The product placement is a actually a fairly big part of the novel's tone to highlight the fact that most of our daily products, services and companies can be used by a professional hitman to both blend in as an ordinary civilian while being an excellent tool to be used on its own, now the novel was set in the 90s so I'm not sure how they updated a lot of those elements to contemporary times, but the product placement is a big part of the mundane nature of the killer's "gadgetry" he's very much meant to be a DIY Jason Bourne/James Bond type, he flies coach in the novel and dresses like a German tourist to avoid social interactions with strangers on the street, which I think is a fairly cool portrait of an assassin like this.
Thanks for explaining that. Fincher is way tooo smart to just shove it in, so thanks for the background. And he does use the daily products and services to his advantage, a great gag with FedEx pays off well
"The Return of *Anton Chigurh* " : Ha..🤫😁 .....can't help but wonder if Netflix will follow up with a sequel _(or sequels),_ considering that the graphic novels 📖📚 absolutely provide years of content which can serve as a foundation for more *'The Killer'* based stories adapted to film. Because of Andrew Kevin Walker's writing and David Fincher's directing, plus Fassbender's novel accurate, _(detail oriented, cerebral, introverted, methodical)_ portrayal of the lead character, I was 100% engaged with the movie. Also helped that I was familiar with all of _The Smiths_ songs in the soundtrack and personal intimate/extensive life experiences in _La Republica Dominicana_ resonated with me _(same with other filming locations in the movie: Paris, NYC, Chicago, Florida...)._ *Sequel(s)* ? 🤔 The return of *Anton Chigurh* ! Ha..🤫😁
"...The Killer misses his shot and immediately goes on the run in the movie. And while the assassin also messed up the hit job in Paris in the comics, he ultimately does gun down his intended Paris target. But The Killer only does so after killing several other people before returning to finish the job he started. In Fincher’s film, The Killer leaves the target behind entirely and retires to a beach in the Dominican Republic. However, should there be a sequel to The Killer, it’s possible the assassin will return to finish the job he was hired to do."
Its a shame to use the name of the Boogeyman for someone beneath him. John Wick is already leagues above the Killer. The only person that put up a fight was a big samoan looking dude and he was struggling to even put up a fight.
