      Although at a much lesser scale, the best thing that helped me with my mental health was moving in with my friends.
      If you still haven't, find people that can relate to you it's the most overlooked piece of advice in my oppinion and this video only reaffirms that suspicion.

      @@sedanwheel4146 Hey man thank you for reaching out to me. I actually screenshotted what you wrote on my phone so that I could look at it again for a reminder later. But yeah man I 100% agree, social support and connections are vital for anybody let alone for somebody who has a mental illness or disorder. Luckily enough my best friend is a man I met in the psyche Ward and who also had psychosis but thankfully recovered and is doing good again nowadays. Him being in my life and having the ability to relate does wonders for my mental health along with simply having positive supports and friendships/family in general. I'm definitely trying to find more social connections in spite of the pandemic making this difficult via lockdown and whatnot but having even a couple quality friends does wonders even still.
      I hope you are doing good and I'm happy for you to have found such a positive group of people who you live with. You seem like a good hearted and kind person and I wish you the best my friend. God bless and know there is always hope, there is almost always some reason to keep fighting and to hold on!

    I hear voices and it took me a while to get back to myself and gain a bit of confidence, which was only possible because of this group. You need a lot of courage. Although my childhood trauma was less severe than some of the people in this doc, but maybe that is why my voices are not always mean. That said more than 80% (it is assumed by scientists to be closer to 90%) of all people in the mental health system are victims of some sort of childhood abuse or adversity. This is one of the biggest cover ups.
    I feel for the trumpeter. When I was on high doses of antipsychotics, I could not play music, even though I am a trained musician. Music did not make sense to me. I hope he is better soon. I watched this video a while back, but I sometimes think of the people here and I wish them well. 🙏❤

    I was going through the same exact thing and what I can honestly say helped me get over it was calling on the name of Jesus! I used to hear voices and feel things. I listened to the voice in my head and it had me run out of my house in my underwear to a hospital and I was brought into a psych ward. Never had any sort of mental health issue before then. The power of prayer is real, Jesus is real, and I honestly think most of these voices are demonic especially when it comes to hurting yourselves. What I'm trying to say my friends is to trust in Him and I promise, you have His word not mine, that everything will be made better. Much love to everyone here in the comments!

      @F G I took clozapine for 4 years, 100mg / day. I didn't know you have to taper off this med very slowly and did a cold turkey. This almost killed me, I couldn't sleep for several weeks, had severe cramps, shivering and panic attacks all day etc. etc. After this there sudenly were people in my room talking to me, it's called hypersensitive psychosis I think. I only recently found out that the voices are not real. I don't know how I survived until now to be honest. I am self medicating with cannabis and low doses of psilocybin now which helps me tolerate the voices much better.

      @moonglow6639 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Aria Casteal No it's dangerous advice to tell people to take these deadly drugs, please don't do that. Psych meds are deadly poisons, never take these if you want to live. Your partner should taper off the antidepressants immediately, but slowly this is very important. Please take the advice from a survivor, NEVER take neurolpetics, antidepressants or tranquilizers, so many people have died from these medications already. Sorry but please educate yourself before advising anyone to take these deadly meds, thank you.

    An important thing about hearing voices is that many people only hear voices about once or twice in their lives. In my experience it can go a long time between episodes but it doesn’t mean you’re “less sick”.

    I live in France, I hear voices, and I take a daily dose of abilify. When I got out of the hospital after a month, which by the way was the worst of my entire life, they just sent me home and that was it. Without this med though, I would have likely killed myself as the voices grew more and more dominant and there was nothing I could do to stop them. I tried stopping the med for a few months and immediately went back to a clinic, much better than the hospital though. I was of course diagnosed with schizophrenia.
    Edit: As for me, the voices either told me to kill myself, described everything I did, or insulted me. With the med, I hear them much less but they're still here a bit, I don't think anything can completely remove them.

