      I loved how in last night's event they just casually mentioned the co-main between Rodriguez and Emmitt, not even a mention that it's a title fight🤣🤣🤣 that's got to be one of the most under hyped title fights in recent history, it's almost like their own employees don't even realize it's a title fight.

      @Fancy.Frog. ปีที่แล้ว +24

      Dana has always been the type to make the fighters carry the weight of the promotion while he just carries the bags of cash. He expects them to do the promotion. That's why he plays favorites with the ones that do(Paddy, Sugar Show, McGregor). And neither Volk or Islam does any promo outside what they are required to do for UFC media events.

    Igor is an overlooked legend, a lot of newer fans will probably dismiss him as not really fighting anyone, and that's partly true, but he was a product of his time, MMA was still in it's early stages at the time, he was one of few fighters that had a strong ground game and a strong striking game. And he was also massively undersized in a huge amount of his fights. Guys were still just kinda figuring things out as they went back then, and he was a part of that pioneering stage. It's pretty crazy to imagine what he could have done if he had the benefit of coming up in the modern era, after guys like him had already drawn out the map.

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Igor like you say, was a product of his time. He was extremely stocky and built like a tank, but unfortunately its hard to find him succeeding at all in modern MMA because he's so undersized and the fighters these days are so much better and more athletic. 5 foot 8 with a 68 inch reach (there are Bantamweights with a longer reach than him) when most modern LHW's are over 6 foot tall with reaches up to 80 inches? Not to mention they're so much better these days? Hard to see him succeeding unless he can find a way to healthily cut down to lower divisions.

    Patricio Pitbull (c) vs AJ McKee Jr. 24 pro wins (29 wins if you're including Amateur fights)
    Bellator 263 (7-31-2021)
    Bellator Featherweight Grand Prix Finals and Featherweight title but most importantly $1,000,000 on the line.
    This was truly a winner-takes-all fight.
    Patricio was a two-time champion at the time on a 7 fight win streak over the last 4 ¼ years successfully defending his Featherweight title 5 times at this point even picking up the lightweight title along the way with a KO win over Michael Chandler becoming Bellator's 2nd of only two double champs.
    Meanwhile,AJ McKee Jr. had a 17 fight win streak stretching all the way back to his Bellator and pro debut in 2015.If you include his amateur career then AJ had a 22 fight win streak going back to 2013 which would make it an 8 year unbeaten streak for AJ at the time.
    A match like this was a definite rarity for Bellator so just saying.
    Unrelated,for those who want to know and don't know,

      They don't even have the dignity to promote Slap Fighting on another Channel, they're using the UFC's platform to shove that shit down our throats and then old Dana comes along and says 'if you don't like it, don't watch it'? The lack of self-awareness of this bald tomato.

    Leon didn't "have his lucky moment." Look again, he set up that kick with a feint. That was skill.

    • @saucy2k963
      @saucy2k963 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lucky doesn’t mean it didn’t take any skill. Regardless of what he did, finishing a fight within the last minute In a fight he was down 4-1 is pretty lucky.

    • @dannymirjanovic8453
      @dannymirjanovic8453 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      They said he had his rocky moment not lucky moment. As in his nickname and big comeback win

    • @jocoolshow
      @jocoolshow ปีที่แล้ว

      @@saucy2k963 it’s less and less lucky when in hindsight we see Leon training that kick with the same or similar set ups, we see Leon calling a headshot KO from the beginning, and we see people writing Leon off as another win for Usman while we have high level strikers like Wonderboy noting that Usman ducks to his right when straight left punches come his way, and that Leon could capitalize on that and KO him
      All things that happened before the fight

    • @saucy2k963
      @saucy2k963 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jocoolshow again I understand the preparation and how he set it up and worked on it. I’m saying the timing of it was very fortunate. Usman didn’t have to engage at all, he could’ve coasted to a win. He decided to engage and paid the price. That’s what I mean by lucky. Plus the standup was pretty lucky as well.

    Im excited for the volk fight and talk about it a lot. I think that it is pretty ridiculous that dana and the crew are more focused on CTE League. Volk has the opportunity to be the 1st tested P4P king. Like there have been some people to grab belts in other weight classes, yes. But if Volk captures this and goes down to defend in his next fight.... I believe it will be the 1st time anyone has done it. Im almost certain that everyone else has either lost their defense or vacated it in some way or another.
