    Hello everyone, its been a while... again...
    Over the past year, I've been struggling with a few projects that got out of hand and ultimately needed to be redesigned... Not to mention they suffered quite a bit of scope creep. As part of scaling them back, I started designing this modular launch system that I've shown here to make help get them done faster.
    Moving forward, I want to shift my focus to projects that are smaller in scope. Basically, instead of projects that try to branch into too many things I want to focus on projects that do one thing well. This hooopefuly will result in more frequent uploads, but no guarantees.
    Thanks for sticking around all this time!
    Oh one last thing, if you want to watch the launch system explode, I made a music video for it: th-cam.com/video/MXoZy466bTQ/w-d-xo.html

    • @Archimedes.5000
      @Archimedes.5000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@rupalibelsare5376 there are 2 (sets of) engines, one pushing up, and one pushing down.
      The one pushing down has slightly less fuel than the one pushing up, so after some time the probe will fly up and destroy the connecting part.
      The exact timing of this procedure is not automatic, it must have been timed manually by the creator (like synchronizing 2 clocks).
      The piston is used so that it can be a moving part without it being disconnected from the craft.

    • @Stratzenblitz75

      Asymmetric payloads are a challenge for this vehicle for sure. Lining up the center of mass is a good start, but if the drag/lift is unbalanced that will cause problems. In the latter case, you need to either find a different orientation or go slow through your ascent.

    12:10 With how long the rocket is, I wonder if you could have just spun it and catapulted the payload into orbit skyhook-style!?

      hmm, haven't thought about that. Im not sure its feasible to do the entire circularization burn, but you might be able to make up the last ~50 m/s with a spin launch

    "Oh just look for what looks like a solid block of TV static you can't miss it."

    I have only played KSP on PS4, where it is really quickly at the limit in terms of cpu or ram but this looks really fun

    KSP forces players to do sea level launches for structures that would be assembled in space if built in reality, and the result is fun!
