Wonderful and informative video. I became fascinated by the perfume making process in India (Business Insider TH-cam episode) and have just placed my first Attar order of 7 bottles by M. L. Ramnarain-many featured in this video. I’m even more excited now because of your beautiful descriptions. Many thanks!
Nikhil, I haven’t seen another man that can rock a mustache quite like you, friend. Keep it classy brother 👍🏻 As always enjoyed your content! Also many many thanks for all the great attars you’ve introduced me to. 🙏🏼✌🏼
I wasn't an attar person 4 months ago. I had actually brought one because I wanted to get a strong perfume during my travel that was small enough to fit in my pocket (the western bottles take a lot of space, and its usually not travel friendly). I actually loved the smell, and wanted to try to search the internet about its constituents. Your videos were the first to inform me about it letting me know that it was a oud preparation(found out later that it was a synthetic oud) and the concept behind using oud as a perfume. I fell in love with your videos and your way of presenting the Indian side of things(unfortunately I wasn't aware of such rich Indian history when it comes to perfumes as well). Its been 4 months(almost 5), and for some reason, I have become a big fan of traditional attars, absolutely love them. I currently have no plans to return to the western perfumes when I can use a much better perfume (just my opinion), straight out of my pocket whenever and wherever I want. PS: recently brought an attar shamama(unfortunately I do not know the house it came from), and it absolutely smells divine. PPS: Thank you a lot Sir for making such informative, easy to understand videos for the general public and letting them know about the rich perfume industry in India. Jai Hind !
Just tried , ruh khus and shamama. Your description could not be anymore accurate. They are so vivid and pleasant instant mood lifter. Thank you paaji.
Nikhil, have seen few of your videos, u r too good and I m amazed with your depth in knowledge regarding ittar. I have started using ittar recently n I m loving it
Nikhil Sahib, I stumbled on one of your videos by chance 2 days ago and I’m now determined to watch your entire series. This is perfume chat that is accessible and engaging! I lived in Delhi for many years and used to love finding perfumers and attar suppliers in the Old City. Your videos stir up so many great memories. Thanks for posting these and future editions. I only wish you’d come to the US and teach a basic, hands on course.
I am very lucky that I have all these attars which are reviewed...as I am very old subscriber some 2 years or may be 1.6 years back Nikhil has done the review and I bought it...most important thing M L Ramnarain perfumer Mr.Pranjal bhai is very humble and respond to the all customers and reply there msgs....Guys you must have all these attars in your collection. 👍
Hi Nikhil, I started following your channel for last six months. Your channel is the most informative channel about perfume. You not only review the perfumes and attars but also explain the aspects about fragrance. Based one your earlier review about Ruh Khus, shamama and other attars from kannauj, I had ordered Ruh Khus and Attar Miiti from M.L.Ramnarain. These attars are the best and I now prefer these attars than Western perfumes. This week I received jannet e ward and shamama. I think all these are smells divine and cannot be substitued. Thanks for introducing to these oils and attars. They are not very expensive for theier quality. Thank you once again for all the information you are sharing with us.
Well nikhil I am from Kannauj and ironically a attar munfacturer ....so far shamama maker I can proudly say that shamama runs in my veins I am 6th generation of attar manufacturer of my family...
Dr Nick Ruh Khus from MLR is the best Atr or scent on this planet. Pls don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I am going to order a whole kilo of it. I blended it with Indian oud and Ruh Gulab and I am in heaven. Thanks so much.
