I’ve had Hunt wheels for a few years now. Got my first set when they very first started importing to the US. Great wheels, amazing customer service, and nearly impossible to beat for the price.
I love these wheels. Just replaced my stock OEM wheelset, and it completely transformed how my bike felt. I never realized how big of a difference lighter wheels could make to a mountain bike.
Just got the enduro wide v2 boost wheel set. Can confirm that the tape was lifting pretty bad when I got them. I had to re tape them for tubeless. Other than that, they are amazing wheels for the price!
Just bought a set of these Hunt wheels for $350. They were $100 off for Black Friday and I used a $50 coupon. I also picked up the (Ibis) Blackbird Send wheelset at Backcountry on sale for $325 bc I couldn’t believe how durable they were after seeing Jeff Kendall’s video on them. May get some Berd poly spokes in the future but they cost more than both wheelsets I just bought combined lol. Maybe one day
I have these wheels and after a season the rear rim is cracked at 11 of the 14 drive side spoke holes. I'm 145 lbs and I do only enduro trails, no serious stuff. The spoke tension from the factory is most probably too high.
today I learned the 27.5 i40 rims on my Santa Cruz Chameleon have stress fractures, thinking these would be a good replacement for the wtb wheels that were on my bike.
How did they hold up , im on the fence between the enduro and the trail . Im 235 pounds but not a hard rider and i ride mostly trails with a few bike park/dh days here and there .
I picked up a set of the Hunt XC wide wheels for $380, for the price there's nothing that really comes close. I would have loved some carbon wheels, but I couldn't justify spending +$1000 for my secondary bike. Only two short rides in and they are better in every way than the stock wheels I destroyed despite being +2x the price new. I do wish the hub was louder as I like people and animals hearing me.
Did you get them? I am thinking about getting these for my Ripley AF and set them up with some faster rolling tires and keep the stock 35mm wheels set up with burly tires. Or I might even get the Hunt XC wide wheels which are another 150 ish grams lighter.
I have a Giant Toughroad SLR2 with their own GX28 wheelset and 45 gravel tyres. Any suggestions on an upgrade that can accomodate tires from 45 upwards but still lighter than my current set? Thanks.

If you are going to do these videos you should consider purchasing a good cycling scale. That wheel set is reportedly weighing closer to 1920 grams with tape and without valves.
1770g for trail set. My OEM levels where 2250g That's nearly half a key on savings for £300 P.s The hunt warehouse is next to the privateer bike warehouse in partridge green in uk

Nice! I still have hunt wheels on my gravel bike. Seriously best value for wheels
Their warranty is the best. Had an issue and they went far beyond what i expected.

I couldnt choose between entry level mavic crossmax, dt suisse M 1900 or Fulcrum
Hunt is making the choice easier.
Hard to beat the price
@@MTBRadDad indeed, 324€ for the Trail wheelset, pretty great
tks for your video
An older review I watched said the hubs were 3 degrees of engagement. I read 5 degrees and you also confirmed this. We’re they ever 3 degrees.
off the top of my head, they might of had a road based hub that was 3 degrees i think

Great video. Your insight is spot on.
Wow another killer review 🥰
Thanks all!

Haha, Yeah gotta love loud hubs.
Great video! Do you think these would be an upgrade to Ibis stock alloy wheels? Weight difference is only about 200gms.

Is there a scenario where you would get the enduros over the trail?
Personally, I couldn’t see getting the enduros. Maybe if I had a DH bike

On my gravel bike I’m running these with 47c tires

Can you make a "how to" video on how to install them. I have a set of Hunt wheels on the way and would love to install them myself 😀

Are these rims double walled?
I dont know to be honest.

Not all Wheels are gonna weigh exactly the same. Especially if they are 6 bolt vs centerlock, ect.
@@MTBRadDad That's a good point. And yet you still should have a good scale if you are going to quote weights.

Yup Biggest noticeable difference for not a lot of money
Still too expensive for me.
Sh*t review if you don't weigh them
I know right!
