i am picturing you as a cute grandma that gives out beautiful soaps to your grandkids all the time lol (if you are actually like that in real life then i'll be so jealous of your grandkids!!) also this soap is so beautiful and i have never seen anything quite like it
Hello, and thank you for the thoughtful comment. I am a grandma and all my relatives including my grandkids get soap as gifts. You nailed it, LOL! I'm happy you watched my video and your comment put a big smile on my face. :) ione eve
yes thats what i was thinking! you remind me of my grandma, she sounded just like you and she was into crafts and stuff haha. she also loved boats and the water and im sure if she could see this she would be amazed :)
Hi Becca ~ I appreciate you watching my video and your thoughtful comment. I'm very grateful for your kind words, because there are some awesome soap makers I've watched. To be counted among them is an honor. You are very sweet. Thank you! :) ione eve
Your soap bars looked even better the drawing you made in the beginning. All those extra colours really gave the final picture a lovely effect. Your attention to detail is absolutely admirable. I can't even imagine how long it must have taken for you to finish these bars of soap, what with having to wait for each separate layer to set until you could pour more soap on top. I loved how you explained each step so even an ignorant like me could understand the whole process. Thank you for sharing this video with us. And you finished it off with tiny little stars on top...it was perfect!!
Thank you for watching my video and the gracious compliments! It only took me 3 years to attempt this soap again, LOL! I'm going to try harder to do another one soon. :) ione eve
This is an absolutely stunning work of art! You've opened my eyes to a whole new world of soap making and I'm so inspired to make my own beautiful scenic soaps.
Hi Kenna ~ Thank you very much for the wonderful compliment. I'm happy you're inspired to make a scenic soap. It takes some planning and careful execution, but the reward is fantastic. Best of luck in your soap making adventure! :) ione eve
The bars came out really well, would like to see you un mould the soap and cut it, it's the most satisfying part ✨ glad you are making videos of your progress ☺️
Thank you for watching my video and the sweet compliment. I'll try to include more cutting scenes in my videos. I usually fiddle around so much it may get boring, LOL! :) ione eve
Hi Elaine ~ thank you for watching my video and the lovely compliment. I am disappointed with the position of the boat, and have plans to do it different next time. At first, I toyed with the idea of calling the soap "Beached" instead of "Sunset", LOL!
Thank you for watching my video and the lovely compliment. I love summer too, so I understand your yearning - hope you have a great one this year! :) ione eve
What an amazingly beautiful soap! I admire your ability to create this type of art. What a wonderful outcome for all your planning & effort. Thank you for sharing this creation.
This is the third video I have seen you make and I have tears in my eyes. This is Beautiful Mrs Ione and you have such a Lovely Spirit. You make me smile. You have a new Subscriber. You’re hands are Blessed 💚😊
I appreciate you watching my videos and taking the time to leave such a touching comment. You are right about being blessed. The times that I say a prayer before making soap is when it turns out the best. :) ione
Oh my word they are like little pieces of art. Honestly if I had this soap it would never get used, I would have to frame it! Best sunset soap ive ever seen, all the hard work was definitely worth it, simply amazing x
It’s absolutely incredible! I love your videos it’s so amazing to watch the process of making the most beautiful soaps. Thank you for taking the time to share it with the world!!!
Hi Lorelei ~ Thank you for watching my video and the thoughtful comment. Hearing from nice people, like you, is what makes doing these videos worthwhile. :) ione eve
Thank you, Karen ~ I appreciate you watching my video and the gracious comment. It means a lot coming from you. Your beautiful creations are always jaw-dropping to me! :) ione eve
Eve, I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed this soap video. I enjoy you humility! Trying and hoping and overjoyed as it works out. This is a beautiful work of art
I watch a lot of videos in a day and I have to say by far this is the best I've seen in months!!! What a fantastic job you did on this.... I'm in awe. I've never made soap before but this makes me want to try. Great job and thank you for sharing this, I know it had to be time consuming.... Yellow is right, you are a true artist!
