  • Wouldn't it be great if you could track exactly which channels are driving leads to your business? Better yet, wouldn't it be great to see which channels or marketing campaigns are converting into new customers and revenue?
    In this video, I show you how you can track the UTM parameters being used in a marketing campaign and store these details in Pipedrive. This allows you to report on your channels and campaign effectiveness in the Pipedrive Insights.
    This is done by using Jotform with hidden form fields to capture the UTM parameters. Then, using Zapier, we can input these leads and the UTM information into Pipedrive. Finally, you can then report on which sources are generating the most leads or revenue in Pipedrive's Insights.

    UTM parameters + Pipedrive were on the backburner for a while. Thank you for this video. Now, we will implement.

    You don't need Zapier lookups to map the Medium and Source. You can directly pass the text from the first step and Zapier will automatically map it to the right value in your single option field in Pipedrive.

      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah, I didn't realise this. Thanks! It definitely used to be the case that you needed a lookup table. I guess Zapier has been updated so it works it out. However, if you don't use a lookup table, it would create an issue if someone were to ever rename the field values. It's better to map to a system ID (using a lookup table) so that the text field values can be changed if needed without breaking the Zap.

      @@minor-co If you rename the field values, you rename them in the CRM too. :D Can't imagine a scenario where the field says ABCD in the form and ABDC in the CRM. Of course, if you want to map fields in a 'many to one' fashion, then yes, lookup tables are great!
      I believe you when you say that it used to work that way! Thank you, Zapier, for making it easier now! :) Cheers!

    Great video, if I wanted to track lead source for a form where we get traffic from both some ppc but mostly organic traffic would I need to have two forms , one specifically for organic and another specifically for ppc.

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question. No, I don't think so. You could use the same form and simply add the UTM tracking for your paid campaigns. The only issue is for organic traffic, no UTM values would be submitted (as there is no UTM tracking with organic traffic) so the fields would just be empty. So you just need to make the assumption that it was organic.

    Hello Paul, could it be possible to do this without Jotforms and use the web forms included in pipedrive? Thanks!

    • @minor-co
      @minor-co  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm afraid not. The reason being that we need to make the fields hidden so they're not visible and also fillable via the URL which Pipedrive's forms don't support.

      Yes, it's still an option. But it has to be in an action step, not a trigger.

    Do you have to set those utm fields yourself in jot form or the source the traffic it is coming from?

    Can you make a quick edit targeted to PR professionals? I would like to use Pipedrive to track stages of pitching (Ex: Pitched/Opened Email (Streak)/Interest/Declined) but if this Zapier thing could action from a PRNewswire URL that journalists visit proactively -- or even a Google Doc of a press release that's public...that would be really interesting
