The current AI models are not the end all. New AI models will copy the human brain even better.

    Yup there's no way around simulating neurons if we want a true agi. Mixing current models only work for limited uses

    The way you speak is incredibly relaxing.

      Reason being I live in a house with thin walls and I usually do these early in the morning. that is why there is so much noise (stomch gurgles :/) as I speak quietly and then amp up the volume.. :D

    The famous quote from "12 monkeys" movie, in 1995 Brad Pitt predicted all this brain scans 😅 but we are making stuff from all movies-Skynet, done(Starlink+Pentagon), Matrix code, soon (when people leave Internet visuals not needed anymore, only taking space, Internet will be only Ai agent swarms place, everything in pure just efficient)

    For comparison according to this picture of a whole brain scan would need around 2 zettabytes in storage alone (without any interaction) and the whole internet is 0.005 zetabyte its pure hybris if we think we can create a near human level intelligence fast. Maybe we will get there in some decades but its not "around the corner". I assume its 100 years + away.

      you can probably compress that data quite a bit :D

      Unless we use the advancing AI we have to come up with a new method to do it. AI will only get smarter and help itself learn faster use AI to improve AI and all that. It's already moving at a scary pace that nobody expected

      Most of that information is not needed for something functionally similar.

      @@MartinDxt Also, we probably do not want to replicate the useless bits. Lots of brain processing has to do with things we are not even aware of. AI tech will help us understand the brain better and as it will do so, we sort of will understand what makes us tick. What makes us conscious, what AI like us would need and what it will not need.

      @@MartinDxt I doubt you can if you want to build an AGI. The brain is already as compressed as it gets its like the "minimum hardware reqirement" for a human like intelligence and in my opinion for a human level AI you have to emulate large parts of it if not all. I assume our first real attempts will be way bigger and slower but we need some decades of progress untill we get affordable exabyte storage and according GPU/CPUs. And I didn't even start about what new kind of architecture needed. Jus look at the "Open Worm" project we can't properly simulate a 300 neuron simple lifeform yet.

    Current ones not only don't copy human brain, but actually have nothing to do with how the brain works. AI models are just statistical models based on human knowledge/data.

    • @Anttisinstrumentals
      @Anttisinstrumentals  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes it is very different as it only processes data we feed it through simple mathematical models of neurons. It is a simulation, but still out of that simulation we got current ai systems.

      Human data is an aide not a requirement. Exhibit A: AlphaZero vs AlphaGo. In fact, past a certain scale Human data may be an impediment. We're still in the AlphaGo stage of LLMS.

      @@gauravtejpal8901 Right now, large models just replicate human data. Later, these models will be made to compete, cooperate, and plan in simulated environments. It is then that they will surpass human abilities. All of the big three AI companies are working towards this.

      Hard to say anymore, model in my tests copy almost mafia boss by itself (no role-playing instructions)-is it statistical? (r/ai_tests)
