Pleeease make a video for the potoo bird! It is the most hilarious creature ever!
Did the text for this video get redone because of the "Grumpy Cat" references?
Please do the vizcacha i dont know how the Name would be in other countries but here in Chile thats how we call it, it would be so cool if u do plssss
Can’t tell if this is a bird or a puppet from muppets
This is a bird. The potoo is a muppet. With extra derp.

Tony Perri potoos are my favorite. The noises they make are even more hilarious

Almost sounds like the name of an incidental character in a New York Mobster movie from the 80's: "Tony Frogmouth"

I did an internship at a zoo nearly 2 years ago and I got to feed crickets and horse meat to a Tawny Frogmouth named Oscar. It was a great experience.
THEY EAT HORSES?! :0
The music fits so well with this animal. Also, this is a bird that I've never really heard about before
I agree
they occasionally fly above my house at night, only seen it once when we used a torch though
They named it after another species name 😁
I heard Rango movie vibe on it
check srilankan frogmouth you will be amaze
Why is that bird judging me just by staring at me? 👀
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
Can we just talk about how Danielle's enthusiasm consistently SHINES in every video? Her dedication and love of animals is so contagious 💖

One of these guys lives near me, and sometimes I’ll see him staring at me when I go for my nighttime runs. There camo doest really work when they are sitting on a white fence.
So frogmouths are just lazy owls?
I’m intrigued
They are depressive owls
They arent related to owls tho.
Do the Potoo next, basically the frogmouth's caffeine pumped cousin
Soba Ye yes yes!!
I thought they were the same thing I've been calling potoos and Tawnys "Derp-a- chirps" Tawnys deserve there own names...
Gasp..."Grump-a-stumps"
YES, please, make a video about the Potoo X
Potoos are just precious potato birds and I adore them
Great edition in this Australia series! Tawny Frogmouths look like they were designed by Jim Henson or George Lucas.
I live in Paraguay. I once saved an native FrogMouth or "Urutau" that's how it's called here. It was a surreal experience. They're majestic creatures
I was kind of disappointed when the drawing process was skipped, but then I realized we were having an in person episode. Really awesome.
I love tawnies, such adorable little goofs.
Tawny Frogmouth. It sounds like a 1970s rock band.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please put your hands together for TAWNY FROGMOUTH!
True
I love these birds every facial expression they make is both cute and hilarious.
5:38 *Sassy head movement* Oh heck no!
Lol
This might be my new favorite bird after the cassowary. Birds are such wonderful creatures.
The tawny frogmouth is a huge mood.
Oh gosh, these guys are my second-favourite birds, right after penguins! Thanks to their giant mouth and expressive eyes, they look like real-life Muppets!
3:52 OMG OMG, that tiny eyebrow move! So cute.
Loved seeing this as I recently had a Tawny frogmouth encounter whilst on a week stay in Port Macquarie (NSW). One was sitting for hours in a tree in full sight next to a 2nd level patio
I managed to get a few great photos including a yawn showing the frog like mouth, I was really surprised however to find out that it isn't actually an owl as they look so much like one.
The drawing is great too !!
I had never heard of Nightjars, and I have only ever seen a photo of a frogmouth without knowing what it was. Thanks for the new info!
I've been within 3 feet of a Wild Tawny Frogmouth before, I was walking along the side of a fence when I noticed something in the corner of my eye a few feet away from me, it was a frogmouth sitting on the fence. It was insane how well camouflaged it was, It just stayed still in hopes i couldnt see it, I really could have touched it. But I didnt want to disturb it
So sweet ❤️
They are actually "pretty friendly" I had one that lived in a tree on a bush property of mine, it kept coming back to the same tree night after night near the camp fire and would just watch me and let me get within feet of it.. when I would go, for a walk, in the middle of the night it would sometimes swoop down past my shoulder to let me know it was around (and render the need for the walk.. done) would go and sit back in the tree and just be chill.
Probably not next, but at some point, I'd love to have you do something on the tawny frogmouth's close relative; the potoo. Very meme-worthy birb and one that thanks to that stupid "genetically engineered owl" nonsense, has a bit of a maligned reputation.
Yeah, in Latin America they are seen as witches/evil spirits/ghosts just because of the sound they make 😅
Annnndddd they did a Potoo video. Yaeh.
Tawny frogmouth: They grump cat of birds
WwwWHAT. What!! How have I never heard of them before! They're the best things EVER.
Aw this was great! It would be so cool to cover the Potoo as well in the future! They're like the derpiest birds I have ever seen and I love them for it lol. Love the stance they and Frogmouths take to look like a branch. On another note, Danielle's shirt is amazing! 🖤
I love the Tawny Frogmouth! They are incredible to work with. Thanks for making another great video 💚
They have that unimpressed look like they've been there, done that, and ate the t-shirt. It wasn't tasty.
notconvincedgranny very true they look like retired bird veterans
OMG, The return of the Ghost-Type t-shirt! I want it soooooooooo bad!
Quolls are interesting. Similar to a North American Opossum. Not many people outside of Australia know of them.
Or Bilbies, Australian Easter Bunny.
as an autralian, im really glad that you guys have been pumping out all this aussie content! its interesting to see danielle talking about animals that i see quite regularly!!
The trumpet music has added to the charm of interest in this description of the lovely creature.
why do i feel like if dwarfs turn into a bird species, this would be them xD
😂😂
The eyes and pointed beak remind me of shoebills.
I'll never forget the family of Tawny Frogmouths that lived in the gum tree next door that overhung our drive way. Got home one night and went out the back to have a smoke at 1am and one flew onto the roof of our back fence, then swooped over my head onto the back patio, watched me for 5 minutes and then flew back up into the tree. Love these birds.
Very well edited and montages, great work of documentary/cinematography!
I actually have two of these birds living on a tree in front of our house. And yes I’m in Australia.

