    So after watching these videos for years now and seeing a few times on stage when Matt Schofield comes to MA, I’m pretty confident in saying that this guy is probably the greatest electric guitarist in the world now. Thank you for doing this for all of us.

    Nice playing ! I’m in Osaka, I have 4 MV 50s. The boutique is my favorite right now. These things use all tube for their tone, No digital simulation. The reason Korg can now make a tube amp so small and light is this. The MV50 is equipped an all-analog pre-amp circuit that features Nutube, a revolutionary new vacuum tube that produces authentic tube tone at a fraction of the size. By taking advantage of this incredible new technology, VOX’s engineers were able to design a true, miniature tube amplifier. Simple, inexpensive, and the tone is great.
    I love these things ! I also have the Vox acoustic amp and bass amp that use the same Nutube technology. Very small and light. Thanks again.

    These are great little Amps, I bought one a couple of years ago, I have the MV50 Clean, great through a Marshall 4x12, easily competes with a Drummer, what really does it for me, is the tone of this thing, very organic and sensitive, reminds me of my old HiWatt without the Hum, only wish they had added an effects loop, my main amps are a Katana 100 and a Marshall, but this is in my Bag, as a backup, with an overdrive pedal and a touch of reverb

    Very cool playing ! You are really good. I have 4 MV 50s. ( G.A.S. hit me hard when I tried one ! 😆). I have Clean, Rock, AC and boutique. The boutique is my current favorite. These are amazing little amps ! The miniature tubes are a real breakthrough. About posture, having a light guitar helps me keep from getting shoulder problems. At 56, I have learned to take care. My 1995 Parker Fly guitar is only 2 kg. Thanks again !

    I love the vox NuTube amp sound, I have a mini superbeetle that’s pretty much like this but with a treble and bass eq instead of tone and a wonderful one knob each reverb and tremolo. The amps are half solid state, it’s a NuTube preamp and a solid state power amp section but the sound and feel is amazing

    I have the Clean model. Back then when I still play with a band, I usually put this amp in the pedal board bag. With another case containing a headless guitar, I took a motorcycle taxi (yes, this thing exists here) to the rehearsal place. When we have a guest guitarist (we are company-sponsored band so we have this guess almost all the time), I'd put the cabinet-sim output into a spare keyboard amplifier at the place.
    It might not sounds as good as the Mesa or the Matchless they have at the place, but it does give something I can play with.
    PS. The power section is entirely class-D (digital). They used something called "NuTube" on the preamp stage.

    Hi Tomo!
    Thank you for showcasing this amp. I always watch what you post and I have learn a progression that I have seen you playing many times. In this case, you start playing it at 4:05. I really like how it sounds.
    I have a question about that progression, because there is a chord which function I cannot figure out. If I understand correctly, the progression is:
    Chords: E7/9 - G#7 #5 - C#m - Bm7 - Amaj7 - G#m7 - G13 - F#m7 - A/B
    Functions: Root - secondary dominant of vi - vi - ??? - 4th - 3rd - tritone subs - 2nd - V
    What is the function of the Bm7? I cannot figure it out and I am sure that it must be something logical. It sounds great there, I can hear that! But understanding the function, could allow me to use it in a different situation.
    Thank you and keep teaching us all!!!

    question on your string gauges : What do you use for on Strat/Tele guitars? How about for your semihollow or archtops? I'm guessing 10's to allow you to do those great bends for Strats. Also have you tried the small Quilter amp heads? Seems like some of these small, non tube, amp heads are coming much closer to the big tube amps

      Great question! I use D'Addario EXL110 for regular electric. I use 11-49 or 12-52 on Musicmaster or Duo Sonic. 10-46 on ES335 but I use 12-52 on ES330T... I use 12-52 or 13-56 on Archtops. Thank you!

    • @mdspman000
      @mdspman000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TomoFujitaMusic interesting! I had always used some version 11's on electrics, 12's on archtop and for years I mainly played upright bass or acoustic guitars (12 acoustic gauge) so I was used to quite a bit of string resistance. I put on 10's on my electric just to try it and it has taken me quite a while to get used to the light touch needed. Huge change in feel after using instruments with heavy strings.

    • @TomoFujitaMusic
      @TomoFujitaMusic  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am good at adjusting whatever the size of guitar & size of strings. I generally play with light touch. I don't fight with the strings. I be very careful not to play too loud or too strong on heavy stings. Only reason I don't use 11-49 on regular electric... too easy to play a little hard! So I stay with 10-46.

    Sounds better then those terriblr helix,quad/kemper things i dont know how anyone can say there as good as tube amps...That vox is made with a new technology i forget what its called, but its better then the digital garbage that makes guitar sound like a toy...I had the helix stomp and used a kemper, i spent 6 months of my life playing with it using every trick in the book...I dont know if my ears are sensative to digital frequencies, but it was like i could hear the fuzz or overdrive or distortion separate from the clean tone it sounded to me like every gain effect simulations werent attatched to the note, That sounds better to me, but nothing beats tubes....

    Thank you for the review. I have a Vox AC-10 so I am always interested in the smaller Vox amps. btw, could you tell me what is the chord you use a lot with your thumb over the neck ? I recognize most of your other chords except that one. (like around 5:54) Thanks.

      @@TomoFujitaMusic i need to try an Eminence speaker, i THINK that Jensen & Eminence are Clean Kings, im playing through a Jensen P12N and its perfect for funk & jazz, very warm & very fast speaker
      have you tried an EVM 12L speaker? how is the character on that one?

      I am really surprised they never bundled all the models together into one larger switchable unit with a few added bells and whistles.
