@pinkaholic30 Yes I just so wish she'd go back to just having a simple and clean routine like that. The difficulty only needs to be around a 6.0 or so, and in that routine she scored like a 9.150 in execution! If Kara did that routine here (in event finals), I think she would've qualified first and gotten Balance Beam Gold. PLEASE STOP GOING FOR DIFFICULTY KARA ESPECIALLY THOSE RINGS. HIT SIMPLE AND CLEAN AND YOU'LL WIN EVERYTHING!
@@noahbyrd2678 Yes, she is really strong on this event and could have won gold here. That's ok because she will have less pressure for the future. She'll win an individual medal at Worlds or the Olympics in this event. This might be her only opportunity for the Olympic team unless she improves on her other events. How does that work for the Olympics for individuals qualifying that are not on the team? Is each country allowed 2 more for individual events that qualify and are not on the 4 person team? Jade Carey will be an individual qualifier unless she improves on the other events too to make the team depending on the direction that the U.S. wants to go on forming the Olympic team.
Amazing! Kara, beautiful beamer, you can do so much more, let this give you the confidence to do so! USA is proud of you. Critics will come to "pour dirt", as the Russians say, but this was the best she could do under nerves and a wonky beam construction- and it was more than enough, dear girl. You are a champion in USA's eyes.
She is great (I'm Belarusian, speaking on their behalf, I'm sorry for those poor comments). I was soo worried she was going to be alternate. But thank goodness she is actually competing now! Hope she takes even the gold on beam!!
And to hit After a Fall Way to go Kara it was beautiful I think she gasvthe prettiest full turn a lot of girls do it but she makes it look beautiful..I love her RHYTHM which is something we don't see anymore from anyone outside of karrissa
Yes I absolutely hope Al Fong and Armine simplify her beam construction to something easier to hit and with less built-in "ring" deductions like her P&G Championships Day 2 Beam routine. That was absolutely fanatastic, and if she simply kept that routine this entire year, I think she would've qualified and won first on Balance Beam this worlds. Al and Armine and Kara are trying to hard going for difficulty when she can pull back on difficulty, hit a 9.0+ difficulty and sweep Balance Beam medals. C'mon!
Amaziiiiiing ❣️ I can't believe people are criticizing her because of her ring position. Only the fact that she managed to do the entire routine without any major issue is impressive. Also, she got those skills downgraded and still got 2nd (so far, no bad luck please) shutting down all the haters
Why shouldn't we criticize things that should be criticized? It's silly of her coach to waste the advantages of a beautiful, fluid beam worker by saddling her with massive E score deductions from her ring positions. An 8.0 E score for an otherwise clean and fluid routine suggests that there's something wrong with the routine construction (aka the fact she has poor ring positions and a million skills to deduct from). I can appreciate Kara's beam work while also pointing out that there are quite a few things to fix if she wants to be even better (potentially challenge for gold). Also, at least for me, I was under the impression the beam judging would be like the harsh Montreal style in 2017, in which case Kara would have been in bigger trouble because of her ring form and reliance on connections.
She was hammered in e-score so I dont wanna hear shit about "but her rings...". It's a good thing evrything else is so perfect. Next year I hope Al Fong will take out the first ring and connect the split leap mount to a wolf jump 1/1 (i believe ragan once did one?). It's very valuable.
I love watching her on beam. She's fluid and her acro combo is beautiful. She probably needs to work on the flexibility/positioning for the ring leaps but I almost don't notice because of her style and since her routine is such a pleasure to watch. Good job Kara!
It's complicated to explain in writing, but this routine exposes a flaw in this scoring system. Say one of her D leaps is downgraded to a B. The 'E-score judges' are unaware of the 'D-score judges' decision, so the 'E-score judges' assume the leap is given a D value, thus they can deduct severely. But if the leap is counted as a B instead of a D, the deduction is reflected in the D-score... So, shouldn't the lack of split and/or ring not be as severely deducted in the E-score? -- The E-score judges judge these routines in real time so do they assume her D leaps are given a D value and deduct from there? That's where my confusion lies. -- If anyone understands what I'm trying to say and can clarify, let me know.
@@lionsmaine1238 I've always heard there were different panels of judges, one dedicated to calculating the D-score and the other to the E-score. Even if they did collaborate after routines, the E-score cannot be adjusted. So maybe they tend to give full difficulty credit for questionable skills that were deducted severely by the E judges because the E judges assumed the questionable skills were given full D credit? I'm not sure. It's tricky.
@@lionsmaine1238 And this could explain why people were surprised to see Kara with a high D-score... having her controversial leaps credited while getting hammered in her E-score.
Different panels, one for D score, one for E score. This is the nature of the beast - a poorly executed ring will hurt the E score and be downgraded (hurting the D score). Execution deductions are subtracted from 10.0 and each fault is deducted, regardless of difficulty value of the move. So yes, you can perform a move so poorly that it isn't worth the difficulty value because of the E score deductions.
@Grant, I know what you mean. The D and E judges give their independent scores, meaning if you performed an element with a questionable form, you get penalised twice for the same mistake. That's why some easier and cleaner routines get such high scores these days. You really have to think twice before performing something that is less than 100%.

Honestly it is a very loose routine prone to incompleteness and hesitation here and there. D score is very questionable. couldn’t believe this could amount to the second highest score in qual. Those CVs are just vague mostly dependent upon judges call. But I like her style close to old-school Russian BB.
