nop. it copies the freaking audio wave to the other drum track. Damn it
Very good 🎉
180 studios checking in 🎉
Great tutorial - thank you!
I know this is an older thread, but there does not seem to be a "display" option in what is now called settings. Thus, I don't seem to be able to change the grid lines like shown here. Removed it? Somewhere else?
I’m going to try this thanks - but have a question. Do you think doing the trick where you double a standard tuned guitar part capo’d up and played in different key works similarly or not well enough? Thanks 😊
@@BryTunesMusic sounds like it would work great. Just capo up high
I love take folders when recording
How did you get a white on black contrast?
This is great, Peter! I'm just about to spring for Superior Drummer. (I've been using NI's Studio Drummer for years)
Midi chase is important too. For every project.
It seems strange to me that this isn't a global setting (that I can tell)....what reason would someone not want that?
yu are guiding wrong way its setting not preferenvces ... in logic nowhere there's word v called preferences
"Display" is now "View" in "Settings" which was "Preferences" depending on your version of Logic Pro. :)
This is next level for me!!! I will be using a lot of these!!!
very useful information! thanks
Thanks for this Peter. I had no idea I could actually set up my own plugins folders and organisation. Great tip.
So how do you undo or edit latch?
Undo button top right screen
You should have added that you should save your modified map so that you only have to do this once. Plus having a modified map will also allow you to add the future hit instruments such as tambourines and maracas, which are not a part of the original map in Superior Drummer 3.
amazing video thank you
no
How good does this work with Logic Pro 11 sessions drummer.
It works the same with Logic Pro 11
this guy's Guitar Compass course is great! Best online guitar teacher in the WORLD!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words. I am surprised to be honest the guitar compass is still hanging in there. My publisher runs the site. BTW I have a ton of books and courses available on Amazon. I you type in my name it should come right up
Peter, do you know if there's a way to set a default for the Link button? I'd like it to be enabled when I open Logic for the first time. If I save my template with it enabled and then create a new session with that template it's always disabled.
Unfortunately I'm not aware of a way to set that as a default and I never tried it in a template. That doesn't mean there isn't so If you come across a way to do it please share
best video ever
Thanks so much.
Looking forward to getting back into some videos soon
Hi, i am using a UA Apollo. I get no input signal in LPx, but i do in another DAW ? Can you help ?
There are so many ways to get in this position it would be hard without seeing how you have it set up. My first question is are you hearing audio through Apollo from logic at all..or is it just when trying to send an audio input to a track?
Excellent. Thank you.
Thank you so much I needed that!
Just recently did this myself! I like it!
Instantly-where is preferences…
Under the logic menu choose settings and pick what you want to adjust
I`m going to run a Logic demo in a couple of days (I`m a Cubase user since SX3). Thanks for the tips.
It's crazy that Enable Complete Features is disabled by default, makes zero sense when Garage Band is available.
Agreed
What an excellent tutorial. I have a question. Do you know how to mix on an analog console with Logic? ? For instance, I have a Soundcraft MTK 22 console and I would like to mix on console and send it back to logic. I need a tutor. I can’t find anyone.
I haven't had a console for so long I wouldn't know where to start. Sorry about that.
This is awesome can it be done with garage band !?
Thank you. Simple and to the point. I can;t stand these videos that take ten minutes to explain something that can be explained in 30 seconds.
step one how the hell did you open up the preferences
Start with Logic Menu on far left then choose settings.. Choose what you want to adjust from there
Well done! Thanks!
Bless you 🙏🏾
Interesting!
I've known of this for years, having once worked in the Nashville studio scene. While it wasn't used NEARLY as much by the time the 90s rolled around, it's more readily used to recreate the sound of a 12 string without the difficulty of playing a 12 string.
Great tip. Was confused by second half until rewatching and pausing. ‘Slot’ probably threw me off.
I will rewatch video and see where I used that term. If it caused confusion I apologize. I have been away from TH-cam and videos for a few months due to medical reasons.
super clear and helpful, thank you!
when making tutorials, please either use the mouse to activate features, or TELL US YOUR HOT KEYS as you type them. This is useless to me, thanks for trying.
But… lol. The mouse… it’s present the entire time… so are on screen texts showing key commands lol. What are you talking about😂
Thanks! Silly question: how do you create a FADER?
Could use that Apple midi map myself. They are not available on EZ drummer 3
I don’t have EZ so I don’t know the limitations. Can you midi map at all?
Not sure. It doesn’t have as many presets as you showed on the video like the Apple presets. Do you think i could import those presets if you saved those presets to a file and shared ?
Yes, there are MIDI maps available for EZ Drummer 3 that you can use directly with Drummer as well as the Session Players in Logic Pro 11. They were posted on ToonTrack’s EZ Drummer forum.
@@bear-facedcow230 Do you have a link to this? I can't seem to find it.
Very well done man. :-) I’ve been waiting for somebody to do an in depth tutorial about this. Great work!
Good to know. Thanks

Great stuff, thank you. I'd done this before in LPX but it's nice to have a refresher and you explained everything very well. With the explosion of AI in music products (for me AI will never take the place of human creativity) I'd started looking for a stand-alone plugin that converts voice melodies to instruments. Then I remembered we've had that capability in Logic all along. Thanks and keep up the good work.
AI is definitely a mixed bag. A lot of AI driven plugins being marketed right now. If you’re creating sounds for Netflix it’s probably a huge time saver. Have to see how it plays out in the music production world. Mr Bill (EDM producer) has some content on this.
I've been using Logic for years. This is exactly the sort of advice EVERYBODY needs. The ability to automate your workflow is really something, and it just plain sounds good.
Very helpful. Thanks for posting!
you explain it good boss!
