- Exploring the Hotel Morgan on the third floor! Is it haunted?!? I capture some disembodied voice and do a Spirit Box session in the famous Room 314. Hotel Morgan is located in my hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia!

During the liquidation sale of the Hotel Morgan, I was given permission by the employees to explore and conduct this short paranormal investigation.
I love my home state of West Virginia. I want to document the state of current locations and hope to promote funding to the betterment of our communities; no matter the size of the city, town or holler. Y'all know what I mean when I say holler. I hope that with any video I release brings a realization to any governing position the importance of preserving and repurposing of the structures and areas we've come to love and have amazing memories from. I was working in the remodel here. I was one of the first to go in there and the first thing I noticed were three bibles in the hallway. I would work til 8 at night and would never hear or come across anything except on this one day where I heard footsteps towards that same room. I wasn’t scared but it did catch me by surprise. That’s when I looked all this up a while back ago and learned about the story. The guy in charged of the remodel would talk to me about a picture in his phone and how he captured the little girl. To me it looked like a smudge. The place is interesting for sure. The day that really freaked me out was when I knew I was by myself in the building and the elevator was being used. Remember I work late and everyone leaves from 3-6. For some reason it was gonna stop on my floor but it stopped on the 8th right above me. Where the big dining hall is at. I packed my things that night and decided to leave. I wasn’t sticking around.
This is one of the most excellent stories I’ve heard! It’s greatly appreciated that you checked this video out too! It was definitely an interesting visit and I wish that I could’ve done an overnight investigation. Maybe here in the future when it’s back up in operation!
I absolutely adored the Hotel Morgan. I worked there on the front desk in 2018. Definitely a beautiful building with a lot of character.

I worked there around 2007/2008 for a short time. Midnight shift of all shifts...
A coworker I worked with most of the time was really into the stories about this place. I remember room 717 was off limits to rent out. There was a whole story about one of the original owners being killed in that room. There was multiple stories of that room and everything would quit working randomly so they stopped renting it out to guest.
I also remember in the basement (where the time clock was) had cages with chains that were supposedly there from the overfill from the jail back in the 1920’s. I would literally RUN to clock-in and out plus had to do it for clocking in and out for lunch. The workers there had me freaked out and it was 15 years ago and I believed everything I was told. Lol
Again, this is what I was told and have no idea of any of it is true. I worked there for about 4 months and said “I’m out”. I remember a lot of people complaining about hearing noises next to their rooms and nobody was there to make the noises.
On a cool note, I remember smoking a cigarette with the rapper “Chingy” and he stole my lighter. He was performing at the Univerisy and was a guest there for the weekend.
This is one of the most amazing stories I've heard so far! I'm definitely wanting to do a full investigation here some day! Thanks so much for checking out the video! That's crazy about the basement!!!
I am from Morgantown. Before it was sold, I walked up the beautiful stair case to the third floor. I saw the room, decided to go back the regular stairwell. I got locked out. The third floor door would not reopen, it was boarded up by the dining hall. I'm trapped!!!! I found a crack in the boarding and crawled out into the restaurant. Just wow

I am from Morgantown. About five years ago,before the remolding, I decided to just check things out. I walked up the super cool cast iron stairs to the second floor. I caught the elevator up to the third. Yeah the hallway reminded you of the shining. I walked past 314, then decided to walk down the steps. In the second floor it was blocked! I was like shit!!! Walked back up and the door wouldn't open. Scared, daylight,going crap!!! Walked back down to where it was blocked saw a space,crawled through it into the dining room. Needless to say quickly got out of there before I was seen. I think the ghost blocked the door.

I used to work in the restaurant of the hotel when it was “The Montmartre”. Myself and a few others I worked with had many unexplainable happenings while closing late late at night! The service elevator was one of the creepiest parts of the building, I avoided it at all costs! I wish you could have done more investigating before they remodeled it! Have you ever been inside the old movie theatre right next door! I’ve heard it’s haunted too, I would love to get in there to check it out! I lived going to the movies there, but I always had such an eerie feeling like someone was looking over my shoulder!
It's an eerie feeling being in there! I went into the back of house in the kitchen and had some chills when ever I got back into the right corner entering from the ballroom entrance!
When I went to WVU, some of the sign bulbs burned out (or were shot out), and instead of Hotel Morgan, it said Hot Organ.
I definitely miss the Hot Organ days haha. Glad you were here for it!
You want to go somewhere haunted in Morgantown go to Boreman Hall I used to work there as a cook and then the basement we would always hear would sound like keys or chains jingling and one night in the old elevator downstairs I was cleaning getting ready to leave and I saw the face of a man staring through the elevator window

