On a trip to colonial Williamsburg, the fife and drum corps marched out playing this, and my then 5 year old son fell in with the column, and even managed to stay in step. I could only think “we spawned a Tory!”.
The music is great , seeing the original Union Flag is a real bonus.
That is so well done, thank you for all the work.
I truly appreciate your kind words!
@@kinggeorgeiii7515 your work is something to be appreciated. I am involved in a research project on a obscure battle of the American Revolution. The Battle of Bennets Island and I work with family members of the combatants from both sides it is a true honor

Love the profile picture! From experience, try the loose leaf, just use a fine tea steeper and shake the finer bits into a tin.

In all honesty... yes i'm listening this in 2023 when there is the british team in a game
Time to rebuild the Empire!
My king what should we do now
"The World Turned Upside Down" was played by the British (in desultory manner) as they surrendered at Yorktown, Virginia.
Lilibulero (Bolero?) is one of my favorite fife and drum tunes. I was a drummer with the 9th Pennsylvania Regiment of the Continental Line (Brigade of the American Revolution) from ''74 -'77) I made my own museum quality drum from unfinished Ludwig shell and rims. Linen ropes and catgut snares, blacksmith made tensioner.
Though apparently that Yorktown tune story isn't true.
For king and country !!!!
I wonder what happened in New Zealand...
What happened in new zealand?
@@stibh5456 There was a mass shooting in a mosque in New Zealand where the killer did a live stream. This song was blaring in his vehicle while he went out and proceeded to kill 51 people.

It’s just I’m from America
Why was the Yankee doodle in ther the song is the usa
Not originally!!
It was the hit song of a London stage musical, _The Disappointment._ 1768.
The Lobsterbacks carried it to America, where it considerably tickled the Colonists' sense of humo(u)r too.
Since it makes a peppy March, it was extremely handy. Any battalion that could muster a single fife could play it to effect; the rest is history.
British tune.. Irish players.
How so? These players are from Canada and the United States.
He means it the soundtrack from the film 'Barry Lyndon', and that the men seen playing and marching in this scene were in Ireland at the time of filming, and so then... must have been Irishmen?
