really loving the love/hate relationship of darby and sammy, cant wait to see the long term storytelling between them being rivals but also occasionally teaming up, also darby’s mic work is incredible and sammy’s improved quite a bit too

@NYC_Goody honestly, we all know it's bad. It's like we're parents watching our children in a play and seeing them get a little better each time makes us proud. With that said, they still have a long way to go, and the heel champion shouldn't get cheered for saving us all from bad promos.
I do really like Darby's work. It's not cookie cutter. It's Darby being Darby. He gets his points across, and he has a great story. People are looking for wrestlers to sound a certain way. That's not human. Darby's fine. The same people said Sting's promos weren't good or Bret Hart's.

Looks like they're trying to build Jungle Boy to be the big babyface of the story. They're brave to give Darby a bit of a heelish side to make Jack blue-eyed.
They always try and push him as this underdog antihero skateboard guy lol 😂
Darby is a babyface with a bit of a tweener persona (being an outsider with no allies besides Sting, who is accompanying him less and less). Jungle Boy can't be anything else because he's limited with any type of character work. Darby has the best gimmick and the most charisma of these 3 guys for my money.
Its within his character though. His only friend is Sting and the other 2 are just competition. So of course he'd be talking some smack, he's kind of a tweener here

I think you can see the different degrees with MJF being a cool heel. JB being a white meat(no pun intended) face. Darby being a Tweener. And Sammy kinda playing the same as Darby except more on the heel side.

Props to the four pillars of AEW for opening Dynamite. Each challenger gave their reasons and beliefs why they should be AEW World Champion while the champion wasn't going to make it easy for any of them.

These guys are raw on the mic. But you could tell their format and way of delivering, they are improving and will be tops in promo very soon. Also I’d have Darby as a top 10 wrestler in the world. He can go with the heavyweights.
It's tough for them, they're not hopeless, but MJF is generational. Only a handful of wrestlers in any company could go up against him and look good

It’s as if Sammy is the only one getting a promo class probably from Chris Jericho. All of them are raw, but Sammy did well compared to the two.

jungle boy needs to turn heel, scrap the chops and work on his promos, not ready for the title by a longshot.
When Darby told Sammy that if he and Chris Jericho had a problem with what he said & for them to talk to him & Sting to talk about it, I got goosebumps because it got me hopeful that we'll see Jericho & Sting in the same ring together before he officially retires. I've been wanting Jericho vs Sting for quite some time now & with Darby mentioning it makes me hopefully we'll get Jericho & Sting in the same ring together very soon.

I'm lost with the Pillars tournament. If it's just Darby,Sammy and Jungle Boy involved why not just announce a Triple threat match or announce all 3 will face MJF. It's probably gonna be all 3

I appreciate AEW giving us a match from this tournament the same night. The anticipation feels highest when it first gets announced so I'm glad we didn't have to wait til next week to see it going down 👍🏾
At least they're finally letting them attempt to improve on the mic. I think Darby is doing the best of the 3. He also is the only one of the 3 with any form of charisma.

Aew is slowly bringing the value of promos back up. MJF has risen the tide. A lot of them are still getting comfortable, but it's really paying off that AEW trusts it's performers enough to let them talk and get practice on live TV. It's going to be hugely important to AEWs success

@gmac1981hg the fans popped for the heel just because they got relieved of that promo. To Tony's defense, I hope he used that to determine who's competing for the title. Jack definitely eliminates himself. Hopefully, whoever is more over with the fans will compete with MJF. It's still a waste of time because none are worthy.

these four pillars segments have been great. they’ve all been elevated so much by this feud. darby’s become amazing on the mic and sammy’s improved as well, jack still needs some more practice but max is an absolute star. love the chemistry and history between all them, cant wait to see how the four pillars storyline plays out longterm and really hope we get that 4 way for the belt
i'm gonna keep it a buck i don't see what any of you see in those 3 in the ring. i'd rather watch paint dry then listen to any of them talk. heres to hoping they improve in the coming years because these being the "pillars" of this company for the future is... worrisome with all due respect
Darby has come a long way in his promo game. He's the only one (aside from MJF, obviously) that actually sounds like he means what he's saying.
This segment was full of so much line stumbling. I really wanted to like it, but without MJF to bounce off of, Darby and Jack really got exposed here.
