    It's not the protein that causes the damage. Overeating any food can stress and overburden the kidneys. Organic, grass-fed meat is loaded w anti-inflammatory bioavailable nutrition, and it's in fact, the carbs, grains and direct sugars and sugars they convert to that pose a danger to kidney health. Dairy other than grass-fed butter or heavy cream with their high fat content like plain or low-fat milk are terrible because they readily convert to sugar. But the biggest issue is vegetables. It's critical w kidney issues to avoid the night shades and stick w things like various deep colored leafy greens (avoid spinach due to high oxalates), asparagus, cauliflower, beets, red cabbage, celery, etc. And remember, veggies are loaded w anti-nutrients and toxic plant compounds/defense chemicals along with pesticides which are bad overall. Digestive issues galore, bloating, etc come along w excessive veggie consumption. Fruits can be eaten in moderation as well, but you really have to watch the high sugar content and stick to tart berries like blackberries, raspberries and strawberries for nutritional value, and be careful w say blueberries because they have three times the sugar. I select fruits carefully and also supplement with citrus bioflavanoids to get the potent rind of these fruits which is where the action is at.
    I was diagnosed with lGA Nephropathy and CKD after a stone did some damage to my filters when l was bodybuilding, which also led to massive proteinuria. With an intense medical protocol and being super strict with my diet, l was able to reverse much of the damage and am still taking proprietary supplements that curb inflammation and adress the complexity of the condition. Aryuvedic medicine also something to consider.
    Best of luck to anyone with kidney issues 🙏

      @@PureNutrition101 Ayurvedic is something l haven't fully realized as far as a full protocol, but l am using some in the form of kidney supplements which complement my diet and the one med l take, Losartan. I restarted it after a several year break since it keeps urine protein down and is actually a life-extending medicine..each case is different. I think the biggest thing is to curb inflammation w things like curcumin and omega 3s, and as far as diet, quality meats, fish, leafy greens and veg..limiting carbs and sugars as much as possible. Hydration w electrolytes and light to moderate fitness so to not over tax the kidneys and keep creatinine low. Another thing is detoxing w herbal teas, apple cider vinegar, lemon, ginger, and of course, baking soda. Over simplifying the situation by saying to eat more grains or carbs and reducing may cause more harm than good. While the kidneys have problems handling protein, it is not the protein which caused their initial and continuing damage to the kidneys. The major problem is Oxalate in certain grains and vegetables which plug up and damage the kidneys. Just saying to eat more grains and vegetables WITHOUT considering the Oxalate content in them is wrong.

    • @PureNutrition101
      @PureNutrition101  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You make a valid point about oxalates and kidney health. It's crucial to consider the oxalate content in grains and vegetables, as they can impact kidney function. Balancing protein intake while being mindful of oxalates is key. Have you found specific resources or strategies helpful in managing oxalate levels in your diet?

    • @danielglang6312
      @danielglang6312 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PureNutrition101 There are multiple charts and other articles about Oxalates and Oxalates in a kidney diet available on the internet. I did download a chart which broke down the various carbs/vegetables by high, moderate, and low content but I can't find it on the web right now even though I still have my own downloaded copy.
      I am still in the early stages of researching the best diet for myself. Each of us has unique needs and tolerances. For myself, I tend to be hypoglycemic as shown by a 6 hour glucose tolerance test so I need to be very mindful of carb intake and how carbs spike insulin and the complications of that insulin spike.
      Sad to say, here in America we've been bombarded about the need to have a "balanced diet" with emphases of carbs being dominate in that diet which is very wrong. Even today, many in the health industry still stress reducing protein intake in favor of carb intake, they seem to confuse the more readily available energy from carbs over the longer term sustained energy from protein.
      We should be mindful of the fact that any excess energy derived from the glucose in carbs simply gets stored as fat since it is not immediately used and won't remain in the bloodstream too long. It is the function of insulin to enable to entry of bloodstream glucose into ALL the body cells which includes fat cells where it is either consumed for energy or stored for later use. When one becomes insulin resistant due to excessive carb intake, insulin becomes restricted from fulfilling it's main function and diabetes and other diseases result.
      As a matter of fact, eating a carb dominated diet results in various rising and falling of blood sugar levels during the day. It is the falling of the blood sugar levels which triggers the "hunger pangs" and the need to consume more carbs to again raise the blood sugar level which again causes another inrush of insulin to handle the recent raise in blood sugar and the cycle repeats again and again.
      Dt.Atkins in his ketogenic "Diet Revolution" of the 1970s discovered the fact that a ketogenic diet provided a more stable blood sugar level and alleviates many "mental disease" symptoms. Also, during the same time period, two doctors specializing in how the body processes various foods wrote a book titles "Low Blood Sugar and You". this book is no longer readily available (in print) but one of those doctors wrote a new version titled "The New Low Blood Sugar and You" which is available on Amazon. It is revealed in the first Low Blood Sugar and you book that the initial standard for high blood sugar was developed at an insane asylum because of the need to have constant access to the patients for testing and analysis.
      While Dr. Atkins and other early researchers on blood sugar and metabolism may not have had a perfect understanding of everything they observed, and they were often ridiculed for what they said, they did provide a firm foundation of what we know and are learning today.
      A ketogenic or low carb diet seems best for protecting the brain since the brain can much more readily use ketones for it's functions than glucose.

