Very important when defrosting enclosed coolers/freezers smaller than a walk in: Make sure you dry out all of the interior before restarting it. Otherwise you will instantly start a nice new layer of freeze up very quickly. Many years ago my mom learned that the hard way with our chest freezer....had all of the food trapped in a giant frozen block.

Glad it all worked out. I put up with Metric when I have to. I remember when they tried selling gas by the liter. That went well. lol👍

I always had issues with them over stocking the units and leaving the doors cracked a bit open but most of the time a quick change of door seals and the door should stay closed

danfoss evap probes always bad.(even if you measured it and looks ok, under 5V it will read off chart numbers). Used to change those 10 years ago a lot on Liebher/Miele home refrigerators.

Just throw in a Dixell Controller XR06CX-4N1F1 . Set the controller to 25 min defrost and there is an option on the parameters to make the unit kick out of defrost at 55F evaporator coil temperature which is no BUENO in your case since that’s a high traffic freezer. Increase that to 70F and you will be set . Ask me how do I know 😅🤷🏻‍♂️

This controller does all that. That’s why I like it. Customizable. Time defrosts that terminate on coil temps and if she still freezes up at 6 hour intervals we’ll dial em down to every 4. Yeah baby. I felt your pain as well

Dixell only $49 two probes and reads Fahrenheit 🤷🏻‍♂️ . I think you’ll be fine cutting the defrost to 4 hours . And solving the door issue

Correct off during a defrost just like a walk-in but on Elsewise. Even when the compressor satisfied

I know Metric measure isn't everybody's favorite thing, but in the world of temperature, I think Celsius makes a certain amount of sense. For instance, water freezes at zero Celsius, and boils at 100 Celsius. Anything below 0 Celsius can be construed as below freezing.
I'm not saying that Fahren-gesundheit is a bad scale, but having a water freeze temp of 32 and a boil point of 212, well... that's just a couple of weird numbers. However, for things like keeping a room or a building at a temperature that is comfortable for people in which to live, that is where degrees F becomes more convenient. 70F, or 21.1111C, is approximately where the bulk of the population likes to be. The convenient thing about Fahrenheit, is that in that environment, one degree up or down, is a bit more precise or convenient for human comfort, where one whole degree Celsius up or down, equals about 2 whole degrees movement in Fahreheit, a person can have more precise control if using a digital thermostat that only increases or decreases by one full unit (either F or C), and does not have decimal place increments.
In my world of transportation of food and beverage in re-FRIGG-erated trailers or containers, the thermostat unit setting is changeable, but within North America, most shippers calibrate by degrees Fahrenheit, and some will spec the temp in dung-rees smelsius on the bill of lading. I am so old that I am comfortable thinking or speaking in either language, Fahrenheit, or Celsius.
I must say that I am rather surprised that you managed to find a controller that will only deal in Celsius. That is weird. It's more like the kind of luck that I have, where out of a million units to choose from, I would pick the one and only unit that should be able but cannot be changed over to the measure-unit of choice.

Fahrenheit and Celsius are both stupid as Hell in the world of refrigeration.
0°C and 32°F mean nothing. Kelvin and Rankine actually make sense.
      0 means NO HEAT.
You cannot have negative heat, (-40°,) that makes no sense.

I wish the US was metric.... I was help setting up a small bottled water plant. We had floor weight limits per square meter and a few 300 liter tanks. So I said to the one guy, we have to calculate how much 300L of water weighs. He looked at me like I had two heads, or just a dumb American lol....... Then he told me, I was like, wow, that's awesome and how did I not know this? I know a gallon is 8.34lbs, but never knew a liter of water is an effing kilogram. Just makes too much sense.
What doesn't make sense is that controller can't be changed to 'Merican units, odd.

The United States of America switched to the Metric system.
The President appointed and sent a U.S. Ambassador to the Metric Convention.
The Ambassador returned with a formal international treaty.
The President signed the Metric treaty.
The U.S. Senate formally ratified the Metric Treaty.
The U.S. is on the Metric system.
I'm sure this news was in the newspapers in your area.

@davidnull5590 the United States government also legally designated tomato’s to be a vegetable in 1843 despite being scientifically unarguably a fruit, so that they could tax farmers at a higher rate. So just cuz the govt does something doesn’t make it completely correct . 😂

@@restaurantrepairs --- The case was Nix v. Hedden and was decided on May 10, 1893. The case was about a lawsuit over the 1887 tariff, which applied to imported vegetables but not fruit. Not to tax farmers, but to tax importers of fruit into the U.S..
      The ruling:
The Supreme Court ruled unanimously that tomatoes should be classified as vegetables, based on the ordinary meaning of the words "fruit" and "vegetable". The court distinguished between science and everyday life, noting that tomatoes are typically served with meals, not as dessert.
Related: In the 1980s The Reagan administration's attempt to classify ketchup as a vegetable in the school lunch program in 1981. The change would mean government would have to spend less on school lunch programs.

So the govt is manipulating the reality of botanical science to benefit themselves…. Got it.
Once federal buildings start displaying temperatures in Celsius and not Fahrenheit and all the new outlets convert to Celsius the “US went to metric” may mean something. We went to metric like tomatoes are botanically vegetables… We didn’t and they aren’t . 👍
