Cool video. The different guitars probably have more to do with different sound, even two identical guitars will sound slightly different due to uncontrollable factors like wood grain density, pickup output, age, etc. I would like to see this video but comparing all the strings on the same guitar. Thanks for the tip about preventing the strings from filing down the nut, never thought about that.

Gibson is mid. The tones are great, but they fall apart so easily. A Japanese made guitar is so much better now, even a new fender mexico holds up better.
Strings were NEVER made from cat gut. Same goes for tennis strings. In the distant past sheep’s intestines were used. You can still get tennis and classical strings made from sheep gut, but they’re very expensive and tend to break sooner than synthetics.
Heat the strings up red hot and then don't come in Wathen.There will become as brand no that's how that's how jewels get the work hardness out of rings and that's basically what you're doing to your strings when you get worn out
