Aloha, praise the Lord and evening BR family. Keep the faith in God regardless of the circumstances. He will leave nor forsake us. He is where the JOY is!!!❤
“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”” Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT I love this verse so much because this verse simply reaffirms not only God‘s complete sovereignty overall, but also his love. Our God has control over everything, but he also loves his children so much, the fact that we can have a confidence and a constant peace that no matter what happens it will work towards God‘s greater plan. God bless y’all today ✝️💪
When I started 3 years ago, I did not have a regular habit of reading the Bible. And had never read the entire Bible. Thank you Tara Leigh. I’m so excited about starting Year 4 with you on January 1st!!
God delivers on His promises, but not always during our lifetimes. Heb 11:13 says that none of these people received their promise during their lives, but they did not lose faith. Their promise is their legacy, the impact that their lives would have for the Kingdom. I’m seeing the effect that my daughter’s life is having on those who knew and loved her. And now she lives in a promise fulfilled.
My God Shot today was in Hebrews 12:12-"therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees..." I needed to read that. It's so easy to take the 'poor me' road that leads to despair. I have Jesus Christ! "He is the rewarder and He is the reward!"
I needed to read this... I was really starting down a tunnel of no hope and feeling ashamed and hateful towards myself the more I read, the more I feel undeserving...
Lord strengthen our faith in you through your word. Give us hope for things eternal and not of this world. May we be in constant fellowship with you. We are held together by your grace and given hope through your mercy that you gave us on the cross.
Chapter 11 is the real deal. It’s the first book I go to when I find myself down and ready to walk away or throw my hands up. The Faith chapter emboldens me to keep going because all of those warriors of the Faith did not have the Holy Spirit. We do. Praise God. We are equipped to win! Glory to God.
Knowing what a mess and how morally weak Samson was, it always brings a smile to my face to read his name in the list of faith heroes. There's hope for us all! 😅
In 12:1 the author tells us to ”run with endurance the race that is set before us,“ and that there is a great cloud of witnesses, all those mentioned in chapter 11:38 that ”of whom the world was not worthy”, all of them cheering us on from the sidelines pointing to the one that we should be running to, the one that not only will help us win the race, but who is also at the finish line waiting for us, Jesus.
I memorized Chapter 11 as a 5th grader in a Christian School. Such an amazing and full chapter and thankful for the Word that was implanted into me at such a young age. Praise God!
I have been here since day 1! God is SOOOO GOOD! Soo many good nuggets in Hebrews! This is my first time reading through the entire Bible this year, as I have been a believer since 1996 I believe! I love that verse in v. 6 about us coming to him and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him! He is the reward! Don’t you just want to know him MORE? I have really enjoyed reading every single day in His word. It’s truly his love letter to us all! Chapter 12:1-2 also spoke to me- I’d heard it before about us running the race, I am a runner! He is where the joy is! Merry Christmas to you all! 🎄
Good morning bible Family Jesus is the Reason for the Season ❤❤❤ Merry Christmas weekend Have a blessed day in His Presence ❤️🙏🏾 He's where the Joy is ❤️🙌🏾🤗💯
Happy New Year my dear! 🎉 Thank you for your daily greetings; I really appreciate them. May Jesus bless you and yours abundantly in the New Year! ❤️🙏✝️🕊️👼🪽
Continual surrender to what God reveals as His ways is the narrow path. The road in this realm is temporary but our good works will be rewarded in the eternal and now. Trust in His promises; pray with understanding and in the spirit, and seek and maintain fellowship conducive to spiritual growth. This is the work of believing God. The joy is knowing Him more and more intimately!
I appreciated the warning about believing in prayer and watching we don't command God. Also, we are always told to point people to the Gospels as an introduction for understanding God and receiving Christ, but after reading the whole Bible chronologically and digging deep with the Recap, I pray everyone starts pointing to Hebrews first for an overview and context and hopefully a desire to really delve into the OT and NT. Knowing who God is is paramount to a strong and lasting faith.
