For the last one you can also interpret it as "if its a rainy day or if its a monday"which would make it an "or" statement instead of "and"

I'm so confused. For some cats, C(x)^(T(x)^D(x)). But for the question, for all x, if x is a child, then g(x) or b(x). When do you use 'if,then" statement and "and" statement.

For existentials, you need to use a conjunctive, but for universals you must use an implicature. Imagine a Venn diagram where you have the sets of cats, cute, and cuddly. You should have three rings, where at least 1 cat is cute and cuddly. So you can say that this intersection is where the element is part of the sets of cute, cuddly, and cat. However, if you say that all birds have two legs and two wings, you must imagine that the set of birds is completely within the intersection of the sets of things that have two legs and the sets of things that have two wings. This doesn't mean that the element is a thing belonging to the set that has two legs and two wings and is a bird-- it means that IF the thing is a bird, THEN it necessarily must have two legs and two wings because the set of birds is wholly within the intersection of the sets of two-legged things and two-winged things.

instead of using & can we use the ^ sign?

With the or in Rainy days and Sundays, things make sense. But it seems like the 'or' in Goldfish or Beta fish should actually be an exclusive or (xor) because a child would not receive both.

"To pass the SEG exam the students have to obtain grade 5 to all the three evaluation forms: laboratory, test, final exam. If one of these grades are below 5, even if the others are higher, the student fails."

That means that if you're from Ahmedabad you necessarily have a house in Dehli. Come to think of it, that would explain why Dehli looks so overpopulated.

I found that out without using predicates just by observing birds.

Every child will receive either a goldfish or a betta fish is wrong. What you gave as a solution is wrong because the kid can have both fishes. Either means one or the other not both. (p^-q)V(-p^q) = (-pV-q) ^ (pVq). right hand side is in CNF.

Clearly, then, she meant to use XOR, not OR.
