Nicolas Pepe is now the worst signing in our history. I'm a fan since 1976, and I've seen some bad ones. He is above all else just lazy lazy lazy, mentally & physically.
I have to side with Lee on this one. It was horrific and entitled team selection by the manager.
Team was good enough to win. Arteta needed to rest top players and league/europa league still priority. Also the logistics of playing Southampton twice in 3 days isn't ideal so all your top players dont travel. Arteta picked a decent, balanced side - players need to take more responsibility

This competition was probably our only chance of a trophy this year and was certainly our best hope for European football next year. No chance of top 4. Needed to prioritize the FA Cup and rotate against Southampton in a few days. Ralph was obviously going to field his strongest team in the FA Cup, Mikel needed to do the same. Plus, then we have a few of our best players rested for MU next weekend.
We played Newcastle on Mon while Southampton played on Tues. They're also above us in the league and I bet they play the same team this Tues, resting players doesn't wash. No excuses for any of the players today. Just poor.

As a defending FA cup champion, selecting bad players is very disappointing to many Arsenal fans. Lee is absolutely correct in his argument and critical perspective. Having a series of tough games ahead in the league was by no means an excuse of poor selection in the important FA cup.
