    Actually, the programming device part does not work for all ESP32 board models. So the error "Failed to connect to ESP32: Timed out waiting for packet header" appears, and the solution will not to be add capacitor etc. A solution for this is to use other development boards that have different serial converters, for example: ESP8266, ARDUINO DUE that WORKS FOR THIS PURPOSE. The only difference is that, on the Arduino board we take the reset for GND. Apparently there are two types of serial converters in ESP boards, some of them use the chip that has the CH340 driver that WORKS for it PERFECTLY, and others use CP210x driver that works with the esp8266 for this purpose. Some tests that I performed that do not work are: Arduino UNO model DIP and Arduino Mega. All tests were performed on the W10. I hope to help someone avoid the same headache that I had with this problem kkk

    Dude, love the content! Good energy and enthusiasm to keep my ADHD attention and even learned some stuff. At the moment,I am one step deeper, I am working directly with the ESP32-C3 chip and not the chipset. It is impossible to find good content on a minimal circuit for the ESP32-C3 chip (not module). Perhaps a good idea for your next video :)

    Hey, I'm working on a project which uses a battery backup, i saw you used a 250mA 3.7v battery with what i can think is a tp4056 module. I have been studying the sheet of the module and came across the fact that it needs different Rprog (R3 resistor) for different battery current levels.
    Did you change yours in any other way as the one which comes with the module is for 1000mA battery
    do tell me if your project works fine even though?

    Really interesting thanks! I would be interested to see how to design a PCB containing the ESP32 chip and USB programming interface onto a single PCB, if designing a PCB. It's so cheap to get JLCPCB to manufacture boards with SMD components (including the ESP32-VROOM chip) and I am looking at this for shrinking down my next project.

    Excellent! The most important thing I got out of this video is the need for the 2 resistors on those 4 pads. There was nothing in the package to suggest what goes there (I thought the chip had its own pull-up and pull-down where needed). I have an FTDI breakout, but even though the IOs are 3.3V, it's VCC out is 5V, so I'm using the 3.3V power from the dev board. I don't have it programming yet, though, because I don't have the resistors. Maybe I can find out where those resistor pads go and use "real" resistors that I can actually see and handle!

    • @Glanmire3
      @Glanmire3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Without any investigation, I presume those 2 pull-up resistors are for the push buttonts.

    • @johnburgess2084
      @johnburgess2084 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Glanmire3 On my sample of ONE, that was the case. Without the pull-ups, touching, or just getting my finger near the reset button, would cause the module to continuously reset. Sometimes it would not do anything. Adding a single 10k pull-up on the Reset line cured that behavior. It seems to be working fine, even though I did not use a PU on the GPIO 0 line

    Please Friend, I recently purchased ESP8266. Unfortunately the device driver could not install automatically with my version of window 7. After several attempts, I managed to install the driver from sparkfun. I have installed the esp8266 in my Arduino ide library. The problem now is, I am unable to upload a simple code inside the node MCU device. I always get error, "port can't be opened, access denied". If I manage to open serial monitor on code view, I get the following error "port 4 busy" what do I do please?
    Under my computer device manager, esp8266 is installed as com port 4. If I switch USB port for the node Mcu, the com port will change to com port 17. I have no other device with com port except the esp8266.

Will they have readily this Break out board design to supply along with ESP32 Chip. If not available can you post a TH-cam video, the PCB design for the Break up board. It will be very useful for subscribers who can not solder the chip on their own but to use JLCPSB's SMD assembly service. Or at least post/ reply the link where this design is available in internet. Hi, thanks for the great videos you've produced. I'm just wondering if you can consider making a video for programming MQTT to wemos D1 mini using Arduino platform with PubSubClient library or any other library which you find more stable. I would like to subscribe/publish to Mosquito broker in home assistant. I personal find that using Arduino with MQTT provide the most flexible way to introduce automation into home assistant because many people have the basic knowledge of programming Arduino in basic level. The only missing link is integration to home assistant. ESPhome is also flexible but is a bit difficult to pick up due to lack of sharing material in the community. Tasmota is easy but not flexible. Thanks again for your great work.

      @@techiesms I have already solved. Basically I didn't connect GPIO12 to ground, I didn't put resistor between GPIO2 and ground and I have connected NC with GPIO23. After solved these error, I could able to program the esp without problems

    Almost all the ESP32 projects are built and code developed using Arduino IDE which is the main drawback . Though Arduino IDE is great it is not meant for
    product development with ESP32. Must use ESP-IDF to develop products marketable . Just like the Arduino IDE there is a Espressif plugin for VS code which is great .