Danielle has been gnomed
You hace earned a like my friend here you deserve it
Australia, and the regions around it, are so lucky and blessed to have such wonderful, exotic animals that are the most cutest and adorable animals I have ever seen. Tawny Frogmouths are too cute for words. 😍
So weird and adorable... love them!
These guys are like living puppets😂❤️
I saw one in the wild with a broken wing but I helped it and took it back to the wild
4:22 “One of their most striking features are their giant eyes”
On cue the Frogmouth stares deep into my soul
Yay, my favourite bird ever. So glad you covered these little guys.
I still love encountering them just gazing off at nothing in particular
We have a nest of these birds every year, we know that they are there yet spotting them is a real challenge.
Here in brazil they are called "urutau" or "dama da noite" lady of the night
Keep up the great content. Much appreciated
5:02, Stoned Frogmouth
He looks so tired mentally and physically
Mood.
Did you guys know birds are reptiles? Google it
Woah
What a beautiful narration by Defoe. Absolutely amazing!
They are adorable...I love the shapes of their heads and faces, who couldn’t love these cuties?🖤🇨🇦
Wow really interesting to learn about these guys and their place in the world of convergent evolution. Animalogic is such a great channel. Thanks to all of you who work to make these videos happen and thanks Danielle!
Danielle is like that younger sister that gets attacked by plastic bags and sometimes a tumbleweed and you're just there filming a bird "side-eyeing" her. 😂
they are the cutest birds with the most attitude! They're my new favorite.
We had a tawny frogmouth on our walkies route that my dog would play with every night. They'd have a chat. Loudly. At 2 o'clock in the morning sometimes ( I'm a shift worker,) here's an example of the dialogue:
Dog: Arf arf!
Tawny: Crrrrackleackleackleararararara!
Dog: Hwoo woo woo woo?
Tawny: Currrakakakakakakakaka?
Etc. You get the idea. I'd have to stand on the street corner and wait as they'd catch up. 🙄😆
Love the Pokémon top and the new episode. Thank you for helping me learn so much about animals. 😁
They look like an old man without his dentures, I love it
U inspire me danielle ❤️ i want to become like you. Its fun exploring and learning new things plus paintings ! Cmon painting is one of my fav hobby. ☺️ Becoming like u is my dream and i will accomplish it sooner or later for sure.
Thankyou dear ❤️
Wow. Just Actually Wow. Never suspected such a creature exists. Awesome job Danielle!
Another awesomely informative video.
Thank you for your wonderful work
Very happy with the narration. ...and yes, the music is perfect....
Thanks for profiling one of our fantastic Aussie nightbirds. We actually have 3 species of frogmouth: Tawny, Marbled and Papuan - Tawny is the only endemic with the latter two also occurring in PNG.
What really gives me the image of owl relation, is their head movements... Rocking side to side while looking at something interesting just like most owls do.
A terrific expose of these adorable and strange birds. I am lucky enough to have them visit and nest in my garden each year.
Beautiful and grumpy. A winning combination.
These are the best shows to watch 😊 glad I found it!
I've never heard about it before 😨
Now I'm fall in love 😻😻😻
Frogmouths are very common in Australia. You see them around at night occasionally, and during the day they're just dozing in the trees. They often hang around in little family units. Very cute :)
finally a video about my fav bird. i love them so much
The coolest bird I've ever seen. They're so funny! And adorable.
very impressed by their camouflage and contortion skills at 5:41. it seems like they actually observe and think how a branch should be like and how to match their surroundings!
Added to my list of animals i love
"Wtf is that?! Oh it's a tawney. Scared the shit outa me". Aussie proverb.
Great vid. Thanks for posting.
Wow your energy is
congratulations! So glad everything went great for you. Congrats again and have a great week ..Great
One of the best things about living in regional Australia is noticing a pair of frogmouths sitting on the fence post watching you. They are adorable wee birds.
Still remember patting the one in the tree as you entered Peppermint Park decades ago as little boy.
Sweet birds.
They pick the exact trees, colours and contours in the wild. Amazing creatures 😍
I love how funny they look. Its like they're constantly extremely distressed by always accidentally walking into the bathroom and seeing someone naked.
Tawny Frogmouths are the best. I love listening to them at night, especially now on winter on a foggy night. (For those who don't know what they sound like, you really need to look it up.)
Every house I've lived in has had a friendly neighbourhood Tawny Frogmouth. This house is the first where their superior stealth capabilities have failed - it doesn't quite work so well on a power pole... Still, they're an absolutely amazing bird. And I'm grateful that I live in their territories.
You're doing great in downunder! Another fantastic job!
This was an awesome video seeing you there with the animals is always awesome. I'm trying to become a herpetologist so seeing a few more reptiles like skinks and Gila monsters would be awesome!
New favorite bird, thank you.
Thanks for this video. Been trying to know more about this bird😊
I love this. Please make videos forever.
2:28 You are so brave lol, would never let it that close to my eyes. He seems the sort to go for it.
i bet you never wore eyeglasses
