    I personally have really enjoyed this CDLC so far! I enjoy the Arma Lore and I’m just glad to see more of it, especially being able to visualize Argana now since it’s been something they’ve talked about lore wise for quite some time. Extraction is pretty much what I was hoping it would be, and the extra assets that fit in with the Vanilla setting is great! The terrain too, is very immersive.
    Honestly, I’d love to see more smaller CDLCs in the 2035 setting covering other lore elements that BI just hasn’t done, since there’s quite a lot of potential! What’s the state of Sahrani in 2035? We know that the Cyrus rifle was made in Chernarus so Chernarus must be CSAT now, is there an on-going rebellion there backed by NATO? Just some ideas I’d love to see, if executed properly!

      This all the way. I've mentioned this in the CSLA video and more recently in the preview vid. The Armaverse has massive potential for storytelling, more dlc packs etc. Who knows the pack might do so well that bohemia greenlight more similar themed cdlc. Would love then to come back with an official dlc but apart from a small ops team it doesnt look like we'll get that. Rotators collective have definitely proved a point that people still hold value in their 2035 setting.
      Thanks for posting plaidgeoduck!

      So far I've loved it but why make it optional? It's relatively small compared to the other CDLCs and it's still set in 2035 adding units and content to the already existing factions, why not just integrate it into the game like the old Bohemia DLCs? Same for all the other smaller CDLCs that may come in the future. Also expanding the 2035 universe lore with minor CDLCs is a great idea, I really hope they actually do it.

    That was a good summing up, Hazbo. As intimated here previously, I was initially skeptical, but having bought this DLC yesterday, I can now say that I like it - a lot (love desert maps, and this one is real quality). Frame rates are very good, and... and... I didn't see any camels, though. Saved a grenade especially.

    • @HazBofficial
      @HazBofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      lmao, keep your grenade! you'll come across them sooner or later, normally accompanied by a (maybe) innocent herder/handler. They need to update bloodlust to be compatible with the camels....in the interest of science of course!

    This release is on point for a 2035 focused DLC, and I'd love to see more of that in the future. Something with snow would be great.

    Great video. I’ve been playing the Extraction mod with some of my group and I am impressed. No one has mentioned how smoothly Extraction runs. Considering that I was hosting it and there are lots of enemy, civilians and dead bodies that remain in place I was impressed at how smooth it ran and with high frames. And this is why I am a fan of this CDLC. Yes, you can use mods to recreate these missions but, and it’s a big but, few mods are optimised to run properly. They compete and conflict with one another and make the gameplay slow and poor. Sahara provides a smooth, optimised game and uses Arma to its full potential. It has some great factions, good assets and a map unlike anything you can find on the workshop. Like I said I am impressed and have had great fun with it in game.

    • @HazBofficial
      @HazBofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ya know Bazza, That's a really good point on performance and on the subject of dead bodies I was pretty certain that the blood pools were lasting a lot longer aswell? I'm not sure if its because its more visible on the sand but I had to check if I was running bloodlust at one point.
      On the mod front- that's why I'm a huge fan of cup. standardised armour and damage values which align well with vanilla and quality wise over the years its gotten really impressive.
      If your a fan of Western Sahara's approach I would suggest checking out Aegis, sounds like it'll be right up your street and would compliment vanilla+WS very well.

    • @Plaidgeoduck6
      @Plaidgeoduck6 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HazBofficial Just thought I’d also chime in here; Aegis and Atlas are both excellent mods for the 2035 setting! As of now there are a few issues with running Aegis with WS ( A Duplicate ION faction, duplicate Zamaks and some Zamaks dont even have wheels) but the good news is, the developer of Aegis did say that with the next update, he’s going to make WS compatible with Aegis and it’ll be a dependency, making it even better to run it all together!

    • @bazza2453
      @bazza2453 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HazBofficial I’ve dipped in and out of the Aegis mods. They are good but big. I prefer Massi’s mods like NATO CTRG and USSOC Lite. Coupled with DVKs CSAT replacement and Spetsnaz factions and Drongos Simple Factions they provide a great variety of units. All are small, lite weight and work well together. Don’t get me wrong I still play with RHS and 3CB for big ops but when it’s a small group of us it’s nice to go lite and as a mission maker it’s so much easier using vanilla assets that just work. Keep up the good work.

