That right there is one of the best solos integrated in an song ever made... It´s not flashy, but its emotional, its fitting, it enhances the song to another level, it has the perfect length to get you into it and ends at the perfect time to lead you back into the song... I LOVE LOVE LOVE this solo, even though my favorite song is still "Puzzle". Great reaction again, Wave!

Kanami said in a recent interview she no longer considers Miku's current skill level when writing rhythm parts. She has full confidence Miku will learn to play them. Their instrumental Don't Be Long was written as an exercise for Miku to be able to play their song Different. Don't Be Long was released as the B side to the single Different in December 2020. It is also a great instrumental but only available on Spotify.

Daydreaming, About Us, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage and Smile -- an unbelievable range of mid-tempo songs from the greatest hard rock band on the planet - Band-Maid. Although I love Daydreaming the way it is and believe it may be Band-Maid's best overall accessible song, I've always wonder if it was sung in English, how deep in the international market Daydreaming would have traveled? Anyway... Thx Wave, for another great Band-Maid cover!

Interesting note: When the band formed Miku did not own a guitar and went out with no knowledge of what to buy and bought a Ricky, as seen in the Thrill MV. Apparently Kanami questioned her choice and her only reason was she liked the look. She used the Ricky for several year before she got her first Zemaitis as seen in this vid. She has been loyal to Z ever since and even has her own signature model, the Flappy Pigeon. The FP even has a hidden PO on it.

It's okay buddy, I thought that you weren't able to pay much attention to it during the live-stream. So I was still amped up for this. This song is always on the top 5/10 lists of Band-Maid songs, and I think it's obvious why. IMO this is Band Maid doing U2 better than U2 ever did. Speaking of other reactors... when Champ reacted to this song he said about the slide into the solo that it was like tires screeching before you got hit by a MAC truck, which I think is a good analogy.
My takeaway from the song has always been that somehow, in a vocal showcase with two wonderful singers, 20 seconds of Kanami made me feel the intensity and deep meaning of the song.

There are two things I love about this song: Kanami's solo and the subtle exchange of Saiki's and Miku's vocals. This is a deeply emotional song about an intimate moment that this person wishes would not end. In my mind Saiki's part represents the "adult" perspective that is attempting to rationalize between the understanding that the moment will soon end and that wishing it to last forever will not make it so. Miku's part represents the "inner child" who desires this moment to be never-ending. Kanami's solo, starting with that explosive slide seems to represent all the conflicting thoughts and emotions boiling over. Kanami said "A good guitar solo will trigger emotions. I always keep that in mind" and she definitely achieved that goal on "Daydreaming". I can't fault Kanami for calling this song a favorite.

Miku originally used a Rickenbacker 360 because she liked the way it looked. However, this was before she really learned to play guitar and likely found that the Rickenbacker didn't have the right sound or power for Band-Maid songs. The guitar she's playing in the video is a Zamaitis S24DT Arabesque, which has a body style more similar to a Telecaster.
And points to your for referencing Temper Trap.....you have good taste in bands... ;o)

There aren't too many "ballads" where you can say that the drums are one of the biggest highlights of the song. Akane's musicality on this track is unreal. The drums aren't just keeping time or driving the beat here. They are actually functioning as a "voice" along with the other instruments. She does a lot of amazing and technical playing on Band-Maid's other tracks. But I'd actually argue that Daydreaming is her master class.

One thing that makes this song work so well is how long they are able to maintain musical tension in that chorus without it getting boring. Saiki avoids the tonic for the first 7 measures and flirts with it briefly on the 8th before finally coming back home to it for real 16 measures in, with the rest of the band supporting it. It makes the emotional impact just immense.

I think up to the"World Domination" album, all the guitar parts were recorded by Kanami, and Miku had to practice her part (given by Kanami) before they played live. Kanami might look sweet and cute on the surface but she is a "drill sergeant" being Miku's guitar teacher and is also very demanding when it comes to perfecting their songs.

Band Maid...'We are going to do a softer song'; Akane... 'But I can still slay my drums right ?' is how I always describe this. Don't forget to check out the double drop Band Maid added to their official channel, Manners and Black Hole. Enjoy !

Santana has a different form factor guitar, I can only assume the ergonomics isn't what Kanami jives with.
Although, I recall she made a decision on what guitar would best fit BM in the beginning and it may not necessarily be her ultimate fave?

The song is about someone daydreaming how a failing relationship could have been made right.

I am convinced that Band Maid's success is down to Kanami's outstanding songwriting which will develop much further, Miku's lyrics and the band's all round outstanding talent and ability to add to the basic song. Kanami's solos stand her apart from most other guitarists at every level.

kanami seems to write Miku's guitar parts at or just above her level with the exception of different for wich she wrote the intramental dont belong and told miku if she could play that she could play different....i think for me still the best back n forth vocals is Freezer i really want to hear it live in person but as its an old song and not one of their compositions its very rarely played

Kanami sounds abit like "The Edge", and the whole song arrangement does sound U2 ish until the guitar solo.
    Still, it's a great song!!