Thank you, Dawn! I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to leave such a thoughtful comment. Hearing from nice people, like you, is what makes doing these videos worthwhile. If you decide to try making soap I have to warn you, it can become addicting, LOL! :) ione eve
Hi Maggie ~ thank you for watching and the lovely compliment. Sunset soaps won't make it to the Online Store. I had a list of people from when I made Sand & Sea that had first choice. I only have 1 bar left. :(
This is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve just started soap making and wanted to do a sunset so this is the first one that popped up on my search. Wow! I’m not ready for the details that you were able to create but you have me a great idea of how to use color. So beautiful. Subscribed!
Hi Kellie ~ Thank you for watching my video and subscribing to our channel. It was a pleasure reading your wonderful comment. I hope you'll love soap making as much as I do. Best wishes for success in your sunset soap endeavor, and most of all - have fun! :) ione
So I'm watching this video of yours and saw that I left a comment seven months ago! However, today, having watched many, many, many soaping videos and gotten a few batches of soap under my belt - though not enough to be very efficient at it - I'm struck by the amount of time it must've taken to design and plan the construction of this AMAZING soap!!!! Astounding, really astounding... it's very much a reflection of the artistry you so wonderfully possess! It looks to me like the fact that the pink colored soap thickened a bit more than planned very much worked in your favor! Watching you apply it seemed as if the thickness enabled you to really sculpt your sunset, lending to it the subtle textured effect of the presence of clouds! So, so amazing..... ❤, k
Thank you, Katherine! Scenic soap does take a lot of planning and preparation, not to mention the time element putting it all together. I really enjoy the challenge, and plan on doing it again! :) ione eve
Hi and thank you for watching my video. I appreciate the nice compliment too! I looked for the stars glitter a couple weeks ago when shopping online at Brambleberry, but couldn't find them anymore. Now, I feel I need to make them last, LOL!
Hi, I'm a beginning soaper and I just love your channel. I'm learning a lot and getting good inspiration from you. You have a real artistic flair with your soaps, I admire your talent!
Thank you for watching my video and the lovely compliment. After I made the embeds for this soap, I did a lot of procrastinating before completing the rest. I'm not sure patience is what I would call it, LOL! :) ione eve
Absolutely incredible Ione you amaze me. That soap is a work of art. I love it. Plus you're a lovely lady too. Thanks for sharing your talent awesome.💐
This video was marvelous! Loved the craft, but the way you edited the video showed a lot of talent (along with the soap, of course). The smooth jazz was a joy to listen to. Reminded me of my years in San Diego and how much I miss it. You made my day! =)
Hi Peggy ~ Thank you for watching my video and for your very thoughtful comment. It was a joy to read.I lived for a time in San Diego too. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I got homesick and returned. I still enjoy living by the ocean although the water is much colder here. Thanks again! :) ione eve
This is a really beautiful work of art. Your soaps are always beautiful, special and very unique. I was won over to your TH-cam channel when I first watched you make Strawberry Fields. You are a truly talented artisan. Thank you very much for taking the time to make these videos.
You are quite the artist, Ione, very talented indeed. Your incredible eye for color, your imagination and sophisticated knowledge for soap making are most impressive. I see you have your colours pre-mixed in bottles. I would love to know how you prepare them. Jane
Hello Jane ~ thank you for watching and the very thoughtful comment. It was heart-lifting! To answer your question, I buy cosmetic-grade minerals and mica in powder form. I mix them with extra light olive oil. Mica doesn't shake-up well, so I use little containers instead of squirt bottles for those. Mica is mixed at a ratio of 1 part mica, 2 parts oil. Other minerals are mixed at 1 part colorant, 5 parts oil. I use a frother to fully incorporate them before pouring into the squirt bottles. Because of oil contained in the colors, I adjust my superfat level lower depending on how much color I expect to use. I hope this helps, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
Ione I am just... WOW'd! That is amazingly gorgeous my dear. I have no idea how you'd make your money back with all the love and time you put into that loaf but it's beautiful. True Art!
