Wilson was so kind to respond to my message when I shared my version of one of his paintings with him many years ago. Not many people would have done that, let alone offer such lovely words of encouragement. His words drove me to pursue a career in the arts, and after many years of studying I'm now a qualified Art Therapist still using Wilson's advice and tips within some of my groups. I'm really sad to hear that he has passed and I wished I had thanked him sooner.
Mr. Bickford, I'm an artist from Tennessee. So, farms and old abandoned home places are my passion. I love the colors of the aged wood on these barns and homes. There's a presence that is felt when looking at these place, the work, the struggles of farming and the carpentry that made these buildings withstand storms and years of brutal weather. This is all I paint,...I paint saw blades, old milk cans ,mail boxes, etc. I was listening to your comments on some other artists,...William Alexander and Bob Ross. The soft spoken Ross, and the fiery and passionate Alexander guided my imagination and talent. I would like to add you to my list of inspirational artists. I have enjoyed your videos and will be watching more of them. Thank you very much! Chris C.
Wow! That was a lot simpler than I thought! I also really loved that you didn’t drag out things too much. You stayed focused on what we came here for. This was so helpful, thank you

I have been thinking it is too big- I never thought to set my glass palette on there the way you do. It's a great use of the space. I actually a glass palette exactly similar to what you have! This vid was helpful on many levels!! : D
Hi Wilson, I've just come across your tutorials and am now hooked. Your techniques and instuctions make everything so simple and easy, but create beautiful paintings. I was wondering... do you think you will ever do any tutorials using acrylic paints? As I'd be interested in learning from you using acrylics.
Very nice. A friend of mine did a nice painting of the old railroad bridge and tracks and foliage disappearing into the mist and I joked about a can of spray fog and he said, "That's not how ya do it".
RIP Willie. :( Thanks for the lessons and encouragement