      I'm a mindfulness practitioner and teacher myself but I would caution against using mindfulness as a tool in this instance. It can potentially make voices worse. I would instead recommend Internal Family Systems Therapy or Focusing Oriented Therapy with someone who is trauma trained. Perhaps if that goes well then mindfulness afterwards.

The voices i have are anime, movie, video game, book cover etc anything that has a picture I think the character can see hear and interact with me. 🤷‍♀️ but I control them sorta they are like connected to my back by huge chains and in indestructible bubbles. Or they are all in a community room and able to see through my eyes. 🤷‍♀️ they dont go away even though I have some friends now.

    I feel like this could be compared to some obsessive behaviours/thoughts that keep coming back and stronger. For a while I was deep in a state like that, taking control is what matters - first they'll go away only for an hour, but the second time they'll leave for two and so on. If you keep being mentally strong, you can get rid of this in a month, even though it might be hard when you are used to feeling powerless and giving up right away for years. Think of a new you and push on to get there

    For those who actually Suffer from Schizophrenia and Paranoia, the best advice I can possibly give is to speak about what is causing this issue(s) and not close them off from others around you, especially those who care for your wellbeing, it can be a friend, family member, lover, or someone in your community that takes the time to listen to your endeavors and your story, and be able to effectively help. For those who have a key awareness, I agree with the concept of Support groups and seeking help from others who have pushed passed the threshold of addiction but, there are some symptoms that can be simulated to an individual(s) that doesn't actually have signs of mental illness like Schizophrenia or Paranoia. In my personal research and experiences in the matter I find being able to block out personal harassment and "cope" (finding a way(s) to enforce mental fortitude on your own mind from negative comments and accusations) with whatever that seems to be causing the most issues in your life are most effective on helping yourself and being able to be a guide or guidance for those who do not yet understand some of their circumstances.

His ‘voices’ are spot on, and I dare say my son is my greatest teacher in life for providing a doorway into what is more real than this inane existence we often find ourselves in! I am now so thankful he resisted us at all costs and escaped medications etc - even though I tried hard for years to get him to go the pharmaceutical and psychiatric path.

    as doctor is hard to understand mental illnesses. especially becasue human brain is a unique organ in the animal kingdom
    we don't know its inner workings and many of its functions are still a complete mistery.
    you can simulate a tissue damage that damage motor or sensorial control in an animal model, but no animal model can simulate the complexety of human emotions interactions and social construct. aòsp for obvious reasons we cannot fully investigate a living brain like we would for other organs
    we have tools but they are extremely crude if confronted with the miracles of other branches of medicine like surgery or farmacology that have constant evolution
    i will remember forever what an old doctor told me during my trainee days in a psychiatric ward speaking about the difficulties of treating mental illnesses
    "we are like a monkey trying to repair a spaceship computer fallen from orbit with a stick and a rock"
    it is sad and i can relate to that sensation of impotence because mental illnesses are still one of the area where even the best doctor can fail to treat his patient even with the best knowledge avaible
    also doctors are still human, and while i don't condone or justify it, i have to recognize that even in our profession there is still much stigma about mental illness and by extension patients. we don't propose lobotomy or electric shock anymore but there is still a lot of work to do about human treatment of psychiatric patients

