Simon, Tibbs, Timons, Steve... This is the best Protocol line up ever!
for sure
Absolument magnifique les virtuoses ! Juste magique ! Quel talent vertigineux est ici , c'est juste fantastique !
Simon' a guru in drums. A super power drummer of all time
I first saw Simon Phillips with Jeff Beck in the late '70's. Until that concert I'd never seen anybody play with the fire and power of Billy Cobham-until that concert. I have now been listening and watching Simon for 40 years and he is as inspiring, powerful and inventive now as he was in that revelatory Beck concert from way back when.
Yes, saw him too on the "There and Back" tour. Powerful stuff.
Wow. What a band. And Andy Timmons... good grief what a player.
This amazing introduction by Steve Weingart reminds me a bit of the beginning of Allan Holdsworth's "Wardenclyffe Tower".
I love this song... at any time of the day. But what I love the most, is driving in my car in the countryside ereeeeearly in the morning, just when the daylight starts to appear, and this song on... so relaxing, and so much emotions... that is so darn refreshing.
on October 28th Simon will be back to the Spirit of 66, I'm looking forward to record a further video :-)
An absolute first class performance by each one of these accomplished musicians. It just doesn't get better than this.
Superb Highly skilled drummer
Lagu yg selalu enak didengar.
Dulu ketika saya akan bermain bersama band ditiap acara show. Sebelum acara dimulai, pasti mendengarkan lagu ini, simon phillips benar² memberikan energi diatas panggung.
Simon Phillips casual right hand stick check at 11.05! impressive.
Great song this is from my favo musicians.
A deaf and blind person didn't like this awesome and amazing band!
what am i saying..people forget about this whole band and thats kinda sad..they are great
Sounds good,pure, and cool...awesome!
Awesome clip.
Good news about fire and a CD plant.
The best to overcome obstacles has been proven.
Phillips awards a promise!
I say, "Jolly good show," and I'm not English.
Great footage and stellar performance. Some quality comments below as well, thank you Stu for calling out the "casual stick check" at 11.05. That was awesome 👌
In case anyone was wondering, kumi [ten] na [and] moja [one] is Swahili for 'eleven'.
You'll have to turn that volume knob up to 'kumi na mbili', [twelve] Nigel... ;-)
Simon is so good.
great guitarist especially coming out of the Hair metal scene , not many of them could play and expand musically this soulfully with a great tone like him. Greg Howe being another
Simon worked with in this band ,he was from the shred guitar world , fun to watch musicians of this caliber , keep it alive ! . I like to hear Simon and Scott Henderson jam.
They need to make a dvd !
What i like about smon its his kindness and he s very humble
I agree. I seen many gigs where he's bringing out the best in young musicians and they clearly thrive. Very unselfish.
A true artist without a big head as we say in brussels
FANTASTIQUE GUITARISTE !
Sans compter tous les autres magiciens bien sur !
i don't really know what to spect when i listen to this song.......it just touching.......
Magnificent! Different configuration, all immensely talented and very entertaining. Hope to see the ‘22 Protocol once again in Oakland at Yoshi’s. I want to find out if Simon had the Cosmopolitan and liked it. I owe him a drink. Thank you guys.
people forget about Andy Timmons and i really dont know why..
+Lorenzo Rizzardi Seen him a couple of times and have his CD's. AMAZING player! He should be way more famous than he is. What a tone.
I don't think they forget. They don't know Andy. Andy needs to tour with his band more often.
@@ez1dog2these days it is unfortunately impossible to go on tour!
Great!!!
Lovely
yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!!!!!!!!
how right on: "the band" wow.

Andy is not Jeff Beck, Mr.Phillips is a monster. Relaxed and textbook performance by him.
Haha, Kumi na Moja, that's how you say ''eleven'' in Swahili, a central and east-african language.
I wonder how they did come up with a title like that!?!
The song is in 11/8, so my guess is you have your answer right there:)
+Edouard Gahini songs in 11.
They play the 11/8 most of the time 5/4 plus one 8th then in the second part a 12/8 minus one 8th.
I'm pretty sure everyone's already commented on the 'eleven' thing, but as for how it came about...
Well, Simon famously played drums with Toto (Kiswahili for 'child'), so I imagine he's spent a bit of time thinking about these things. ;-)

부탁드릴께요!^^
Edouard Gahini, that was funny. You got a music lesson.
Anybody else notice how depressed Ernest Tibbs looked at the end? .... and the guy is an amazing Bass Player
I think he's only happy when he's playing hehe
I can basically not hear the bass at ALL. Barely, it almost sounds like hes not even playing. Otherwise pretty great stuff. 😁😀
it sounds like Jeff Beck
No no
Completely. One of the best Jeff Beck impersonations I ever heard. The intro is like "where were you?".
Andy Timmons is obviously a JB fan.
You won’t find a bigger Jeff Beck fan than me, unless it’s Andy Timmons.
.. Uber sublimity in 11/247.9999 recurring to the power of E = MC2 ,.. Bring that gig to London, Super Si,.. :oD
I prefer andy timmons...
