After Dogma and The Beast, Delirium boss fight simply *must* do something absolutely crazy. Something you wouldn't believe the game should be *able* do in the first place. I think the *room itself* should transform along with the boss, tailored with specific layouts and starting positions for each boss variation, like dodging a pattern of projectiles flashes to you frantically running down a spike maze, to you shooting bishops projecting a shield, to a completely empty room, back to action again. Think like a bigger, slower version of Cacophobia from Fiend Folio.
The Void mark is only hard in the base game on most characters because you either have to get lucky, or rush to Hush and give up Cathedral/Sheol, Chest/Dark Room, AND Mega Satan marks! And if you get "luckier" and get the void portal earlier you're ALSO giving up Womb! Literally the only reason why you would do this is if you already have all these marks because Edmund decided "no Void for you" the first two go arounds!
There is a mod that opens a void portal in dark room (not sure about the chest) that you can go into after beating the lamb (didn't test it woth mega Satan yet) soo if you play with mods you might wanna use that

I had a idea for a new Delirium fight idea that’s pretty cool where you fight every boss in the game but tainted by Delirium and have different attacks and patterns then a fight against yourself based on whatever character you are but tainted by delirium with strong attacks and patterns based on what character’s gimmick they have and same health as you have and will take one heart of damage or something similar each time you hit them and has invincibility frames and then a fight finally against Delirium after all that with no telaporting but much harder attacks and patterns with using other bosses attacks but way more intense and harder to dodge

@@SmellyRio Okay, so I hate Tainted Isaac because of it's limited inventory, but I think it would be way better on Tainted Apollyon to incentivize actually using Abyss (since what else are you going to do with the Items?). And since we're taking away from Tainted Isaac, I think it would be really funny for any item that gets rerolled to disappear when Tainted Isaac touches it XD. Second, Abyss has no reason to require four charges. The only reason I can think of is to make people trying to use Tainted Apollyon's ONLY MECHANIC suffer more. Lastly, and this is the most obvious, we need more Locusts. Here's some ideas: Brimstone: Locust propels itself forward with a thin Brimstone. Shoop Da Woop/Sulfur: Brimstone but half as strong. Two ideas that could make a Void/Delirium rework (from my mind, anyway): - One, if the rocks and obstacles are Delirium’d, maybe the colors of the rooms themselves should also be Delirium’d so that the aesthetic change from room to room isn’t as jarring as it sometimes is. New room layouts that are meant to feel disorganized or out of place could also fit the theme and make it slightly more unsettling traveling through the floor. - Delirium changing into the bosses you’ve already seen is an amazing concept, but because all the bosses are Delirium’d in this rework, it gave me a thought. What if Delirium can normally change into *any* boss, *except* the ones you beat on the Void floor? That would encourage seeking out as many of the non-Delirium bosses as you can before entering the final fight, as it would “weaken” Delirium with each one you beat. Just some thoughts I had for fun!

