Tobi pls is it true that even if one becomes a homeowner its still not yours cause you keep paying mortgage? I've heard some Nigerians in Canada say that. Is is possible for one to completely pay off the mortgage ? And yes pls a video on the expenses of owning a home, thanks🙏🏼
@@dammy1111 Once one becomes a homeowner, the land registration and title gets transferred to the homeowner upon successful closing of the transaction, so the real estate is officially theirs (even if they have a mortgage with a lender that they have to pay down for years). When a mortgage is used to purchase a property, a charge is placed on the property by the lender for the loan amount owing which gives the lender the right to take possession of the property *IF* the loan is in default. With mortgage -> you own the house, but the lender (institution who lended the money) has the right to take possession of the property in extreme cases. Without mortgage (i.e you’ve paid your mortgage down) -> you own the house w/o the risk of loosing it. I hope this answers your question!
I really appreciate this content. Thanks. And YES, please, a content on detailed expenses involved in owning/maintaining a home will be much appreciated as well.
The only reason you will ever regret buying a home is if you cannot afford it… very simple, live within your means. If you regret buying your home, you already knew you couldn’t afford it before buying.
@@TobiDerin I recently transitioned to PM and I have honed my skills as product manager now, I saw a post that you were looking for an intern/assistant. Getting a Pm job here in Nigeria is almost impossible with no experience, hence I’m willing to work with you remotely as an intern and PA for no monetary remuneration to help me garner industry experience. Please let me be your assistant for free. 🙏🙏
I Hope you enjoyed this video. Let me know what home ownership topics you want me to cover!