      No experience with otherthrow but settlement/poi wise there isnt too much for antistasi or vindicta to cling onto unless they add custom locations. However I can see it being really nice for a short vindicta playthrough (learn the mechanics of the mod etc)

    Completely agree with you regarding CDLC. Western Sahara would've been better released as a normal DLC that it should've been integrated to the vanilla content and use the ART OF WAR dlc model where you pay for one or two years of exclusive content and after that it becomes free for any Arma 3 owner. This is due to the very little content and also content that fits the 2035 Arma 3 lore perfectly.

  • @eise1001

    I wish cDLC offered more of their content into arma3 base game. I.E. marksman or apex dlc. If you dont own it, you get the watermark all over the screen and requests to pay for used dlc assets. I really enjoyed how contact dlc brought more assets and the unique campaign. But if i play on a vanilla server i cant use assets from global mobilization for what reason? I dont want to reload my game just to play around with some assets... I cant let friends try some assets and show its nice that easly either. making them purchase a cDLC almost blind. For me paying for dlc means it has BI’s approval as being “lore” friendly and isnt just a mod full of bugs. If RHS would be ported as cDLC as apex or contact was, i would think a 30-60 €/$ pricetag is fair. This because i could use it on almost every server

    • @HazBofficial
      @HazBofficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get your point, Really I do...but even I have overlooked one thing, taken from the official cDLC FAQ: (credit to killallthethings on the arma reddit for bringing simple enlightenment to my blind self lol)
      Regular Arma 3 DLC makes use of our Content Licensing system. This requires every Arma 3 player to have all DLC data installed, even if they do not own the DLC. The main benefit is that players who do not own certain content can still play together with those who do own the additional content. For Creator DLC we have decided to make it optional to have the DLC data installed. This is mainly to avoid that a regular Arma 3 installation would require a lot more additional hard-drive storage. The second reason is that a Creator DLC's theme or setting might be very different from regular Arma 3, and not everyone might want that to be visible in their game. To help mitigate this last point, we will also be updating the Arma 3 Launcher to make it possible to have Creator DLC installed on your PC, but also have the option to launch the game without particular Creator DLC packs loaded.
      Whilst it doesn't change the fact its really frustrating it does, however, provide a practical reason behind it all. In summary its not going to change unfortunately but lets hope the overall feedback on the cDLC supports and maybe influences future iterations of arma and possibly future incarnations of the cDLC programme?

    • @eise1001
      @eise1001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HazBofficial I do get the practical side of the amount of Disk space it requires, yet if they add like contact the limited amount of assets it did, I dont think there will be an uprise for it being to much waste of space. I understand for a global mobalization it would not make sense to make it part of base game but for the western sahara dlc I find it odd that it isnt added in the way apex is. It has several reskins, the dlc isnt that big either and it fits in the lore of the main game

    • @alecjones4135
      @alecjones4135 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could load the steam mod for global mobilization. called something like "global mobilization content creator DLC compatibility". Same 30 gib but as a steam mod. Could be a work around for you.

    • @eise1001
      @eise1001 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alecjones4135 Yeah, thanks for the tip, but for me its more about how cDLC dont integrate with the game. HazBo made a fairpoint that disk space is a good arguement to not overburden the base game. I do think they could have done better with the western sahara cDLC. Just think it should have been like Contact.

    Honestly to me this is the best CDLC so far, it has an interesting setting that isn't just "east vs west" cold war, and a unique environment to go with it. We've had 4 CDLC now and 3 of them have been cold war none of which have grabbed my attention in any way because of the generic nature. Western Sahara brings amazing new content, lore and aspects to arma 3 you just don't get out of a cold war CDLC. While smaller Western Sahara focuses on smaller details, and nails every aspect of what it tried to do. If i had the choice, i would much prefer DLC this size over others in the cold war setting, especially because of how easily they fit into default arma 3, being able to be used with retexture faction mods, things like the mentioned Aegis and AEW. Its a truly fantastic DLC. and well, camels.
