9:00 - wooden devise looks like a very small bowling pin. It is a darning egg. Yes, we used to repair our socks rather then buying new. My first sewing experience was repairing my own socks at age 6.
the brushes and the roller in the video 2:33 / 22:52 would be used when you hang wallpaper . Brushes to put the paste on the back of the wallpaper . Then after the paper is hung to help smooth it out . The roller for the seams where two pieces come together .
The big yellow brushes are for wall papering,,, The longest one is for smoothing out the wallpaper after it is on the wall,, the other 2 are for applying wallpaper paste,,, :-) Awesome score,,,
@@WhatTheHales Revere Ware is one of the BEST. The copper bottoms distribute the heat better. My ex-wife and i purchased a Set when we got married back around 1978. I still have the Set(40 years later).. they work GREAT!
In the late 50's my Mum brought me a pair of shoes that buttoned up, a hook was in the box to help undo them. The hook on the shoehorn is for the round buttons on shoes. I love the turkey platter, it's so bright and colourful. Why on earth would anyone put a disgusting filthy pillow in a storage unit? They were strange whoever thought that was a good idea!! Those are wallpaper brushes, Jeremy! The one that you have 2 of are for slathering on the paste, the longer one is for smoothing out the wallpaper once you get it on the wall, & the little roller is for pressing down the seams of the wallpaper so it sticks better.
That first brush is a wallpaper paste brush and the long one with no handle is for applying the wallpaper to the wall and getting the creases out of the paper.
22:53 The grater was probably made to put over a mixing bowl so you could grate directly into it, spinning to get the side you wanted to be in a comfortable position for your hand, and sliding to fit the top of the bowl.
Pretty sure the red plastic " Little Chef" is used to make a decorative rose using radishes like if you were putting together a garnish tray of vegetables. It flares the radish open in a pattern. Test it out Jeremy
Jeremy the video is very nice what you doing really showing you you find good antiques good collectible stuff try to sell them on auction they're very nice
The hook on the shoe horn is a lace puller for ladies boots. It helps pull the laces around the hooks without cuttting your fingers. The .round ball with the handle is a sock darning ball. It goes in the sock to the hole, so you can repair the sock.
Paul Revere's famous ride was actually misquoted when memorialized be Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's rendition, he actually said "the regulars are coming, the regulars are coming." As there were british troops already deployed and were in the area already. They wanted to keep the notification as discreet as possible.
Monte Cristo’s are really really high end Cuban cigars. These are the ones you can’t get in the US. Someone will definitely want that cigar box and the ash tray. Sell them as a set!
Paul Revere actually said, "Noise! You'll have noise enough before long! The regulars are coming out!" To the sentry outside Hancock's home. Soon after this he was captured by the British and William Dawes finished the ride. Revere was eventually released and he walked back to Hancock's house and helped him escape .
Jeremy, you could mention to Christian, there's a great poem called "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, but naturally there are some disputes as to what Paul likely shouted and how far he rode.
The brushes may have been for putting on wallpaper. Old wallpaper the glue had to be put on(with brush) and the long brush could have been used to smooth the wallpaper after it was put up.
Paul revere was the common man inventor hero of the revolution. Copper platinum on ship like the constellation, master spy, superior engraver and silversmith. Supposedly a leader of the Boston Tea Party. Listed as a hero in the C I A. You wish you could find a spoon he made, many are in museums.
Have you considered opening a “antique type store” and having Christian and a Patients run it for you. They seem to have a pleasant personality and willing to learn. They could work on commission and possibly take care of EBay sales too. If there was a store where people could see things they might buy it and possibly buy things on impulse. Just a suggestion because I like helping young people and it could help you reduce inventory.... BTW, I enjoy watching your videos and I would enjoy reading a book about George and your days doing what you do so well. Your comments about things actually make sense and if I ever join the ranks of storage locker buyers, I would make sure to follow the suggestions and points you make.
I Thought it sharpened tools like chisels and to re-edge screwdrivers, other tools that needed sharp edges fixed etc. Knifes, axes, farm tools, swords and other straight metal tools were sharpened on a big wheeled stones. Usually two grades of coarseness in the stones.

I would buy that saucepan it’s perfect. Those brushes we would use for wall paper hanging.
That was fun!
Keep up the good work. 😎📦👍
It's to make radish roses. You cut off the end of a radish and push it down on the crazy looking thing!

The round wooden thing in with the shoehorn/buttonhooks is probably for darning socks. Put the round thing in the soxk for drning the heel or toe.
That alligator purse could be worth a few dollars, especially to someone who likes quality vintage items.
My mother bought my sisters and I all turkey platters like that one for Christmas in 1968. I still have mine.

8:12 when you removed "shoe horn" and revealed the "hook" ......hook was used to do up buttons on shoes
7:40 it’s not an old shoe horn, it’s used to button ladies button up shoes a long time ago.
My 86 year old mother still has that exact same Revereware pot. I don't remember her not having it.
1:25 - Quote “ The British are coming!”
You saying you have a bad back reminded me of this: "I have a weak back!" "How long have you had a weak back?" "Oh about a week back!" (Three Stooges)
