According to a Rolling Stone interview, they got in touch at one point through email. She told him she smiled whenever she heard his songs. He calls her precious and that she knows the truth. BUT... that he thinks she was trying to forget him because she has a family now. Or else, it's just him that continues to pine for her and their shared innocence in youth.
