Train! I haven't gone by Amtrak in years. We took the Lakeshore Limited to Chicago once. Great views and we really enjoyed the on train dining car. A bit pricey but so much fun to watch the waiters dance and set up our meals in the dining car on a moving train. Thanks for bringing back those fun memories! Loving how creative you are being with the travel difficulties these days. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Safe travels!!

We love Old Town San Diego. We always eat at Cafe Coyote. Miss it. Haven't been there in over 3 years. Hope to visit family in San Diego again soon and hit up Old Town.

Looks wonderful guys. I once bought a casino car. It was strictly for driving to the casino. Houston to lousiana (no gambling in Texas). The train idea is great. Our friend is going to San Diego next week for the Astros game. I will tell him about the train. 🍀☀

Old Town San Diego has a graveyard with graves dating back to the mid-1800's. About 20 of the graves were paved over and are now below a sidewalk and street. Those graves were found using ground penetrating radar and are now marked with dots.
Yes, we visited the site. Burial grounds are kept up in great condition.

Wow! I just came back from Old Town San Diego for the 4th of July. I also ate at the Cafe Coyote (I had their Puerto Nuevo style lobster) . It's not a complete visit to Cafe Coyote without their fried ice cream.
I used to work in Old Town and got to dress up as an old timey Mexican señorita lol 😆 foreign tourists always wanted to take pics with me. Couldn't let my fans down so of course I posed for pics hahaha 😛
Next time take Amtrak to downtown San Diego. Beautiful station and walking distance to the Midway, Seaport Village, and cruise port.

Hello! Wow! You two rode the train to my city…wish I would have know earlier, could have done a lunch meetup…hopefully next time! The first and only time I rode the train was from San Diego to San Francisco to meet my best friend, that was a long one. It’s nice riding on the train to watch the coast. I always wondered what the food tastes like on the train. I want to do that cross country adventure one…awesome new fun adventures for the summer! Congrats on meeting and now surpassing 50k!!! My sister moved to San Diego in 1975 and we’ve been to Old Town a few times. It’s always so much fun and the food is😋! We always stop at the Whaley House, too. I went in with a friend and she saw one of the dolls move. I’ve never seen anything weird, tho. When we lived in Alaska we’d take the train from Fairbanks to Denali State Park. I love the train and hope they do build a connection from LA to Las Vegas. My husband has family in Ontario, CA. Have you ever had Graber olives from Ontario? They are the best olives I’ve ever eaten. You can order them online.

Y’all went to OT at a great time 🙂 my kid loves the Amtrak train but sometimes we take the Metrolink from south OC to Old Town or Downtown for way cheaper but there’s no café cabin 😅

LA has a public transit system. Not the best, but maybe you can catch the Expo line to Santa Monica and eat somewhere there? Or go to North Hollywood, at the end of the Red Line, for a meal. Or take the Gold Line to Chinatown, Little Tokyo, and Olvera St.