      @@PureNutrition101 Thank you for your reply. I’m 8 days into a fast and my back pain has gone I get twinges now rarely but at least my back doesn’t bother me. I still get a little foam on good days none. I have an appointment for a blood test which is is almost a month away as the NHS is too oversubscribed. Once I get the blood test will take action from there.
      At moment just fasting to get rid of all fat and to heal. I have systemic sclerosis and got myself from death knocking on my door, getting all the symptoms that come with this autoimmune disease, not being able to walk, breath properly, constant and sometimes out of control coughing, unable walk upstairs without being exhausted and exercise was non-existent.
      I knew I had to start exercising so started doing resistant exercises, one press-up and squats per day as lost all muscle mass. Built up, practically took 7 years to now able to do 15 press-ups, 30 squats of three reps and walking up hills. Still trying to get fitter as built up a lot of muscle as did extensive dancing when was young and relying on some muscle memory.
      I’m hoping to do two or three weeks fast, might go for a month and then hit the carnivore diet as I don’t eat any wheat products and went hard on fish and veg (with ghee, herbs and herbal teas) when I was healing myself when diagnosed.
      If I can get over this period with my kidneys I will continue to treat my body like a temple. I was never an unfit person but when my son was diagnosed with leukaemia at just 2.5 years old I was always in hospital and for his duration of treatment I ate just bread and sweet things mainly and no exercise. I ballooned up to 17 stones but was solid because had a lot of muscle under it. I never addressed my health issue and continued to eat that way until I started getting signs of difficulty to walk at times - then came a diagnosis.
      Fingers crossed I can get over this part and I should be good to go as feeling good at the moment. I’m 58 years young. Thank you.

    As with most youtube health videos, not all information can be presented, lest every video be a long scholarly production.
    Truth:
    Not all red meat is equal!
    Only pure grass fed AND grass finished beef is healthy. Because our grocery store beef is corn fed and corn finished, then dyes and gases are added, it is now "Processed" rendering it a metabolic mess, too unhealthy for my consumption. Consuming grocery store beef weakens the immune system. A by product of protein metabolism in our body is ammonia. This ammonia negatively effects over all health, beginning with the kidneys.
    WHAT CAUSES CKD?
    How about....
    environmental chemicals such as , fragrances whether it be perfumes, fabric softeners, or plug in air fresheners, or even poor quality essential oils. Dry cleaning fluid contributes to not only kidney disease, but also bladder cancer. Most these same things contributing to kidney disease also contribute to cancer. Food preservatives, carbs and overall poor quality food, such as grocery store beef that overwork our kidneys.
    Today, we have a new hidden source of concern: most all of our produce is being sprayed with Bill Gates *Apeel or Edipeel. This spray has 94% mystery ingredients. Makers of Apeel refuse to share their ingredients list, yet our FDA does not take it off the market. Some researchers have suggested there are heavy metals in Apeel spray. I dont know, because ingedients are an industry secret. Apeel pretty much shellacs the produce to the point it takes forever to break down. Fruit flies will not even hover the aging produce. My personal experience: Apeel sprayed produce stays fresh looking on the outside while the inside becomes rubbery mush. Apeel will not wash off the produce, so we are forced to eat it. According to the produce managers I spoke to at Kroger and Walmart, they are proud providers of *Apeel coated produce. I contacted Costco produce manager. He told me that Costco's produce will not be sprayed with Apeel. We are on our own folks....do your own research to find healthy food sources. FYI: USA food is banned in many countries due to it being so processed and dirty. Did you know... our pork is banned in 160 countries.
    Is it any wonder that kidney disease rates are spiraling upward?
    Clean food source: Azure Standard. Check them out...NO, I HAVE NO AFFLIATION with Azure Standard. However, I hope to reward those food providers who go the extra mile to provide clean food.

      It's important to consider the practices involved in commercial fruit farming, even with organic claims. Chemicals are often used to manage pests and diseases. When choosing fruits, washing them thoroughly can help reduce exposure to residues. Have you found any specific methods or sources helpful in ensuring cleaner produce for your diet?

      "I appreciate your comment. I strive to keep discussions open and informative. Regarding iodized salt and eggs, they can be part of a balanced diet for many people. Iodized salt helps prevent iodine deficiency, and eggs provide essential nutrients. What other dietary topics are you interested in exploring?"

      It's important to critically evaluate information about food choices. Soybeans can be controversial due to their phytoestrogen content, which some people may want to moderate in their diet. Have you found specific reasons or research that lead you to avoid soybeans? Your perspective can help others understand different viewpoints on dietary choices.

      I understand your frustration. For kidney health, focusing on a balanced diet low in sodium, phosphorus, and potassium is essential. Have you found specific dietary guidelines or resources that have been helpful?

      It can be discouraging especially when you get constipated. With the kidney diet you have to cut out stuff that would help with constipation. I know because my best friend got more constipated before she died.
