I React to Mean Comments, So Rude!

- Getting mean comments is part of being on TH-cam. I usually just ignore the mean comments and don't let them bother me but I recently put together this video as part of a 12 hour live stream I did to raise money for my friend Sean, if you haven't seen the stream, you can check it out here:

I had lots of comments from people who wanted to see the video again so I thought I'd upload it to TH-cam for you. Please let me know if you found this amusing!
It was put together pretty quickly so I'm sure I could find a lot more mean comments for another day. These were just from the last few weeks.

For every Sally out there Emma there's a million others who love your channel, it's informative, it's funny and it's really well researched! What more could you want? As for your accent, that just tells me you're from the South of England, nothing more, nothing less! Your true personality shines through in your videos and it's a peach. Keep doing what you do!

Yeah, it's interesting about British people. We make assumptions about people based on their accents which can be completely unfounded. As Cam says you have a generic South of England accent although in the past, if I knew about you going on cruising holidays, I'd assume you are posh but they can be quite cheap as you have pointed out.
Oh I thought posh was a compliment, like it means your accent sounds like you're cultured and wise? That's certainly how I mean it when I say that :)

Emma, I am not British, have never been on a cruise, and not sure if I ever would. I subscribed to your channel because you are easy to listen to, you bring a different view to the world than what I normally see and I think it is wonderful that you want to share your experiences with us. Emma, My wife and I never miss your channel and look forward to it. We have been cruising for 30 years and traveled to 43 countries and have found that there are people that are not happy until they can make people feel as small as they are. The thing to remember is that if the world had more people like you we all would be better off. We love Peaches... Be well and thanks

For some people a cruise is the trip of a lifetime and you’ve brought your great knowledge and advice into their lives which allow them to make the most of that adventure. Forget those few toxic people and remember the tens of thousands who love and appreciate all you do!

My husband and I recently found your channel and we love you! You have great information. I love to listen to your accent and you are absolutely adorable! What is wrong with people? I don't understand why people feel it's ok to be so unkind and hurtful. Just ignore the haters and keep being your awesome self! We are hoping to visit the UK at some point. It takes a brave soul to put yourself out there. I love your videos and think you’re the cutest thing! There are so many crazies out there as well as people who are not that bright and people who make themselves feel better by trying to minimize others. I know it must be difficult to read those mean comments for so many reasons but don’t take them to heart. I’m very particular, don’t have a lot of time to indulge in TH-cam but you are one of my go-to cruise news people! Keep up the great work!
Hi Emma, as a cruise ship crew member, I appreciate the research and comments you make concerning various cruising topics. It helps promote the industry and separates fact from fiction. Don't worry about the keyboard cowards. Whenever you rise above the crowd there are always people that want to pull you down to their level. Keep doing what you are doing! I love your channel! Thank you for keeping us informed and educated on cruising! I have been on several cruises and still had a lot to learn. I recently found your channel. I find it refreshing. You help me to be more informed on future cruises. I watch a lot of British shows on amazon prime. Watching you is like having a British friend. Oh, Emma. I only recently found your channel but absolutely love your videos. You said it best when you said you feel sorry for these trolls. Mean people, bullies, and other people of such caliber - their lash outs almost always stem from their own insecurities, depression and jealousies. They are to be pitted. As for myself and my tiny online social media presence, I have a strict "Don't feed the trolls" policy. I will say that for my own personal preferences (and it's true you can't please everyone), you are normally so positive that I find the few complaints you provide refreshing. It makes your reviews/feedback more balanced and gives more weight to the positive things you say. When you mention negative things, you also always do it in a constructive manner and those have led to some of the best tips/suggestions. You're young, beautiful, and you have the work/life balance thing figured out long before most of your peers - sometimes jealousy will bring out the haters. Let them hate, you're amazing!

I think that was a honest review. And as a bigger person I think it's very good that you mentioned the fact that you had trouble with some of the chairs and the bathroom, even as a slim person. You can relate to things that can obviously a big (pun intended) thing for bigger people. Things like that can ruin your holiday. Imagine having to squeeze yourself in a chair and in your shower. Thats nor relaxing, nor comfortable.
He probably never went on a cruise ship until he created Virgin Voyages. If he had been aboard a cruise ship, the reason his cruise line constructed Scarlet Lady and her sister ships was because of all the faults he found aboard that first cruise, including the extras like drinks, gratuities, shore excursions, spa treatments, wifi, specialty restaurants, the existence of kids aboard that ship, etc. I've watched Virgin Voyage ads on TH-cam, and while they seem intriguing, I saw your review, and my intent to go aboard a Virgin ship dropped like the proverbial stone.Frankly, though, if you're going to debut a new ship, why would it get launched and have an inaugural cruise during bad weather?

