    hello sir nice teardown, I have some question,
    1)have you noticed any drops in wireless signal from the mavic to the rc,?
    2) in your video, you didn't mention any barometric sensor, is it on the first board with all the ultrasound sensor or on the inner board?

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) I haven't noticed any, but haven't flown mine too much either.
      2) I don't know where that sensor is. Sorry about that.

    Hi Tronics,
    Can I take out just the top component without having to open the bottom parts?
    If so what are the exact tools I need just to open the top components of the drone?
    Just because I'll be needing to order it online as none of my screw driver fits.
    Hopefully you can help me out!
    Something went in where the battery locks (those two little holes) and it went inside so now I have to open the top component just to get it out because i'm afraid it might melt and do something to the drone.

    Nice vid! Quick question..I have 2 mavics, 1 regular pro and the alpine white version. The cooling fan seems to blow softer on the white mavic. It's not as loud and I can tell theres less air that comes out of the rear vents on the white. I noticed this when I was checking for updates while both mavics were on. Both are pretty much still new. Could it possibly be a design change for more efficiency on battery life? Maybe a lower quality fan in the white? Thoughts?...

    Did you use a 1.5 hex for the two middle screws on the bottom plate? It didn't lock for me. What would you do if the screw didn't come out?

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you mean by "it didn't lock for me". If the screw doesn't come out then you have to figure out why it's not coming out and go from there. There's no way for me to know.

    • @joshuamercedtv
      @joshuamercedtv 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TronicsFix LLC I meant that my - 1.5mm is smaller than the screw. I used a 2.0 that was too big. I'm gonna purchase another 1.5 hex driver and try a T5 to see if I can get them out
      . It isn't stripped yet.

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are several things that can cause it:
      1) Cold weather
      2) The Gimbal base plate being out of place
      3) Software/hardware issue (For this you would have to send it in for repairs.)

    Are the metal parts that are covered in thermal paste made of aluminium or some other metal?
    I'd replace it with some liquid metal based thermal paste, but that stuff will destroy aluminium.
    Thanks in advance!

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really don't remember. I think so but I can't say for sure. I would not use liquid metal on them for sure.

    • @Chretze
      @Chretze 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the quick reply, mate!
      Looks like I'm gonna do some more research. The reason I'm thinking of using liquid metal based thermal paste is that I might just squeeze out some extra battery life with a more efficient cooling solution, especially now that summer is on its way...

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's possible but I'd just be extremely careful with it. Not only is it not for aluminum, it is also conductive so you have to be much more careful with the amount you put on. Any that squishes out and contacts other components can cause serious problems.

    • @Chretze
      @Chretze 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the advice! I have been using the stuff for years on all the computers that I've built, even upgraded some old GPU's with it. I'm well aware of its properties, but the performance boost is worth the extra effort if you ask me. So why not give it a try on the Mavic?

    Is it possible to remove the top cover without removing the bottom cover? We've got a Mavic Pro that's not getting any camera output and the gimbal doesn't seem to be receiving any power, so I was thinking that one of the ribbon cables were knocked loose during shipping, and would like to see if we could take a look and potentially fix it, since DJI hasn't replied to us since December about the problem.

      it be good to flyin non gps mode as contoler or screen don't let u select ATTI mode like Phantom controlers do. so flyin inside or if ud want to fly where the quad drifts and don't lock down to one spot (for cinematic shots) wonder if it's as easy as puting tinfoil over top of back to keep the gps locking.

      The GPS receiver is located right at the back of the top cover and connects to the main board with a wire and plug, very easy to disconnect if needed.

    I fly a rotorX Atom V2 so those things are easy to replace parts on, unless u smash the control cube that's expensive, so i was hoping you or someone could link me to a proper camera replacement video for these. I saw the mav 2 camera swap vid and am watching that now too.

    It's funny how the spark looks more advanced under the hood . If the spark had bigger motors and a better camera and obviously a slightly bigger battery it would be freaking insane . Size means nothing if the power of the motors is keeping it stable . The Mavic pro doesn't weigh much more than the spark anyway

    how do you know you won't fry that circuit board with an ESD (electrostatic discharge) without being grounded? I build circuit boards for a living, and have seen what an ESD can do to a board. It doesn't take much to fry a circuit. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be a wise ass. I'm just asking. How do you know you won't?

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Experience mostly. Firstly, I was careful with what I touched with my bare fingers on the circuit board. Secondly most electronics like this don't have the delicate parts that you would need to be careful of ESD with. I've seen what it can do to a board as well and when the situation calls for it I'm very careful about it.

    I think an overhead view would be better. The focus wasn't happy with the constant changing.

    i replaced my fan on my ps4 internal fan and it is still really loud and blows out fairly cold air or room temperature do i need thermal paste??

    • @Tronicsfix
      @Tronicsfix  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you removed the motherboard and didn't put new thermal paste on it then yes, you need new thermal paste.

      Why can't it be a Chinese design because DJI is a Chinese company after all.

    • @wsy987
      @wsy987 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the DJI's R&D team is in Shenzhen, the others (FPGA, video transmission) are in Shanghai. As far as I know, all the engineers are Chinese.
      DJI recently released a video to demonstrate how they figure out the mavic's revolutionary design. But for certain reasons, the "engineers" appeared in that video are actors. The real engineers behind the scene cannot speak English fluently.
