I'm a Muslim and a neuropsychologist myself. And I just want to say thank you' we really need people like you explaining this important topics. Because we have Muslims who refuse to get psychology therapy when they need because they think it's haram, and you have the total opposite ones who use random videos found on the net to explain their feelings instead of getting therapy and returning To God.

With also the help of psychology and counseling conversation i watched through social media platforms. I used to understand the behavior of my mom who elaborates some of narcissistic symptoms. So, what used to be, Hate towards her, it turned out to be understanding. What used to be endless arguments with her, i stop opening talks that will triggers her. I was cautious about what I will say next to her even sometimes I feel the urge to say or defend myself. But through the help of psychological therapy videos I watched online. I grasped all the positivities it delivers. I now set boundaries (not being ARROGANT) but setting aside what triggers the behavior of my mom. Rather, what used to be a Toxic meeting turns out to be a meeting full of understandings. Thus we parted ways after with a light heart. No bad arguments. So i think psychology do help somehow with also the involvement and guidance of Qur'an as well.

mmm... well a lot of the times it is actually the parents that are arrogant, mistreat their children however they feel like with no limits or boundaries to stop themselves or have any self reflection on their behavior. While the mistreated child is confused and in pain and becomes angry over time. My understanding of Islam is that it is a very well balanced religion where both the parents and the children have rights and duties and both should respect each other and treat each other kindly.

To add on. Shaytan can and will come to play with your mind (give you waswasa) using psychology when you 1. Don’t include Allah and 2. Actually speak to professionals in psychology, etc. We all have to be very careful with this.

I think, there's no wrong when people trying to solve their problem thru speak to psychologist. It's part of the effort to heal themselves, besides seek for Allah's help and guidance of course. If we learned from the islamic psychology history, ibnu sina was also became pioneered in mentally sickness treatment. For me, what to concern when we need the professional help is to choose the islamic counseling with true psychologist muslim. Nowadays there are many counseling offers islamic method. So just don't think that we are bad and far enough from Allah if we need to speak to professionals.
My point is there's huge difference between speak to professional as our effort to solve our problem and listen to the unclear information about psychology that disconnected with the God. May Allah take care of our mind and soul.

@@dikanur5660 It seems you may be misunderstanding, my friend. I never said psychology is wrong or is against Allah or Islam and I don’t think he’s saying that in the video. The point being made is to not go too far on your own with psychology. My studies in psychology and I can tell you many can easily misunderstand, misdiagnose, and go down the wrong understanding in many areas if they don’t ask a professional. So we have to be careful not to just go around trying to diagnose ourselves, others, etc. Its ok to gain understanding, some learning, but still seek professional help. Also, to be careful with certain psychological concepts that may divert far away from Allah and Islamic teachings. To add on, I said always include Allah because Allah is the one that heals in the beginning and at the end. You won’t divert in the wrong way when you include Allah.

@@ThatsMADDDare u majoring psychology? Can i ask u, how I can recognize my bad pattern? Like the way I think. I've had a counseling with local psychologist here, but she ended the session saying I don't need any therapy session anymore. We just did 3 session😅 ofcourse i have an improvement in my mood, focus and concentration. But i still have lingering feelings about distrust and hate towards people. I don't feel like I can be the nice and kind person as I was before. Also I don't feel like socializing or connecting to new person, I think everybody is busy with their own life's problem and almost everybody who have their own family wouldn't bother someone else outside their little family. I feel like I must live on my own, coz eventually human will die alone. So I strongly questioning "human is a social being", we only be social if we need something thats the most understandable point of view for me. I just feel like I live alone in this world.

Positive psychology is a separate branch designed for people who are experiencing depression. What is so wrong about feeling happy?
Whoever does good, either male or female, will lead a good life.
It is a promise in the Quran.
Why are muslims so critical about being happy?
There is nothing thst says you cannot enjoy halal thing.
We seem to have guilt around feeling happy. Why is that?

I beg to disagree on one thing, Psychology is not solely dedicated to making people feel happy and its not even the essence of it. Perhaps, what you are talking about is those woke psychology content creators who exploit psychological terms for content and clout. But if you watch genuine psychology content creators, they are very cautious about giving people the idea that they can self-diagnose or use psychological terms as weapons or adjectives to label people.

Means what about Good Akhlaq then which is required when dealing with such matters. Yes, sometimes you need to take actions for yourself, but not all the time it works out. Sometimes you have to deal with it with patience and making Dua so that Allah makes it easy for you.

As you said, narcissists do exist! In one of your lectures, you had said that if your brother is an angry person, we can keep respectfully distant from him... it's not wrong to stay away from toxic or abusive people, is it..? Please also add that part to your lecture! By the way, telling the harsh truth is not gaslighting. The opposite is true....

Assalamu alikum, When will you upload the entire video of your lectures? It seems confusing for me, I have some questions. Will wait for the video. I have no money, no sponsor either to attend the Quran seminars. No Job, no income. Khoda Hafez.