Thank you for watching and the thoughtful comment. I appreciate your lovely compliment. I've always made soap for the joy of it. I do sell some to help with the cost, but have never aimed to profit from this hobby. :) ione eve
Gorgeous soap. I am willing to do this soap but without the sailboat. That is probably too complicated for me. I have been soaping for less than two months now. Thanks for all the tips. My soap turns out quite well and I just got some colors in the mail yesterday that I cant wait to use!
I just love watching you work Ione (hope I spelt that right?) you have such wonderful patience and calm. You have inspired me with literally every video of yours that I watch ❣️ thank you x
Hi MammaCass ~ What a thoughtful comment! Thank you for watching my video and taking the time to write such kind words. I appreciate it very much. :) ione
So pretty. Love watching your videos. I know it takes a little more time on your end to record, edit and post but you are a wonderful soaper and I enjoy learning new things from you. Thank you ;)
Wow ione this is the first of your videos that I have watched and I am completely in awe of your creative talent. What a gorgeous soap. I wouldn't want to use it just keep it on the bathroom bench. You must have been soaping for a long time? Truly stunning!
Hello Lynne ~ thank you for watching my video, and the lovely compliments. I've been making soap about 7 years with many "dud" batches under my belt, LOL! I have more successes as time goes on, but always feel blessed when one comes out pretty. Happy soaping! :) ione eve
Hi Madeline ~ Thank you for watching my video and your thoughtful comment. I hope you will give cold process soap making a try. I have to warn you though, it can become addicting, LOL! Kind regards, Ione :)
EvesGardenSoaps already addicted to melt and pour. Lol. I've always been a bit of a closet artist. I've discovered that painting with mica is something I'm really quite good at. Discovered a technique by accident. I have pets and the lye scares me a bit. But I love working with color. Can you do clear portions like the glycerin with cold process.
Hi Madeline ~ I would love to see how you paint with mica. I'm going to give it a try with some sea shell embeds, but haven't done it before. There are some videos on how to make melt and pour soap base, but they come out rather yellow instead of clear. I'm not sure if it is considered cold process method. Regular cold process soap is not clear. I know you can do many more design techniques with cold process soap than you can with M&P. While safety precautions are necessary when working with lye, it's really not too bad. The main things are to wear gloves and goggles, work in a well ventilated area and handle with care. I measure the lye and water into separate containers. Then, add the lye into the water under the stove fan. Always add lye to the water, never the other way around. Stir until the water is clear. I cover the lye/water container and put it in the freezer to cool to 100 degrees or less before working with it. While it's cooling I get the mold and oils ready. If you decide to give cold process method a try, I would love to hear about your experience. In the meantime, I hope you'll keep in touch. :) ione
Iona the is just awesome I really like the art work in this soaping video it is fabulous you just image the how it smells; you have a good eye for color and detail
Hi Lala ~ Thank you for watching my video! I'm very happy knowing that my soap inspired your beautiful creation. Thank you for sharing that with me. :) ione
Hi Suzzette ~ Thank you for watching my video and your lovely compliment. I hope you try your hand at making soap and find it as enjoyable as I do. Don't worry about the artistic aspects at first, just see if you like making your own simple soap. The design work can come later. Happy soaping! :) ione
Hi Theresa ~ thank you for watching my video and the lovely comment. I appreciate it very much. I'm gearing up to try and do this again. Fingers crossed, LOL! :) ione eve

Wonderful job Ione, The boat sinking down to the sand makes it look like someone pulled
it up to the shore line. Sooo beautiful. Hugs !
Hi Elaine ~ thank you for watching my video and the lovely compliment. I am disappointed with the position of the boat, and have plans to do it different next time. At first, I toyed with the idea of calling the soap "Beached" instead of "Sunset", LOL!

:) ione
