- Have bought from Lego since August 2. Might be able to go even longer than that now. Lego should stop worrying about sustainability and just try to go back to provide decent product and service.

I need to get that tram before I forget about it. How did that box get smashed in the box and the other 2 didn’t.
There is only one way that happens - they put it in the box like that
Don't ever buy big sets from lego expecting boxes not to be damaged.
Nowadays they even pack large sets in individual cardboard boxes that fit tightly which are then put in a larger shipping box.
Because the train set is near the same size as the shipping box (the shipping box is just deeper). Shipping box gets crushed, the large box inside gets crushed. The smaller two get pushed out of the way and not get crushed. The shipping box and train box even got crushed the same way, on one end.
For me personally, I recycle 95% of the LEGO boxes I acquire, so as long as the contents are still there I do not really care what the box condition is. That being said, it is still a very bad practice for shipping companies to be damaging boxes, and there really is no excuse for boxes to arrive they way they often do.
I believe LEGO FATIGUE IS REAL. I prefer to buy used LEGO and sorting through it is more fun than actually building anything these days. It's maybe I'm just in a low point right now and that Jabba's Sail Barge is the antithesis of that disappoint of so many LEGO sets these days, however they are more detailed and I believe many of them are overpriced, I just don't see myself needing to get as many new sets nowadays as I was in the past. I like to get excited when I see deep clearance deals and I'll grab up a lot of them on clearance, I've seen them on the shelf for almost their entire run and I'm like ("why am I still doing this?").
At least the batman one wasn't smashed.
I rarely order from LEGO, but when I do, it’s very hit or miss with the quality of the boxes. Lego really needs to pack better.

Why do your boxes always smashed? That never happened to me. That is probably your carrier and not Lego.
I have done a few videos in the past ok why I would blame Lego and not the carrier. If they were packed correctly - they would have been far less likely to get damaged. Also some of my have been received damage with no damage to the box - meaning they were already damaged before the guy in the warehouse even picked the order
@@BrickTsar I know, I've seen all your videos, but I never had that happen to me and don't know anyone who received smashed boxes either. I just find it strange you get so many of them in that condition.
@@TonyMontanaDS judging by the comments I’ve gotten it’s not a rare occurrence - a lot of them there do. Definitely not all are smashed
Just last week I got a shipment from Romeoville and one from the las Vegas facility. Neither box had damage on the outside but they crammed my Ninjago gwp between the bigger set and the shipping box edge and it was crushed. The Vegas one had no issues. It was definitely the Romeoville facility at fault.
I have that tram too, still have to build it but I need more ( _inhaling_ ) *_SPACE_* . We did not get the opportunity to buy/get the Batman 8-1 in EU.
It must be your local courier that squashes the boxes - i buy from LEGO S@H all the time, and hardly ever had a squashed box, and these are shipped over from Europe to mainland UK. I guess the UK handling and couriers give more love the boxes, and not overload their vans.
P.S Stop buying LEGO - im sure you could build most of the sets from your existing inventory, and from lost/forgotten sets behind the fridge, Comic Books, Chima Over stock, and Play Mobil :)
@@doubledeckercouch6251 yea that’s I possibility and does happen but I was like how come the only packages I get that are damaged come from Lego? This one the damaged set appears to have been put in the box that way. Like it was already damaged.

i dislike the 4 wide footprint, but i suspect that the set designers used the airport shuttle monorail train as inspiration.

My stuff is damaged everytime I order from them now. The Insider buying promo thing is stupid. Should bring back better promos and make them tied to a purchase threshold. Like when we could do promo stacks. They making money cause everything full price where you can order it from Walmart or Target for at least 20-30% off.
There's a lot of cool parts in the camping set.
I'm sorry you keep receiving badly smashed boxes. I would be shocked if that happened to me, because I've never had any delivery problems so far in Australia. 🤞
I quit buying after the D-11 came out. I had around 150 sets between SW and Technic, and some vintage 80's sets. The prices on this stuff is ridiculous. The last 4 I remember buying were the D-11, the Star Destroyer, the AT-AT, and Mos Eisley. A year ago I dumped almost all of it at a swap meet cheap. Just got tired of it. They make these huge sets and charge an arm and a leg, to get what? A crushed set.. I saw the new Sail Barge and I really wanted it for about 2 seconds till I found out it is probably $500.. I'm curious if Lego's sales are tanking from the economy. I went to my local B&M shop, and they aren't even buying stuff for cash cause they are super saturated with stuff.

It still amazes me how it's 2024 and LEGO still cant mail sets to customers without the box being damaged and looking like it's been through heck and back. But I did order this set as I like the look of it.

Keep on ranting! And you should contact LEGO customer services every time you get a smashed box. As I see it, the box i part of a new set, if it wasn't they could just use a regular blank box!
You’re right. I just feel like it’s a hassle but it’s the only thing that makes sense to address the issue. I know they’ll want me to return the smashed one and if call to complain
You have every right to expect the sets you buy from Lego to arrive in pristine condition. But it obvious that Lego does not care. I would stop buying Lego from their website. Sure, you will not get the “Insider” points, but really what are they worth? 5% of your purchase? It is a pittance. I would only buy sets locally, like from Walmart. Lego will make a lot less money from you, and if enough people start doing that, Lego may address the problem. Until then, I would only buy Lego exclusives online, and sets you only intend to part out to get the exclusives.

Come on Lego you guys can do better than that! Looks like somebody had lunch on top of that box or they use it to reach a box that was higher up on the truck. Very bad shipping. They would probably find a way to crush a poly bag. keep up the good work Joseph, thank you for the great videos!

Funny enough I bought the same item because I had to use my code for one of the mini ninjago sets before it expired. Luckily Romeoville was kinder to mine.
With respect, they do care on how you receive the sets! Did you contact them, if not and too be fair, you shouldn’t “rant” or “not rant” on TH-cam.
We received many of sets from Romeoville with some major damage to the shipping boxes and the sets inside. Sent Lego a help ticket and they emailed a return label, as well as they sent a replacement set overnight. However, I received the replacement and it was worse…from Romeoville!
So, I called Lego and they were super nice. Sent another return label and another overnight replacement, which came perfect this time. Plus they gave me 1000 lego points as a nice gesture. Cool part was I sent pics of my Lego City and all the unopened boxes we have; thereby, explaining the reason why it was important to receive undamaged boxes.
Again, you should call them about this shipment, and then make an update video to show your results….
I did not start this video with the intent to rant. I merely showed what I got. To say I shouldn’t though is ridiculous. Why don’t they just fix the problem? It’s a hassle to have to send back everything I get. Did you not see the video where the replacements they sent me were worse than the originals and I had to do it again ?

However, the issue is not Lego, it’s usually the shipper(s) fault. And, with bigger boxes they tend to get the worst damage because they go on the floor or lower shelf that gets other things stacked on top of them or they get hit by the dolly multiple times.
IMHO, Lego is really good about solving problems like this because it’s a PR thing. Also, not saying you shouldn’t rant, I’m just saying folks should always reach out to Lego Group first….😁
