Thanks for the fragging videos. Perfect timing i just got a huge clamshell/rock with a hundred zoas on it at petco for $25 ☺️. But theres alot of different colors blending so i wanted to save all of them lol.
Looks like you used brand new frag plugs, Isnt it a better idea to use cured ones?? I have a ton in my sump but someone sent me about eight different zoas all on brand new looking plugs and the little mount on top of the plugs and turned crazy red. Is that cyano? Why would they turn so red? is that normal if they are new plugs because looks like i may have some cyano in my tank from that! Maybe she did that because she had cyano and it came back somehow. Very odd and suspicious that she would change all of them out! Looks like you are just cutiing right through the flesh? Iwas told by a vendor that is risky! I have a lot of high ends I want to frag but they are attached, he told me to go up under the flesh but at some point you still have to cut flesh! Scary being the cost over 3 k for what I bought recently now I am to scared to cut them! I already had a lot of them melt! Didint relize how finickily high ends are!
@@MadHattersReef sure thing, just for transparency there's no way to definitively confirm it was palytoxin, but we had eliminated other possibilities. I was syphoning out algae, and at some point must have cut my hand on the rock that is in the back with a zoa colony. I felt myself bump them, but I didn't feel the cut. I noticed it when I was finished and washed my hands but it must have been too late. Almost an hour later when I went to shower I began to experience swelling on my face and head, then hives all over my arms and shoulders. Like a wild allergic reaction except no breathing issues and I didn't come into contact with anything new. I was going to wait it out but then my vision started fading in and out. Ended up taking a Benadryl which spec the progress since palytoxin can cause a histamine response, and went to the ER. They continued allergic reaction like treatment and everything was gone within 2 hours.

Perfect reminder about safety. Ironically my one incident with palytoxin wasn't from fragging.