Whoo whoot I just read book 59 of TBR. Faith in God helps us even in our trials. We may endure hard trials and hard times but God is training us he is forgiving of our sins. May God equipment is to do God will he is giving us what we need to do his will. He is where the joy is Hallelujah. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I struggle with sin. I commit the same sin over and over. I am weighted down with troubled thoughts about my actions, yet I have not asked God for help correctly. I have not repented. I know in my heart that if I give up all control and hand it over to God, He will take the burden. I know that life will be so much better if I give it all to Him. But I fear giving it up. I crave the sense of control. Why can't I follow through and do so? My flesh is so selfish. In grasping for control, I have lost it and have given it to the devil. I really appreciate how Tara Leigh said that "repentance" is "turning away" from the sin we are telling God about and it is different than "confession." I have not turned away from my sin. Ouch. Today's recap hit hard. "In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood." Hebrews 12:4 NIV
11:23 Moses' mother is mentioned as well. And verse 35, the women who received their dead raised to life again, so I wonder if this includes the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:17-24, the Shunammite woman (2 Kings 4:8-37), the widow of Nain (Luke 7:11-16), Martha and Mary (John 11). This was interesting to look up. (Thank you for the inspiration TBR!) Hebrews 11, the recap of recaps.
What does it say about God’s character that Moses “thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt” (Heb 11:26)? He did tell the Israelites that “God will raise up a prophet like me. Listen to Him” (Deut 18:15). But we can’t imagine that Moses knew Christ’s name any more than Jacob knew the name of God who appeared as a man and wrestled him (Gen 32:29), or Samson’s father could understand the name of the Angel of the Lord Who said His name is too wonderful to understand (Judges 13:18). God reveals Himself and His will as we have the capacity, living in our present day and age, to understand Him. We read of the horrific tragedies that the Hall of Faith saints endured in Heb 11, and nothing I’ve endured comes close. And yet they knew that “this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come” (Heb 13:14). So faith is “the evidence of things we cannot see,” like how today’s pain has a purpose (Heb 11:1). We do know that that purpose will be fulfilled in our home, that place where He will sing His love to us, and we’ll be suffused with His love and light.
Hebrews 12:1-2 ESV [1] Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, [2] looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 13:20-21 ESV [20] Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, [21] equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, thank You for enduring the cross in order to save us from our sins. In you, we have joy and peace despite what happens around us. The Lord rewards those who seek Him. And, the reward is more of Him! He's where the joy is!
Absolutely beautiful message today!!! I love the passion/conviction you display in this one! May we all stay steadfast in this race of faith to the Lord God ALMIGHTY! Looking forward to our heavenly home!
Hebrews 11:11, ..."because she considered him faithful who had made the promise." God is a promise keeper and is faithful to keep His promises. It is His doing, not ours. He equips us and works in us (Hebrews 13:21).
I have truly loved reading Hebrews. I need to stop begging and more trust. I would love to know how to pray for my daughter and her husband that don’t believe in Jesus. What can I do?
Stay in God's word every day. Write down Bible verses to help you fight back. Here are a few verses to help you James 4:7, 1 Peter 5:8 and Ephesians 6:11. We need to put on the full armour of God every single day. Ephesians 6:11 ESV [11] Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Praying for you 🙏🙏
The fact that you can tell Satan is getting closer means you are doing the right thing! Keep seeking God, the devil is intimidated and wants to distract you. Stay in prayer and reading God's word so you can be armored up! Praying for you!
I love the Bible Recap and thankful for Tara L Cobble !
Aloha, praise the Lord and evening BR family. Keep the faith in God regardless of the circumstances. He will leave nor forsake us. He is where the JOY is!!!❤
Our Lord Jesus is the great Shepherd of the sheep & equips us "with everything good for doing his will" (Hebrews 13:20-21).
“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?””

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever
Yes, God is a great rewarder . Thank You Father 🙏

Hebrews 12:4 NIV
Hi Tara. There were two women in the Hall of Faith, not just Sarah, but Sarah and Rahab.
Really enjoyed Hebrews! Thanks TLC! Excited to start over with the old "in light" of the new!
Homerun today TaraLeigh, thanks!
God is training us.

I have truly loved reading Hebrews. I need to stop begging and more trust. I would love to know how to pray for my daughter and her husband that don’t believe in Jesus. What can I do?
Praying for you as you witness to them through your life. Keep reading God’s Word and stand firm in your own faith. (I can totally relate)🙏
@ thank you.
The last verse of Chapter 11... Shows the partnership the cloud of witness have with us....
What does the verse mean by they without us
Can someone help me understand how persecution and being sawn in 2 would be discipline?
