Do you have any videos on bony islands found in jawbone seen on xray? If you discover a bony island, should you see an oral surgeon to diagnose it to make sure it isn't malignant? Who could give you the right information a regular dentist, oral surgeon?
1. Avoid fermentable carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, chips, etc.) 2. Avoid acidic foods (sugary foods) 3. If it's not avoidable, eat bad foods first then healthy (tooth-friendly) food last such as cheese, which neutralizes the teeth's pH level 4. Xylitol (gum, toothpaste, etc.) 5. Use a straw; less contact time
Eat spicy food and sugary food first and then have yogurt and cheese at the end. This works for me!! I love the eating bad food first and then good food at the end for oral health.
Am i a little bit too late😅😅i love it when she said 'did you know that fermentable carbohydrates are more likely to cause cavities than candy did you know that!!!😂😂😊😊
I’ve been on an anti inflammatory “diet” since last October (6 months trial). Didn’t know I would last this long. Didn’t even think about the benefits to my dental care.
thank you for watching! I think prophy jets are great for certain mouths! some people prefer it, and some dislike! I personally don't prefer it as the patient (I feel like I'm a mess after lol) but each to their own!
Hello Whitney, I am here from your Teeth Talk Girl Newsletter; thank you for this topic. Can you link the TV appearance for viewers, please? It looks like apples, celery, water, and xylitol gum are the best way to end a meal. ☮️💙🦷
YESS! and THANK YOU for being part of the newsletter!!! Here it is: www.nbclosangeles.com/california-live/avoid-summer-tooth-decay-with-these-easy-steps/3183256/ I'll also add to the description box of this video :) Thank you for this!!!
Hello Whitney, thanks for another great and informative video! One small (and probably stupid) question (but here it goes): would it be bad to chew xylitol gum if you have lots of fillings in your mouth (especially on your chewing surfaces)? Would the gum sticking to the chewing areas of the teeth cause the fillings to fall out?
no questions are stupid! chewing gum will not cause fillings to come out! if a filling comes out -- it wasn't the gum that caused it -- it was already compromised! hope this helps!
Apples are acidic, but LEMONS AREN'T... it's a mit, because of their sour flavor, but they are alkaline-forming. What you might have meant is that it may weaken the enamel if you brush your teeth immediately after drinking water with lemon. By the way - I knew about the cheese and I always drink everything with a straw, except water (or now even water, cause I have a 2l bottle with a straw 😂). And one more thing - drinking water after a meal - great, but during - not so much, it can make digestion more difficult by weakening the acids in the stomach.
Is seltzer water acidic? I don’t like sugary drinks but LOVE orange or lime seltzer ( Lacroix bubbly polar, NO sweeteners) but is the carbonation and citrus flavor similar to the harm from soda or citrus juice? If so, it’s easy enough to stick a straw in it!
everyone's teeth are different on how much they absorb staining -- however, yes -- dark chocolate can stain over time! always good to rinse after enjoying :)

same haha dessert first is my jam!
@@TeethTalkDoes that make it any better? 🤔
@@krispiecreme242yes neutralises ph level in the mouth , makes it less acidic and protects against harmful effect.
@@TeethTalk The problem with that is that it's better for your glucose levels to eat your fibrous foods first, then your sweet foods after.
The cheese tip was mind blowing.
I’m shocked 😮
Great tips Whitney! Thanks again ❤
