- THE SKYLINERS (Jimmy Beaumont, Nick Pociask, Donna Groom, Dick Muse and drummer/musical director Mark Groom) perform the group's doo wop classic, "Since I Don't Have You" in Worcester, MA in April of 2008.
Such a beautiful song and so many wonderful memories of a time that I still miss many decades later 😢
The female falsetto in this song done firstly by Janet Vogel and later by Donna Groom is an iconic moment in rock history

Jimmy had one of the greatest voices and of course this song is an out and out classic.
Let's give credit where credit's due. I'm sure Janet Vogel would be proud to have Donna Groom singing her part. Gotta admit Donna does a pretty damn good job of it. I'll be 75 years old been singing and playing doo-wop since I'm 10yrs old I've played with many groups. I know Talent when I see and hear it... we all started doing it for the love of the music, it had little or nothing to do with the money. So many groups never made anything and should have gotten everything. I'll still play and sing if some group needs me. I still love to perform Doo wop. It's either in your blood or it isn't.

Doesn't get much better than this. What was great about the music of the 50's and 60's is it was color blind. If it was good, you bought it and you listened to it. Can you imagine NOT listening to this or any Motown record? Won't happen in my house. Love it all to death.

I feel for ya brother. I lost my wife of 50 years a year ago and I'm in tears now writing this as this was her favorite song. We used to dance to this in the living room. I'd hold her tight and tell her I that I loved her. She's gone now. I struggle to go on.

What a group.....and the inimitable sound! The first orchestrated rock n roll song. Still in vogue today!!!! Yay Pittsburgh and Jimmy Beaumont (from my alma mater, Carrick H.S,) from the city itself. Pittsburgh was the hub of so much doo-wop. What a great heritage I had to be part of it!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing The Skyliners on February 10, 2013 at the Tanglewood club house in Sebring, Florida. At the conclusion of the show I shook Jimmy's hand and said to him that I thought Since I Don't Have You was the greatest Doo Wop song of all.

Donna Groom was the perfect fit to replace the incomparable voice of Janet Vogel. I would say they still got it but they never lost it in the first place. Sad to have lost Janet, was a she rare vocalist.

Thanks Alec . I have seen that clip & this one though great it;s not as good as their performance at the Doo Wop specials on PBS with that fantastic band behind them & Donna's husband Mark on drums. Those clips are so clean & you can really hear donna hit those awesome high notes . These guys & Jimmy havent lost a thing over the years. There is a really nice clip of Mark & Donna doing the song At Last where Donna plays all the keyboard parts of which there are three including the Bass parts that she does with her foot pedals. All those parts & the awesome vocals all at the same time ,man that woman is amazing. Again thanks for share.

Don’t remember what Captain Taylor wanted but as I stood in front of his desk I looked up at the wall behind him and there was hanging a gold record. ..I used to imitate the lead singer tremendous harmony and Donna was such a great singer ..it bring tears of emotion ,memories, of my teen age years when my friends an my brother we used to sing in the subway station in New york city to obtain an echo and sing these beautiful oldies but goodies song and since I don't have you was one of our favorite group at that time...