Like you, I love the scents of perfumes, by making ourself, Your videos are very good. Those like us who love PERFUMES and try to make it, are interested in watching more videos like this
A treat to watch. Recently i purchased ruh khus... ₹1000 per tola. Its too good. I also got a mix... 1/4 tola of white rose in 3/4 tola of ruh khus to get two tone smell
Dear Nikhil, this video is really the answer of my prayers!! I was so into traditional attars 4 years ago, but also searching alone.. So after a fine mitti, and a wonderful sandalwood oil, the oud attar purchase which was a disaster, stopped me from exploring farther. Now i feel confident with your help to continue. Thanks so much for this! I am constantly in awe with your knowledge and sensitivity :)
Thank you ever so much for your work here and for sharing your passion. I just simply wanted to tell you how much I sincerely appreciate and enjoy your channel. I can feel your love for and commitment to understanding what moves you, and that approach deeply resonates with me and lifts my spirit. Thank you. Btw, here in the US, there is a lovely company I have purchased many Indian (and other) products from: White Lotus Aromatics. They haven't posted there for a while, but I'm hoping that you will enjoy learning about them and their journey in India. I hope that you will understand that I'm sharing this from the heart with no ulterior motive, in the hopes that you will enjoy it and feel inspired learning about kindred spirits across the globe. I love your depth and passion on this subject. It is an absolute treat to listen to you talk about these fragrances. I'd love to buy my first ittar very soon. Thanks a lot! 🙂🙏
How can someone accuse of you of fake reviews? I myself have contacted ml ramnarain and the reply was so detailed and enlightening!!! Thanks for showing us such beautiful things.
Oh my I missed this video - haha - this is great, I'm so happy that we are lucky enough to be able to try such an ancient tradition, by such professional artisans. I'm sad to think that they might not pass down their trade to the next generation. These are artifacts meant to be cherished. Ruh Khus is beautiful, it has a peanut oil undertone, with a soapy and Smokey vetiver note, the oil is very thick and sticky. I have the Ajmal variety.. French Vetiver (Terre D'Hermes, Timbuktu, Encre Noire) to me is more based around the isolated molecule Vetiveryl Acetate. Description of Vetiveryl Acetate: (All the velvety-smooth character of the best vetiver, but without the harshness or smoky-notes that can be present in the natural oil. Produced from vetiver oil from Haiti - widely regarded as the best you can buy. This is the very top quality of acetylated vetiver oil.) Is Mehndi also referred to as Hina? I have this "Hina oudh" attar, it has a nice powdery, sweaty, woody note.. Jasmine I've seen also under the name Raat Ranni (this could be the night blooming variety only)
Ajmal Ruh khus is so so....i think they sell 2 grades of RUH khus Grade A and GRADE AA.........if you really want to enjoy you can get AGED RUH KHUS it does not have thoes harsh rootTy earthy notes its has very sweet smell.....TUST me you will forget every HAITIAN VETIVER.......yes MEHNDI is also called hinna........Raat ki rani is a variety of jasmine flower that blooms at night.....its an nocturnal flower also known as HARSINGAR and its attar is called RUH HARSINGAR
@@abhisheknarayandhyani731 I've since found THE best vetiver, it's called Vetiverol ex Haitian Vetiver, and's its the vetiver alcohol. If you mix some of this with Veteveryl Acetate, South Indian vetiver, cashmeran, and methyl pamplemousse, and alpha-hexyl cinnamic aldehyde you have a bad ass Vetiver Attar (in fact thats how Encre noire is made). South Indian vetiver and Haitian vetiver aren't similar, they are different oils. You'll find large amounts of Khusimol in Haitian vetiver, funny not so much in South Indian vetiver.
@@david-Davidson i have tried Vetiverol ex Vetiver Haiti compositions no denying its a fantastic material and i also own several other Haitian Vetiver oils from different distillers and i appreciate them.......But i was not talking about South indian vetiver i was talking about North indian vetiver in south india vetiver is acquired via Steam distillation and it is brown in colour just like Haitian vetiver but in North india it is acquired via Hydro distillation in Copper pots which gives it green colour from reacting with copper.......What i am asking you to just try Minimum 20 years Aged NORTH INDIAN vetiver i.e ALIGARH RUH Khus trust me you will love it..

Nikhil Sir can you make a video and introduce us, your fascinated viewers about Mitti attar? And guide us how we can buy the right mitti attar? And which brand will be better?
i think it also makes a difference if you dry the vetiver or distill it fresh. maybe dried vetiver which is steam distilled is browner in colour and fresher one is hydro distilled and greener in colour
