- A PEC (Posterior Exterior Chain) in Postural Restoration is a description of someone who has both sides of the pelvis rotated forward and usually both sides of the ribcage elevated. Technically it's called a bi-lateral PEC because you have two chains of PEC muscles, one on each side of the spine, but in general most PRI people still refer to it simply as PEC.
PECs are not all that different from the typical Left AIC right BC pattern, and as Ron always says, underneath every PEC is a left AIC right BC pattern.
PECs have very overactive lower/mid back muscles, including lats and QLs and have limited diaphragmatic function on both sides, so they use their necks and lower backs to help them breathe.
PECs need inhibition hamstrings and internal obliques, facilitated through exhalation to get neutral.
