    Wow! You have explained this so well. It’s been really enjoyable learning about this & putting the pieces together that are never really explained. My question is: does an astigmatism/CYL impact a lenses thickness? the farsightedness in the SPH of my Rx is low e.g., OD 0.00 & OS +1.00, but the CYL is -0.75 & -3.50. Astigmatism is worse in left eye & I’m always overthinking which index to choose for my Rx. E.g. 1.50, 1.57, 1.59, 1.61 etc mid/high index etc & I wonder if a thicker lens index would be problematic for an astigmatism, beyond aesthetics.

    Hi..i would like to ask..so base on the video..if anyone would ask about the eye grade level is it 275/250? Please enlighten me..thank you.

    • @RXSafety
      @RXSafety  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @princess-p9b,
      Thank you for watching. The 275/250 refers to different prescription strengths, usually indicating how much correction is needed for vision. For example, -2.75 or -2.50 typically indicates nearsightedness. It's best to consult your optometrist for accurate information. Hope this helps.

    What does VA mean? I was just told I 20/20 vision, but the right eye in the VA section was listed with a 20/20 -2. What does this mean?

    • @KhaleeqKhan-t9h

      VA= visual acquity .
      You read till the 20/20 line but missed two letters in that line thats why 20/20-2 is written

      Hi Justin Trojan, thank you for watching. :) If you have Plano under sphere, it means that you do not suffer from myopia or hyperopia. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    Hi, thank you for your upload.
    My question is; In 2019
    R=SPH:+0.75, CYL: -0.25, AXIS:110, ADD+0.75
    L=SPH:+0.50, CYL: -0.25, AXIS: 80, ADD+0.75
    In 2022
    R=SPH:+0.50, CYL: -0.25, AXIS:125, ADD +1.25
    L=SPH:+1.00, CYL: -0.50, AXIS: 80, ADD+1.25
    The numbers still don't make sense to me, could you kindly explain?

    • @RXSafety
      @RXSafety  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jamie Taberer, thank you for watching. :) The R and L refer to your right and left eyes. SPH indicates the sphere, so it represents the correction needed for nearsighted or farsighted vision. CYL stands for cylinder, it's combined with the AXIS to correct an astigmatism. AXIS is the angle of the cylinder when placed on a lens to correct astigmatism. Finally, ADD is the additional correction needed for correcting presbyopia. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

      It's quite common for eyes to change between sight tests, especially over a three year gap.

    Are the following 2 prescriptions essentially the same? A far-sighted 10-year-old with 2 diopters in both eyes. A 50-year-old with single-vision reading glasses with 2 diopters in both eyes.

    My RT cylinder says "SPH.", but my LT cylinder says -0.50... what do I write for my RT cylinder?

    • @RXSafety
      @RXSafety  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dalica, thank you for watching. :) SPH refers to the sphere, so it represents the correction needed for nearsighted or farsighted vision. LT refers specifically to your left eyes and RT to your right eyes. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    • @legalimmagrant
      @legalimmagrant 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RXSafety Thank you, but I was wondering what do I write for my RT cylinder instead of “SPH” since I’m getting my prescription glasses online. There’s no option for me to put “SPH”, but a number and I have none for it.
