The ribs at Famous Dave’s looked amazing!!!
First time I had Famous Dave's over 15 years ago, I thought it was some of the best bbq. However, these days, I find the quality to be very hit-and-miss and most of the time, more miss.
Yes, sadly bbq is one of those things that vary quite a bit from location to location. Not all cook with passion and love.
The BEST BBQ I ever had was a little bbq place called Mom and Don’s… It was off Torrance Blvd,just past downtown… I’ve never had better… I’m 73 and still remember it 60 years later! Loved your bbq shootout! I’m a fan! Thanks for your videos!!!♥️‼️🙋♀️

Glad your shootout covered both LA and Orange counties as historically lots of us growing up in LA migrated to Orange county. So our families populate both counties. BBQ has to be good due to its cost so can be hard to find places you fall in love with. I've never been to Famous Daves but visually, the food looks good. Have had Lucilles before and it is decent but some may find it not sauced up enough during the cooking process. Some like to control the sauce intensity so just a personal choice. Thanks for the video.
Try Phil's BBQ they are mostly in SD but they have one in Temecula near the mall. There is Calhoun Family Texas Style BBQ in Murrieta Old town which is also very good.

The only Famous Dave's I've eaten at is in Kalispell, MT. I thought it was excellent! Never had Lucille's. I live in TX so we're blessed here! There are very few, if any, FD, in TX

So cute!! Agreed, Terry Black's was amazing (as you saw in our Austin vlog). But that said, that beef rib from Famous Dave's can stand up to the heavy hitters for sure.

Bill it’s funny your friends Derek and Katherine just did a review on Lucilles and they loved the St Louis ribs the best. They didn’t compare to Dave’s though. I’m both restaurants were good. Boy that beef rib at Dave’s was enormous. I was salivating. Thanks for the review.

Loved the video I’ve been to Famous Dave’s and you’re right for a chain restaurant they are good. What makes good bbq is being able to eat it without sauce. If it’s good without sauce then it’s perfect.

We had Famous Daves for the first time years ago at the Mall of America and loved it. Since then Ive been to Victorville and Cascade station in Portland. They have a massive pulled pork burger I would get for lunch but i had to stop because I was too full to work afterwords.. lol

I looked up their menu and they showed brisket plate but I didn't see the beef rib on the menu.

Yes! We love Lucilles happy hour. It's one of our go to's. As for bread pudding, we also love the one at the Raider's Tavern & Grill at the M Resort/Casino in Vegas. If we're ever in town at the same time, our treat!

Haven’t been to famous Dave’s in a long time just because we have so many family owned BBQ places. I guess maybe we should give Famous Dave’s another try.

Wow, we ate at Famous Dave's about 10 days ago. We don't have the Dinosaur Rib on the menu but we do have the brisket and burnt ends. They also have grilled pineapple which is so good!!!!

That beef rib at a Dave's looked awesome. The sides looked good too.
Wow you all were very local to us this weekend!!! It would have been cool to see one more thrown in there “Woodranch Grill” to see how they stacked up but I liked this shootout as well. Must say the first time I tried Famous Daves I was very disappointmed but that was like 10 years ago & never went back. Lucille’s is okay but between the 3 I typically go back to Woodranch. I’ll try FD’s out again though, maybe things have changed.
Sadly, our Wood Ranch at The Grove LA recently closed. =(
The Famous Dave's in Northern California has both Brisket and Burnt Ends.
Menu items seem to change by location. Other locations (per our viewers) don't have the beef rib.
try Mear U Anywhere bbq in Grapevine, Texas. get the sampler platter. Unbelievable!

Well I would like to add one Phil's BBQ they are in Sand Diego, but they have one in Temecula as well.
We've been to Phil's SD location and the one inside the SAN airport, good bbq!
Try Wood Ranch Grill they have fabulous big beef ribs . Love watching your videos

I love them both. But Lucilles Tri Tip sandwich is my favorite.. and the apple butter with the biscuits.. mmmmm.

In MN ( near where we live) we have brisket and burnt ends at our Famous Dave’s, but no beef ribs.

Most FD have brisket as a choice and Scott from Little Miss BBQ has built and sold many of the franchisees smokers and also assisted them to beef cooking on his pits. From the look of those ribs it seems to have helped.
Ahh.. Little Miss BBQ! One of our favs! We need to visit them again for sure.
Yum! Those both look delicious. One thing, though. Lucille's isn't truly a West Coast chain. They are essentially a Southern California chain, with a couple outlier locations in NV and AZ.
Bill ,Lisa love your content. Please try Heritage Bbq. They have Texas style beef ribs and brisket. I love that place. They are located in San juan capistrano California. Eat on!

Hi, I'm in Iowa, Famous Dave's here has brisket, maybe it's a regional thing that they have tri-tip there. We don't have a tri-tip roasts here, I have only had on on the west coast. We also put corn with our Mac and cheese! Great reviews! You two are too Cute!! ❤

I love Lucille's BBQ in Vegas ,especially the tender , amazing baby back ribs with a squeeze bottle of Memphis BBQ sauce , mac & cheese and the biscuits with honey butter . The delicious sweet tea and fresh ,sweet watermelon . Now that I'm living in NJ for the past 4yrs I miss Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ 😭😭the best I've ever tasted !! 💯😋 😍🔥💖

We love Famous Dave's and that's weird because when we get the family meal beef brisket is one of the options. FD used to have burnt ends. Hmmmmm. Fun fact, it started in Hayward, Wisconsin, which is a popular summer getaway location in northern Wisconsin. We love Lucille's here in Vegas but I prefer FD. Enjoy!

Famous Dave’s looked tastier to me. I love that mango cart beer. Tried it in Vegas a few weeks ago and it was so refreshing. Wish I could get it in Hawaii.

Lucile's gave you beef back ribs which have little meat on them. Famous Dave's gave you the beef plate ribs which are huge.

Here in metro Detroit we have the brisket at Dave's but not the tri tip, we also don't have the beef rib. They'd have to come up with a lot of free corn bread to make it worth a $60 rib. I'm from California and really miss the tri tip, they don't sell them here.

Another great video you 2 it's too bad your location didn't have beef brisket at famous Dave's here in Minnesota we love their beef brisket it is awesome and we also ordered the feast for two and you get your choice of beef brisket or pulled pork and they do also have rib tips here in Minnesota that are equally as good just a nugget of information if Bill's ever in Minnesota for training again have a great day.

I like my ribs with just rub only because some places just put too much sauce on the ribs so when you bite into the rib you only taste the sauce only not the meat.