Perhaps this means something to you, Emma, and give some momentum to carry on ;) I never was on a cruise (untrue: I was on the Nile once) and I don't really plan to go, I am not really interested in the whole idea. I just watch your videos because you're telling about interesting things in a well educated and polite way, with a kind accent and without stupid voice plays and ovearacting; and you make me understand why other people like cruising. Long story short: you show me a world I did not know about in details. This is cool. This is inspiring. Let haters suffer in their own anger and sail on ;)

I love watching you and Gary Bembridge's (Tips for Travellers) channels. I am closer to Gary's age, but as a woman I get that perspective from you and it is perfect! I have never been on long cruises, only one night ones from Norway to Denmark and back, but I plan to go when I get the finance ready. I will take your course about traveling on a budget and have fun by myself (NCL solo is probably the first trip I'll take). I love this channel and remember Taylor Swift!

I'm a new subscriber that discovered you with the 12 hour video. I don't know much about you yet but I will as I watch more. Just know you were created special by God. I worked in an ER for many years and I can tell you of so many people that just lived with hate in their hearts. It spewed from their mouths towards me and many of my co-workers. They didn't even know our names and were throwing out comments as bad and worse than what you are describing. I truly believe they have a mental illness and we should all be thankful we don't suffer like they do. Some of them are simply envious of you while others are mentally ill. I’m 36 now and have been cruising since I was 14. I’ve always cruised with NCL and I would have gladly continued that pattern. But after watching so many of your videos, I started googling some of the different ships you review, and now I’m looking forward to experiencing a different cruise line for my next cruise.

I don't often comment on TH-cam videos Emma, but you touched my heart with this one. My wife and I only discovered your channel a few months ago, and we regularly Binge watch your videos. We both think you are absolutely adorable, with long hair, short hair or no hair. :) Your editing techniques are so professional, and your commentary is extraordinarily entertaining. As Australians, we totally comprehend all the Britishisms. There is nothing to dislike about you or your personality. It is definitely them, not you. There are trolls everywhere in society and TH-cam is no exception.

Love this comment - exactly how I feel about Emma and her content. I’m also binge watching atm and having great fun dreaming and working out which ship and cruise looks best and that I’d like to go on 😊. Emma is so entertaining and comes across so genuine and likeable.

Hi Emma, I used to cruise in Asia and I live in Europe for a while. You can't imagine how useful and amazing your videos were to me when I try to plan my first cruise here. You videos are loving, informative, thoughtful, and I can't get enough of them! I don't usually leave a comment but I really wanted to say that I was a bit scared about every aspect of cruising from another country but you videos had encouraged me to book my first trip! (Finger crossed to that) I'm so excited and thank you thank you!

I’ve only ever been on one cruise and it was a very short 3-night cruise just before Covid. I have my next cruise booked and I’m planning a third one for 2023. My wife and I love watching your videos, and others’ like yours to help us plan these vacations so that we can most effectively spend our money and our time. Thank you for all of the time, hard work, and honesty that you put into your videos! They really help us!

About the mean comments: something to keep in mind: those comments - say a lot more about the person making the comment. Pity them. They are sad people.

i've only recently come across your channel and found your videos very educational and fun, i have never been on a cruise nor have i really been interested, but watching your videos has inspired me to give it a go you arer a wonderful person and i will continue to look forward to watching until the day comes (and obviously thereafter as well) but in the meantime keep up the good work and stay passionate about the things you love!

Hey Emma. Extreme negativity in people seems to come from people NOT being happy in their own lives. They see how happy, pleasant, and successful you are and this must upset them terribly. They are simply trying to emotionally hurt you and bring you down to their level of unhappiness. Please don't change anything that you are doing Emma because you are doing it all perfectly. You are a breath of fresh air in this otherwise dull and unpredictable world we live in. Especially try not to get caught up in these negative people's thoughts and comments. It is not about You. I think just ignoring people who make ugly comments is the best thing to do. They only want to bait you and keep attention on themselves. I literally pray for people like that, but I've learned not to engage and encourage toxic behavior. Btw I am not from the UK but I hope to go there some day (I'm American), and I really really enjoy listening to your videos. You are one of the most pleasant people to listen to 😊