Dunno if you've seen it but there's a banger tainted apollyon rework out there, it adds a bunch of synergies to abyss and makes the character REALLY satisfying to play, you should check it out.
ive been toying around with an idea for delirium and the void, where the void floor only has one route you can take with one boss, but then when the boss dies it unlocks access to more rooms which leads to another boss, etc to delirium. could also respawn enemies in the cleared rooms each time you beat a boss room. along with that, i was messing around with an idea where it basically saves all the items you have at the start of either the fight or the floor and then resets your character, and then the floor/boss ramps up in difficulty as it progresses but also gives you back the items that you lost. if it reset you at the start of the void, the boss rooms would offer a choice of like 4 of your previous items and you could only take one, that way you have a small amount of your items rebuilt by the time you reach delirium. and then for the boss itself, first i would take out its teleportation altogether, or make it super rare that it does to reduce telefrags and unfair damage when you're starting out with basically nothing. then it starts out slow and maybe only accesses the first 2 floor bosses you fought. each time you reach a threshold in its health you get back either like, all the items you acquired in basement that you had when you reached the void, or just a random selection of x amount of items or something. each time you reach a threshold in its health, it does that big static wave it normally does in its death animation that changes the level background and stuff, and you get items back, and delirium starts going faster and gets access to boss forms from the next set of stages. then by the end of it, it's similar to current delirium where it's extremely chaotic, maybe regains its random teleport and starts telefragging, idk. delirium would also have more "unique forms" so it doesn't just have its weird face when it's not mimicking a boss. give it like a weird warped form that has a void portal half protruding from its head that spawns enemies, give it some weird mutated horned form that shoots brimstone, just give it some more variety in the final phase where it's super chaotic, super difficult, Isaac's life is flashing before his eyes basically. and then you hit the last threshold in its health and it goes immune or disappears or something, does one last static burst and you're either in the chest or Isaac's house layout, and all your items are gone again. the boss exclusively draws from a small pool of unique forms, and the fight becomes very slow. you only deal your base damage, the boss is only swapping forms once every 10 seconds or so, its become basically a basement boss fight with base stats, and would kind of mirror isaac clinging to life in the chest, his life has finished flashing before his eyes and his breaths are slowed. maybe there's static on the screen that slowly increases in opacity as the fight progresses in this final bit so it's more of a last stand and you have to kill it in a time limit, but the final bit is just kind of this wind down from the chaos.
Btw if you want a crazy run try Trisaigon, pop eyes & magnetic tears. Idk what happened but they stayed stuck inside each other and kept growing (probably a lump of coal) but maybe would also pop off with lacryphagy.
This mod is goated The mod fixes the original void which ironically feels like a mod itself because it's just reusing a bunch of assets, now it feels like a true new floor. Pair this with the cthun voice line mod for the void and it really feels like a final floor
There was this one Fiend Folio boss in the Womb floors that warped you every which way, and the mechanic honestly does fit the idea of delirium incredibly well. If it is implemented similarly to that FF boss, it can push the idea of reaction based bullet hell fights to the extreme. (And it would also be about as hard as Mother without being as unfair as the current boss) I'd imagine that instead of just saving the boss data for Delirium, the game could also save the boss room IDs to be places to warp Isaac between constantly in the Delirium fight.
Dude, when Repentance Dropped, and Enemy Shot Speeds were increased! I died to Famine, and had to just stare at the floor. It was all about relearning your movement, and that was nutty!

(this is a copy/paste from my notes where i dump a lot of tboi ideas but this was my personal little delirium boss rework i thought of at 3 in the morning) delirium is split into phases the same amount of however many main story floors there are (not counting alternate paths). for each phase, delirium is able to transform into bosses that can be encountered on those floors. when he transforms, an audio queu will play matching a sound the boss hes transformed into makes to let the player know what attack patterns they will be facing to help the player see delirium off-screen easier, a trail of glitching creep will constantly excreet from delirium, following the directions he teleports and also leaving a faint trail on the floor to indicate where he will teleport next. if delirium manages to hit the player by teleporting atop them, a glitch will overtake the screen and delirium will transform into a different boss while being moved to the other side of the room invincibility frames for deliriums fight are extended, while also granting a luck-based chance to be given a forcefield of invincibility for a few seconds after being hit delirium will keep a boss form for a maximum of 20 seconds. he can transform before the maximum, but will never remain in a form for longer than 20 seconds.

I'll never forget people losing their minds about repentance hard mode actually being hard and crying that they're not bad at the game and wont play normal mode.
Have you ever played the game Monolith? though it was recently renamed Star of Providence. its really good, i highly recommend it, but in the dlc it added a new final floor that is very similar to the void and i think they did this sort of concept really well. the mixing of everything before it and the boss that takes things from previous bosses, they did a much better job in terms of it actually being fun.

Challenge idea : start with shovel, no boss fight and only hush and delirium (so he can't transforme)
the only time where playing as tainted lost would actually be better than 90% of the other characters
You can't get to Hush without fighting It Lives! though

(this is a copy/paste from my notes where i dump a lot of tboi ideas but this was my personal little delirium boss rework i thought of at 3 in the morning)
delirium is split into phases the same amount of however many main story floors there are (not counting alternate paths). for each phase, delirium is able to transform into bosses that can be encountered on those floors. when he transforms, an audio queu will play matching a sound the boss hes transformed into makes to let the player know what attack patterns they will be facing
to help the player see delirium off-screen easier, a trail of glitching creep will constantly excreet from delirium, following the directions he teleports and also leaving a faint trail on the floor to indicate where he will teleport next.
if delirium manages to hit the player by teleporting atop them, a glitch will overtake the screen and delirium will transform into a different boss while being moved to the other side of the room
invincibility frames for deliriums fight are extended, while also granting a luck-based chance to be given a forcefield of invincibility for a few seconds after being hit
delirium will keep a boss form for a maximum of 20 seconds. he can transform before the maximum, but will never remain in a form for longer than 20 seconds.

Have you ever played the game Monolith? though it was recently renamed Star of Providence. its really good, i highly recommend it, but in the dlc it added a new final floor that is very similar to the void and i think they did this sort of concept really well. the mixing of everything before it and the boss that takes things from previous bosses, they did a much better job in terms of it actually being fun.