I worked there for seven months and I had so many experiences that have stuck with me. I stayed on the third floor one night because I couldn’t get home because of the snow. I never want to sleep there again 🥲
What happened?!?
I worked on thr 3rd floor everyday. Room 314 always gave me the creeps. I always knew something was with me while I cleaned all the rooms. But I was never harmed or anything, I just felt something lingering with me the whole time. 311 and 314 were the ones I always felt it strongest!!!
It definitely felt like there was energy with me in the whole building, but certainly the strongest is the 3rd floor!
@@DannyStrakal I definitely agree!!! I never liked being alone because that's when I felt it the most!
I also worked with Miranda on all of these rooms we did housekeeping together. We have went in these rooms and the bathtub would be full. There would be a little girl sighting in the hallways. We went in and a lamp was laying on the bed, the one mug was laying on the floor broken where it fell and no one was in that room and there was no way it fell from where it was sitting. Like this place has some really weird feelings and things that happened here. When Miranda sent me this video the first thing I said was hey I know Danny! But then I was like yep those are the weird things we seen. Lol

My mom used to work there before the liquidation and I remember one story she told me she heard from the front desk person. She said he has seen a balloon free floating up the stair from the basement and then again up the next set of stairs. Doesn’t sound weird until she also mentioned that the balloon acted as if someone was holding it even though no one was there. Another thing that was weird about it was there were no balloons in the basement as that’s where the housekeepers worked so why was there a balloon. Say what you want but that place was haunted. There was always weird vibes there.
Also she works there again so apparently it keeps you drawn in. (A side note I remember her saying something about someone filming there too so this was cool to actually see)

Ive been in the basement multiple times between 2012-2018 due to my previous job. I never had any encounters while i was down there, but i always felt weird being in there. It made me feel like i needed to watch my back down there...like someone or something was walking up behind me while i wasnt paying attention. Ive never heard of the hotel being haunted until now. Definitely has a weird feel to it down there

Wow. Very creepy. I worked there for several months two separate times in 2001 and 2003. I worked Front Desk and Night Audit. Those overnight shifts were the worst! I hated having to go down in the basement to get the food for next morning's breakfast OR into the ballroom in the middle of the night. I also hated going on any of the floors when nobody was around. It gave me a definite "The Shining" feeling. I loved the people I worked with, but the hotel itself was incredibly spooky!
Love hearing this! This just further backs my experience there! The basement!! So many people have been telling me about it! I need to see if I can get in there!

Great investigation .Wish you could have stayed longer.... You always want these older buildings to be proclaimed historical sites, so they are not torn down...
Wow I didn’t realize this video was 11 months old and you’re talking about them remodeling it. I was there about a year and a half ago. And I was put up in room 314...honestly I’m creeped out.. a lot of feelings and memories are coming back to me. What I don’t understand is the hotel staff have to know that room 314 is really haunted..so why have people stay in it? Lol I mean the only thing that happened to my knowledge is my husband seeing a shadow figure in the corner of the room. And me saying ‘yeah. Ok..’ lol poor guy.. I feel bad now. But I did have an eerie feeling in that room I’m not gonna lie. I never saw or heard anything but I had a weird feeling ESPECIALLY taking a shower in the bathroom. And now I know why. 😬
And I filmed in the fall of 2019! So it’s definitely a little old but definitely still cool! I’m gonna see if I can make a reservation & stay the night in 314! See what happens😬
Do you think the remodel may anger the spirits... Making things worse there?
Remodels can most certainly increase the activity. Whether it's positive or negative is another question. But I'm positive the remodel is causing some havoc on the remaining energies attached to the building.

I got ahold of people there and asked about the history they told me that in there policy they can't confirm or deny I want to do an investigation of the place
The place is definitely haunted. And if you get in contact with people that have worked there, they will definitely confirm that it is. I ended up talking to some construction workers during the remodel & they said they didn’t like being there after certain times and specific areas within the building made them very uncomfortable. Some ended up leaving the job site completely and never returning
