The frustration just gradually evolving was the best part for the commentators.

@@juanmartingutierrez3524 That's a good analogy. Game and Watch is extremely light, so Kazuya needs only to hit him once to KO him, but he has to catch Game and Watch first, and that's not easy, considering how much more mobile and unpredictable Game and Watch is.

Its not lol. Its a very good match up for GnW. Kazuya has the actual worst disadvantage state in the entire roster and Game has arguably the best.
Miya is insane as G&W. He managed to beat Riddle's Kazuya for 2 sets in a row. His adaptation is amazing. He's probably the best G&W in the world at the moment

Riddles went to the Miya restaurant, got a 3 course meal, got food poisoning from each dish, got desert, got food poisoning from that, then went back to get a $100 dollar gift card to the place.
The narrators are so biased towards Riddles that it hurts, every BS that MGAW did was received like "That's BS!" but every BS made by Kazuya "That is so cool!". The narration hurt a lot.
Why do commentators give so much preference to just one player? It is very noticeable that they only celebrate Riddles' plays and even lament when Miya gets a stock. Miya played amazing and made great plays against a character who can wipe you out with a grab.
I found it nicely balanced out my personal rooting for Miya
because they are american commentators. There was another set of Japanese commentators probably just rooting for Miya. It's like with world cups and stuff.

Riddlesはカズヤを使ってmaister のGnwに勝ち越しています。
The reason is Terry’s shield pressure game is completely nullified by GnW’s Up B. Along with escaping combos and not being able to air to air him. It’s not impossible, as GnW dies early, but it is a really hard losing matchup.
G&W is like top 3 worst Terry MUs lol.
Terry relies really hard on shield pressure, which pretty much ceases to exist against G&W

I’m glad you portrayed the commentary perfectly. Even if you’re biased against who you want to win you should treat each person with respect as they both worked just as hard to get there and everyone is listening to how bias you are when you are like these guys. It makes this insane game boring, annoying, horrible to listen to, and painful
This is why and how having super armor can work against you and create bad habits. Since Kazuya can punch through everything kaz players tend to mash through traffic instead of having to strategically space in neutral.
Riddles kept trying to mash through hit boxes and got destroyed for it.
I dont think you understand the neutral for Kazuya. Yes you are correct he did try to fight it, but there is no way kazuya can actually approach a GnW who understands the matchup. Maister when facing Riddles did NOT know the matchup. It is so easy to look at all of riddles gameplay and blame his neutral game with Kazuya when he loses.
He is literally the BEST at neutral with Kazuya. Tea has a better punish game. There is no way you are catching a GnW that knows what he is doing without iframing or powering through one of his aerials. Kazuya aerial mobility and ground speed even with wave dashes does not allow that.

In 2022 he even co-mained terry and kazuya with majority of his matches/wins being with Terry. Kaz use to be just a counterpick.

Yes kazuya has helped him become a stronger player but he was literally a top 8 player beforehand. Ofc he's gonna get better results, he has more counterpick options and has improved as a player.
The same argument can be made with SPARGO before he dropped mythra completely.
Spargo was getting better results in the first year and a half after mythra got released. Before then he was just a wifi cloud ppl knew was solid. Now that he CHOSE to stick with cloud thanks to Leo showing him any good character can win, people can't say he's carried anymore.
Riddles has showed already his Terry can do the same as kazuya as long as it's not an unfavorable matchup for Terry.
Riddles played well considering the MU, but Miya came out on top. Good performances by both players and I was on the edge of my seat.

as a game &watch main this was satisfying. I'm a old smash player so i dont keep up with all new characters but kazuya did 3 hits and killed from 0 to death. thats broken as hell
Kazuya is the character with the most immediate accessible moves in the entire roster so he has many options, diversity, and non-predictable play which makes him very strong but also hard to use, however while kazuya does absolute tons of damage, game and watch is very light like bottom 5 weight so he dies very early

I don't think it's that hard of a matchup. Yeah, his disadvantage state is bad, but G&W is light and dies in very few interactions so that makes up for it.
Kazuya is heavy as heck, most of the time die at 150+%, compare to gnw light character, i would say gnw is in disadvantage here, tyvm
@@legrandliseurtri7495 The issue isn't just disadvantage. The problem is that characters like GnW and Luigi have stupidly good options to get out of combos. So for a character that relies on neutral/advantage for everything like Falco/Fox/Kazuya, you can just can't get anything started on them.
All through this set, Riddles lands what should be the start of a nasty Kazuya moment, only for Miya to up-B out before he gets any real damage.
So yes, even though I'm someone who doesn't like Kazuya very much, this is a pretty rubbish matchup for him, and I do feel for Riddles

I know this was over a year ago but probably genuinely my least favorite/worst commentary I have had the unfortunate experience of hearing. I can’t even start on the bias bc they were blatant abt it, straight up admitting it and screaming it at the top of their lungs. This is grand finals, not your personal stream. It wasn’t even commentary they just said “yea..yea good advantage state from Miya LETS GOO RIDDLES USA USA USA KICK HIS ASS” like never commentate again man just join the crowd if all you want to do it root for a single side. I understand the feeling but the commentary booth should not be the place, especially for the biggest set of the tournament. I’m pretty sure I could’ve handed a mic to my 7 y/o cousin and asked them to describe what they see happening on screen and it would’ve been better commentary. Congrats to Miya (ik this was a while ago) it was still a good set to watch
