      I did too. Thank you for reporting that promptly. I have made a plan should such a terrible dearth ever occur in the future. I’m going to binge watch past episodes including dr. Griffin’s other podcast, “ Infectious Diseases Puscast.

    My heart dropped when you reported the rise in auto-immune diseases after Covid. I attended the funeral of a colleague who died of aggressive scleroderma that destroyed her lungs, and another friend just received a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis. :( Thank you and all doctors for all you do.

    doctors going to work with covid and mask-optional hospitals are basically eugenics policies. How are people supposed to get chemo without risking their lives? How are people supposed to get surgery or have babies?

      Very sick people go to the hospital , the hospital should not risk exposing its patients to Covid disease.. Especially when wearing an N95 properly greatly reduces spread. There is a monetary cost with disposable masks. Mmm, could that be the reason an effective mitigation protocol has been abandoned??? 🙄

    Excellent episode, as usual. I'd be interested in any commentary Dr. Griffith might have on post-corvid autonomic dysfunction (it goes by several names in the literature). I've read research that suggests this syndrome may also be autoimmune in origin. Have you had patients with this syndrome? Any lessons learned?

    Make a plan: here in China Paxlovid & Remdesivir are effectively unavailable. My plan is 'not to get it' again. So N95s and care over socialising (as I had been doing for 3 years). Along with 1.1b I got infected in December (having had 3 doses of Sinovac jabs). Apart from fatigue which got better after 3 months I've had no other sequelae (that I know about).
    I'm alarmed that mask mandates are being removed for public transport but still in place for hospitals (but yesterday 20% of visitors in hospital were unmasked).
    Looking at OZ & NZ experience of abandoning Zero Covid measures, they suffered a massive wave within 1 month AND another big wave 3 months later. I'm expecting that 2nd wave soon!

    • @WillNewcomb
      @WillNewcomb ปีที่แล้ว

      Famous last words! Reports now coming in of the beginnings of a 2nd wave here in China including reports of 42 cases of XB.1.16

    Have been struggling to get a good answer on how to revaccinate my post auto transplant patients for covid. Now that the monovalent vaccines are no longer available, it sounds like a bivalent booster, then a second dose at least 2 months afterwards. Patients will appreciate the simplicity, and won't miss the frustration of trying to find someone to give them an original vaccine.

      The latest data does not show any clinical benefit to continue 'boost' a 4th or 5th time etc. In fact, there has been much discussion about autoimmune events with increased/elevated antibodies, so that could be a concern. Vincent explained he has had his 3 jabs, plus a natural infection, so he is completely topped up, and he said he would take paxlovid if he got infected again. The recent data does not show clinical benefit for him to continue to boost.

      @@janephillips6031 Thank you Jane. I have had 2 Astra zenaca, 1 Moderna, and 1 Moderna Bivalent. I have continued N95 masking, and avoid restaurants. I haven't had Covid to my knowledge and it still seems wise to avoid it. Dr. Osterholm of CIDRAP recently got infected and was very alarmed by it and tried hard to pinpoint how/where he got infected. I live in BC, Canada, and got an invitation for another booster. I am 6 months out from last Mrna booster. Also Dr John Campbell who was a beacon of info, now says he won't get any more vaxs. What are us lay people supposed to think?

    And what happens to the autounnune people--the people who have been injured by the MRNA's (tinnitus, etc). Where is Novavax in all of this. I am really tired of being ignored by the medical profession and you guys seem to be no better.

      For Novavax, I am not aware of any safety signals other than myocarditis/pericarditis, which are at similar rates to Pfizer.

      The autounnune were those we would have protected with swift lock downs and free N95s. If you got it from MRNAs then welcome to the club. Wear that mask and socially distance, for the rest of you life, like those of us who had it before C19 have to.

    • @marklemont3735
      @marklemont3735 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately all vaccines have always had risks to some part of the population. Some of the reactions to the mRNA vaccines are the same as past vaccines. It is unfortunate there has not been enough study about the vaccine injured in general in the past, to help us help the vaccine injured of the present. There are some medical and audiology professionals who are admitting they are seeing “what appears to be” vaccine injured people.
