I've been using Logic for years. This is exactly the sort of advice EVERYBODY needs. The ability to automate your workflow is really something, and it just plain sounds good.
The smartest thing to do is create a template , set it up with all the favorite things you want to work with, whatever works for you. Also save instrument channel settings and name them. Every time you open that template you can make it a new project, build upon that template over time. Especially set up how you like to do your drums, set up multi outputs for all your drums, once .
Your video was recommended to me by the TH-cam algorithm. It totally got it right. Happy to have subscribed (#299, I believe). I hope you get way more views and subsribers soon! It would be well deserved.
What an excellent tutorial. I have a question. Do you know how to mix on an analog console with Logic? ? For instance, I have a Soundcraft MTK 22 console and I would like to mix on console and send it back to logic. I need a tutor. I can’t find anyone.
I know this is an older thread, but there does not seem to be a "display" option in what is now called settings. Thus, I don't seem to be able to change the grid lines like shown here. Removed it? Somewhere else?
Nice video! Anybody know how to get ur alt click drag and drop / copy region preview back on? It use to show me the ghost of where ur gonna put it but its gone now 🙁 thanks!! Or a link to video!! Cheers
There are so many ways to get in this position it would be hard without seeing how you have it set up. My first question is are you hearing audio through Apollo from logic at all..or is it just when trying to send an audio input to a track?
I should probably use templates more...I have made a bunch of them but over the years I just haven't used them much. I keep trying simpler or more complicated templates but I for whatever reason don't wind up using them very much.
So what DAW did you decide on? I use Ableton for more EDM type projects or sound design. Pro Tools only because people still send me pro tools sessions....I haven't found any others I like enough to spend the time to learn.
when making tutorials, please either use the mouse to activate features, or TELL US YOUR HOT KEYS as you type them. This is useless to me, thanks for trying.
When making comments ,please pay attention to the video in question, take note of the mouse cursor that is clearly present from start to finish. Otherwise, realize that which is useless, is your attempted contribution. Thanks for trying.

So glad I stayed till the end! Had no idea about screen sets.
Wow can’t believe I’ve never heard of screensets! Super useful! Thank you
Ty. Keep it up. Unfortunately logic tutorials are saturated on TH-cam. Youre clear and concise. Sometimes the algorithm is a pita
I loved this break down
I’ve been on logic for like 7 years and still got some good tips
I love take folders when recording
Liked and subscribed. This is super helpful!! Thank you.
Peter...Just what I needed...Clear concise info! Appreciate you man!
This is next level for me!!! I will be using a lot of these!!!
thank you, really loved the absolute snap settings
Glad you found it helpful.
I`m going to run a Logic demo in a couple of days (I`m a Cubase user since SX3). Thanks for the tips.

Thanks I really appreciate that. I'm planning another series now and hopefully it will help the channel and hit more on what people are looking for.
Thanks for this. Super helpful video!
I learned so much. What a great video, Thank you!
So glad it helped. I originally decided to make this video for clients of mine. The video allowed them to go back over it so they wouldn't forget.
Very useful information!
super clear and helpful, thank you!
you explain it good boss!
Good insights. Thank you!
Midi chase is important too. For every project.
It seems strange to me that this isn't a global setting (that I can tell)....what reason would someone not want that?
Super help!
Bless you 🙏🏾
5:27 This part really saved my hind paws!
Helpfull 👍🏻 thanks!
You bet.
thanks
Nice!
"Display" is now "View" in "Settings" which was "Preferences" depending on your version of Logic Pro. :)
best video ever
Thanks so much.
Looking forward to getting back into some videos soon
I like how you teach ...Niceeee
Your instagram handle isn’t working

I haven't had a console for so long I wouldn't know where to start. Sorry about that.

It's crazy that Enable Complete Features is disabled by default, makes zero sense when Garage Band is available.
Agreed
How did you get a white on black contrast?
Hi, i am using a UA Apollo.
I get no input signal in LPx, but i do in another DAW ?
Can you help ?
There are so many ways to get in this position it would be hard without seeing how you have it set up. My first question is are you hearing audio through Apollo from logic at all..or is it just when trying to send an audio input to a track?
step one how the hell did you open up the preferences
Start with Logic Menu on far left then choose settings.. Choose what you want to adjust from there
Easier to save the absolute value in the arrange page and note editor, as part of the template preferences.
I should probably use templates more...I have made a bunch of them but over the years I just haven't used them much. I keep trying simpler or more complicated templates but I for whatever reason don't wind up using them very much.
Sorry, bro, but I need more beginner specifics. I came here to see how to find and open preferences. Can you step-by-step that sort of thing, please?
I can’t find custom settings at 5:83
I'm not sure because of the time stamp 5:83 what it is you are looking for. Are you looking to customize the control bar and display?
Watch at 1.25 speed
Ha ha. Buffer size? What could that mean in a Socially Oppressed vocabulary? :))
All the bells and whistles drove me away . 👽
So what DAW did you decide on? I use Ableton for more EDM type projects or sound design. Pro Tools only because people still send me pro tools sessions....I haven't found any others I like enough to spend the time to learn.
Instantly-where is preferences…
Under the logic menu choose settings and pick what you want to adjust
yu are guiding wrong way its setting not preferenvces ... in logic nowhere there's word v called preferences
when making tutorials, please either use the mouse to activate features, or TELL US YOUR HOT KEYS as you type them. This is useless to me, thanks for trying.
But… lol. The mouse… it’s present the entire time… so are on screen texts showing key commands lol. What are you talking about😂
When making comments ,please pay attention to the video in question, take note of the mouse cursor that is clearly present from start to finish. Otherwise, realize that which is useless, is your attempted contribution. Thanks for trying.
I agree, I couldn't even figure out how to open preferences for so long cuz he hotkeyed it 😂😭
Thank you! Very useful info!
