The fact that they are such capable dancers now is the sign of their intense commitment and focus, not to mention innate charisma, which can't be taught. These four emerged from a huge audition process across Asia and Australia and were chosen - or rather made themselves known - from among thousands of others. Whether their choreo is tight or loose, they work together seamlessly. Being a little casual about it sometimes is part of their style. I think these days they are a lot more balanced in terms of technique and maturity of performance, each holding their own while out on the dance floor. Hoping they come-back with new stuff soon! Love your honesty because it's all respectful. These girls work really hard but it is something that's common across kpop girl groups, the choreo isn't as hard or intricate as the boy groups (a lot of the time, not all the time). Lots of walking, turning, and arm movements. However, it bodes well that it's simple enough that fans can copy it and dance along so that's a good thing. As always, I'm loving your reactions!

No one is mentioning how in Light Up the Sky, Rose and Lisa became friends first because they could speak English. And I think Lisa's mentorship as an experienced dancer really helped Rose come out of her shell as she never danced before and mainly was singer/guitar player. If you watch Lisa's mentoring videos, you can see she's a strict but fair (but also savage) dance coach.

Lisa indeed is the main dancer. The red-haired girl though is Rosé, and she is indeed the lead dancer. That’s why they are the strongest dancers in the group. But fun fact is it was Jennie (one of the other members) who taught Rosé how to dance since she has never danced her whole life-she was chosen in an audition because of her vocals (she is the main vocalist of the group). Please check out their dance for one of their b-sides-Don’t Know What to Do. I bet you’d enjoy it so much. So much movement and floorwork and for me probably their best choreography. (Though the girls have said that the hardest they did was the one for their song Whistle, which has almost an a capella and country vibe to it, like there is no specific beats to anchor their movements onto).

Rosé (the redhead in this practice) is a very good dancer and honestly often stands out more than Lisa in the group choreographies. Said that, Lisa is without any doubt the better dancer, she's definitely one of the best dancers of all kpop industry if not the number 1, but she shows her skills more in her solo stuff(like her lilifilms, or her solo stages in concerts and so on), not much in the choreos, in which she gives the impression to focus more about staying in sync with the other girls rather than just go all out

DDDD is their mildest choreo while "Whistle" is their hardest. Two different choreographers, two very distinct styles. DDDD was done by Kyle Hanagami + Kiel Tutin and Whistle by Jonte. 6 years as a Blackpink fan I would much prefer they work with Jonte again....but we don't always get what we want.

Lisa indeed is the main dancer. The red-haired girl though is Rosé, and she is indeed the lead dancer. That’s why they are the strongest dancers in the group. But fun fact is it was Jennie (one of the other members) who taught Rosé how to dance since she has never danced her whole life-she was chosen in an audition because of her vocals (she is the main vocalist of the group).
Please check out their dance for one of their b-sides-Don’t Know What to Do. I bet you’d enjoy it so much. So much movement and floorwork and for me probably their best choreography. (Though the girls have said that the hardest they did was the one for their song Whistle, which has almost an a capella and country vibe to it, like there is no specific beats to anchor their movements onto).
Jennie's taught Rosé the basic moves since at that time Rosé doesn't know how to dance as she didn't danced b4 that..but now Rosé is the lead dancer

Lisa the best Kpop idol dancer and the only one in Blackpink acknowledged by professional dancers, choreographers and medias as one of the best dancer in k-pop. She has to tone down when dancing with other members. All members call Lisa as their best dancer and a dancing machine. She also choreographed all BP dances every month when they were trainees for 5 years!

Rosé (the redhead in this practice) is a very good dancer and honestly often stands out more than Lisa in the group choreographies. Said that, Lisa is without any doubt the better dancer, she's definitely one of the best dancers of all kpop industry if not the number 1, but she shows her skills more in her solo stuff(like her lilifilms, or her solo stages in concerts and so on), not much in the choreos, in which she gives the impression to focus more about staying in sync with the other girls rather than just go all out

I love your honesty and feed back. Your first commitment @1:40 about “running it back..” is so on. That part in the choreography is always off in every performance. I also agree with the closing comments; I wish the girls where a 100% on their live performances. I think they’ve got used to thinking that when another band mate is singing the camera isn’t on them and they lose it a bit. Great review!

DDDD is their mildest choreo while "Whistle" is their hardest. Two different choreographers, two very distinct styles. DDDD was done by Kyle Hanagami + Kiel Tutin and Whistle by Jonte. 6 years as a Blackpink fan I would much prefer they work with Jonte again....but we don't always get what we want.
