    I think Mike Alstott should be in the hall of fame. Man oh man, was he ever a load to bring down, especially at the goal line.I remember watching him play and was he ever fun to watch! size, strength, speed, dexterity, the A-Train had it all. Man, oh man, I miss watching him play! Thank God for TH-cam!

    Man, the body control and balance on this guy is amazing. His legs are like tree trunks. It must hurt to attempt a tackle on him. What I think is the best thing about him as a person is that he is humble, soft spoken and not a showoff. Comes to work and just does his job. No stupid shit after a TD. Bottom line is that there is absolutely no quit in the guy.

      @inherentjesse 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There’s a lot of powerhouse backs that play today. Adrian Peterson was another who could craft or just straight up run over defenders. Today’s NFL the Defenders are getting so athletic and big and strong and fast that being a powerhouse back isn’t as effective as a elusive back. Delvin Cook is a hard Running player but his quickness and speed with the mix of power keep him ahead of players.

    • @rattlehead9127
      @rattlehead9127 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@inherentjesse That's true but the Fullback position in general is almost extinct and used almost exclusively as another blocker. While there are big bruiser backs and HBs that don't shy away from contact these days they just aren't the same as the Fullbacks of yesterday.

Obviously full backs don’t rack up stats like running backs do, but his longevity and domination at the position beyond just running the ball is also what made him so great.

    Coach said just keep my legs moving and I'll score. 20 yards later and a touchdown...

    Legend says Alstott once fell foward at the fifty yard line and ended up inside the opponent’s endzone.

    Can anyone even imagine the kind of success Tom Brady would have had if he was with Tampa Bay in 02? Having Mike Alstott to hand the ball off to and one of the greatest defenses of all time to back him up? Assuming the Buccaneers did all they could to keep the core of the team intact for as long as possible and drafted some decent wide receivers, Brady very well could have 10 rings already had that been the case.
