I've never seen a baby whale shark before. It looks exactly like adult whale sharks just miniature-sized.

I was reading this when the scene came up

The news reported, I think, that it did trigger a 6 point something earthquake. Even without that, a massive amount of sea life, creatures and the food sources of the plant environment is now destroyed or, beyond that wide area, injured/damaged. Think about the damage to the whale/dolphin hearing and ability to pick up the clicks of others and regroup and hunt, suddenly non existent because they're now painfully deaf and distressed..
Humans are the only animals to massively destroy their own natural life support systems in order to practise destroying other humans. Which they eventually succeed in doing, including those that they are trying to 'save'.

The first explosion was near nothing whatsoever, and powerful enough to kill any sea life within five miles, fuck up sea life for another ten miles, and severely damage the senses of anything else for another thirty miles. For nothing.
The second explosion was too small and too far from the ship to pose any risk whatsoever, and fucked up yet another few hundred thousand tons of sea life.
I guess they US Navy is more interested in removing things for China to poach rather than sinking their poaching fleets.

the caterpillar isn't in pain and squeezing it like that doesn't hurt it, don't worry! that's the sound it makes when it scrunches up very quickly to force air out of its breathing holes (spiracula), it does it to ward off predators.
And they used to say that male babies crying during circumcision doesn't mean they feel pain. They are just surprised about something they don't understand. Cutting off skin with no anesthesia doesn't hurt!
@@lovelypuff9 i understand your concern and appreciate your empathy! there's no real way to answer whether or not caterpillars and other insects actually "feel" pain in the way we mean it, but from the studies i've read and my own experiences raising silkworms, they don't have the capacity to process unpleasant physical stimuli in the same way as humans or other mammals. it's easy to anthropomorphize animals, especially cute ones like this, and say that they're scared or stressed out or in pain, but most of their reactions to perceived threats are purely survival instinct. if they get injured their bodies will respond accordingly ("nociception"), but they don't necessarily have the perception of "hurt", if that makes sense. like, if you were to shut off your pain receptors and cut off your leg, you'd certainly have the awareness that it needs to be fixed immediately lest you die from blood loss, but you wouldn't have the emotional response of "oh god oh fuck that hurts so bad", and you probably wouldn't cry solely from the physical sensation of having your leg cut off.
this person isn't doing harm to the caterpillar - not causing it any unpleasant sensations, not physically harming it in any way - it just has the instinct to get away, because that's what bugs do. so don't worry! it can function as normal after this and that's really the only thing that matters to an insect :)

Alligators really aren't that dangerous. They really dont attack humans unless humans are provoking or hurting them. Crocidiles are the dangerous ones that tend to attack for no reason. Alligators are pretty chill and VERY rarely attack ppl. That's why some ppl even have pet alligators. Crocidiles are too dangerous though which is why no one has pet crocidiles
