  • This video is a tutorial on how to connect the ESP32-WROOM (ESP32-F) to the USB to UART/Serial port converter. After successfully connecting the ESP32-F to the CP2102, you will be able to program it in Arduino. For more details please visit www.lab4iot.com.

This saved me alot of time.
I just wanted to confirm a few things for my self. Now i have. Thanks to you.
I'm looking forward to making a video about deep sleep on the esp 32 for my channel. This is cool

You have BOOT tactical switch on that board for setting ESP32 in programming mode. No need for connecting GND and GPIO0 with jumper wire. Actually purpose of BOOT switch is to do that. Anyway, nice video! Keep it up!

combination is same like 8266 ?
BOTH button press--> release reset first --> then release IO0 button?

    • @abobija
      @abobija 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@sijojohnson Yes it's the same. Press and hold boot button. Then press reset button once. Release boot button at the end.
The goal is to have the boot button pressed in the boot time.

Where is the boot button on that board? I have a mcu running on this esp32 chip with no boot or reset buttons. Is this video the way I should program it since I don't have any tactical buttons?

You save my mind to collapse, thanks for this, now i know that's possible to use a esp-01 serial converter in esp32...

Nice work bro. I have been having an issue to find Schematic( pinout ) to connect ESP32-S3 Wroom to MAX6675 Amplifier with K-type thermocouple. I find Schematic for ESP32 with K-type thermocouple and MAX6675 Amplifier is NOT working for ESP32-S3 Wroom. Do you have any information on this ? please let me know.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us.

We need to Connect more pins for enable wifi or Deep sleep ? Like the esp8266 . I've spent the whole day traing to conect and i only was able to make a led blink whith the bare chip ( no developmen board )

I am not sure I understood everything. You should be able to get into deep sleep without any hardware modifications, just code.

Does the uart supply enough power to the esp32? I have a broken usb port on an esp32 d1 mini and i cannot get it into boot mode using an ftdi. Let me know if you have any advice. Thx for the video.

      Hi Brian,
as far as I remember it did. Usually, all the ESP32 boards have an LDO regulator and the old USB standard should support at least 500 mA. But the best way to test it is to program it via the UART and then connect it to an external supply. This way if it connects to the WIFI, you will know for sure the UART doesn't supply you with enough current and the issue is with the power supply.

@@refikhadzialic6229 i like your suggestion, I was able to get it to work by putting at 1000 uF capacitor between the ground and vcc of the FTDI. Thanks for the tip.

@@henninb Perfect, I am glad it worked out. Sometimes a capacitor can help, most of the time. Sometimes, if the value is too big, it can be messy. I always like to have a working setup so I can compare it in a stepwise manner and locate where I made a mistake :) good luck Brian!