    • @anonymouszed5509
      @anonymouszed5509 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that conventional medicine cannot treat these conditions. There is no question. It absolutely cannot. There is no branch of conventional medicine which exists today which can effectively treat them. The idea that it can is a scam. It has never really been the case that people with mental illnesses needed to be locked up and treated with humiliating, horrible drugs. This idea was invented by the pharmaceutical industry through manufactured consent. Before pharmacology there was the church/religion and the church enjoyed its oppression of mentally ill people too, and it had an entirely different ethos to pharmacology, but it still benefits itself by creating prejudice of a vulnerable group. Here you can see a steady evolution in thought. How instituted spiritual healing went from archaic religious dogma to fake science and here you might realise that the science of psychiatry really is fake. People don't learn respect anymore.
      You talk about modern medicine being a miracle, but the real miracle in the case of mental illness is allowing the soul on its journey and showing love and compassion towards someone who experienced trauma. Yes, all mental illness almost without exception is completely based in trauma and this fact is covered up by psychiatry. If you do some genuine research you will realise this is true and proven.
      One of the major problems with the medical profession is that it is internally oppressive and hierarchical. There is so much pressure on doctors to perform so called miracles that they become so stressed that they cannot relate to their patients on a compassionate/human level anymore. Is it any wonder that doctors who basically flunked medical school end up in psychiatry wherein they are trained to essentially abuse people in "medically humane ways"? And everyone who works in a hospital setting, nurses included, are subject to this social pressure. Yet, modern medicine gets away with psychiatry when psychiatry itself is the epitome of this oppression. Not a single ounce of this fuss and concern about doing your job right is given to people with mental illnesses, on the receiving end of systematic abuse. But despite any number of people actually waking up to this fact, it just remains so completely convenient for the economic society to label people, lock them up and discard them, almost as if it is a novel form of rehabilitation. People with mental illnesses are treated as if they are a problem, rather than enabled to find their own solutions. There is a major difference between care and cared about. Until people realise what is really going on and that professionals need to become humiliated and embarrassed about the frankly disgusting ways that psychiatry chooses to implement its solution, it looks like this plan is here to stay!!
      I don't know if you wanted my opinion, so, sorry for posting anyway.

    Spirits dwell within you. You can’t change that. You are a multidimensional being having a human experience. Hearing voices is not a bad thing is a psychic ability called clairaudient. We have spirit guides that serve your highest goods and want you to stay on track of your soul’s blueprint. The spirits that do not serve your highest good may have came from other past life and attached themselves on your etheric body instead of going to the light when they died and followed you on your current lifetime. Also they may have attached themselves to you when you felt very low point on this current lifetime when your vibration was low. It’s always spiritual. Medicine will keep the spirits from you hearing them speak but that doesn’t change them from leaving your etheric body and following you to your next incarnation. I suggest you see a regression hypnosis therapist so they can solve the problem and have the spirit leave your body from their own will and go to the light!

    • @sezthet1
      @sezthet1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In what way is it “concerning” - they are all understanding themselves better, feeling more confident, feeling more understood and empowered. To these people at this time it is not about risk aversion, Jesus one guy was locked up for 26 years and he’s there. What they say about antipsychotics is absolutely true and should be open information to everyone. What I feel people like you are ultimately “concerned” with is that people like this “give antipsychotics a bad name” or some other similar garbage. Antipsychotics should have a bad name - As illustrated in the video. These people featured here clearly have severe and complex mental health issues and are feeling empowered to speak about the effects antipsychotics have and how they have been able to overcome what they have overcome by their own will and not the will of a physician who was likely medicating them under duress with (obviously) fairly useless pharmaceuticals. As explained - these phenomena are complex emotional issues - antipsychotics and shrinks absolutely do not have to be the Machiavellian puppet masters here. These are people capable of living far better by being empowered through their own strength and shared experience than by simply taking tablets that have no discernible purpose other than to sedate and deflate all emotion and natural humanity. The stereotype of a shuffling drooling blank eyed zombie exists for a reason, because that is what antipsychotics do to people and it’s totally logical to want to find human ways to acknowledge experience and gain strength. The purpose of antipsychotics toted by psychiatrists is to improve quality of life (and yes sometimes sedate a person indefinitely because they are deemed as being unsafe) - well these people are doing far better at improving their own quality of life, without antipsychotics. “Concerning” my arse.

    What's the difference between me telling someone to react a certain way, and their knowing that a voice in their head is telling them to react in the same way. If they listen to me or a voice in their head, to do what ever I or the voice states to do, it still their decesision.
