Apparently the show producers have suggested that there are 12 different variations of the stone talismans that are used to ward off the creatures. There is also significance in the trees, like when they show how objects and people can go inside a tree and then reappear in a random place, maybe that's what's happened to all the people stuck there, like they've somehow gone through the world tree and come out somewhere/someplace else. the only thing that hurts this purgatory theory is children like the girl who died in 1st episode, Ethan and specially Victor. What would he had done at that age to be forced to spend decades in a purgatory? That makes no sense.
8:34 I wonder if “proxy” is used as a math or logic clue, to like what Jade mentions in season 2 about a Venn Diagram (referring to the symbol he keeps seeing) which could be a clue about using *symbolic logic* to figure out the mystery? He mentioned it when talking to Tabitha by the cave entrance.
Well done. Although I'm suprised that you didn't mention the chess symbolism. Also I did mull over the idea that everyone is dead but I think it's too easy/ovvious and sort of a cliche, which is why I'm leaning away from that particular theory. We will see. I love this show!
Thanks! I decided to leave the chess symbology (along with other clues/symbols) for a separate video to keep this one short. I also agree that the “they are dead” plot alone is too predictable for the creators to shoot for (given their past work). I’m super excited for the future episodes because I think what they’ll do is mix aspects of this and other possibilities into something that will be unexpected for us the audience.
Some of the people involved in producing LOST are producing this, and I think we're safe from the whole "Dead the whole time" thing as LOST got so much shit for it's finale.
They're definitely not in purgatory/the afterlife. They've even asked that within the show, so it would be a huge slap in the face to viewers if that ended up being the case
@@FromLand those are great thoughts, I will have to watch your chess video bec it is interesting. They are not actually dead, the series explained that they are not dead neither alive at the same time and it's a pocket dimension controlled by someone higher power. Remember victor says that the tree moved 4 inch, and The boy in white said that the place is angry now. Monsters are also like a prisoner in there because the in 9th episode they were hiding underground but monsters didn't knew were, if monsters and dimension were same then they would've known were wore they hiding. This is the best sci-fi I've ever seen
The monsters came out of the cave entrance. Why did no one put the talismans at the entrance. Or build a hut over the entrance then put a talisman in it with a door right against the entrance. Completed it mate.
They dont actually resemble they relatives or loved ones they just claim to be. this is stated in the 1st episode when meagan says you dont look like my grandma to the old lady
The runes on at least one as far as I can see are Norse- Ansuz (or more likely could be fehu) and inguz. It does seem to be modified with some sort of day and night symbolism as well as a mirrored figure representing "self". The tree may symbolize yygdrasil? Idk, I'm getting lots of old Norse vibes.
Interesting to see the Nordic influences laid out by you. That reminded me of Valhalla, Hall of the fallen, a special heaven for those fallen in combat. I thought Valhalla was also said to be 'eternal hunting grounds' however in this case that means that the fallen humans are hunted by monsters.
I think these monsters are as much as prisoners as the people there ,The people literally can't leave that place because they are literally incapable of it and they would be outside at night which would kill them and the monsters can't leave while any human is still alive which is why people are still coming into the location and getting trapped there and why the monsters kill the so horribly.Thats just my opinion.
I agree. My crazy idea is this. There is a parallel dimension identical to ours but on another plane of existence. There is a portal to travel to our world. However there is also a corridor or room between the two. Kind of a neutral area. The town resides in this neutral corridor. There is a door to get into their world and one into this world. These people are trapped in the corridor as are the creatures. Thats why everything is off or wierd and incomplete like the electrical outlets. These creatures snatch people from all over the world because time and space are meaningless in the corridor. Thats also why they travel in circles and can never leave the town.
Also People who stuck here have seen someone close to them die in their presence but was helpless 1. Thomas- Mathews and tabitha's child 2. The boy who asked father khatri for help 3. Fatima's dad
Christie would’ve said he’s still speaking in the “PAST TENSE” if she was referring to a new (new is always in the future) situation that Jim was in, since being an engineer was in his recent past, and since we see time as linear, as if he was no longer an engineer like *before,* in the PAST. “Still speaking in the *present* tense” sounds like Christie thinks they’re not in reality, because the ONLY reality is the present. IF we could time travel and went to the past or future, being in that moment would STILL be the “present”. *There is no past or future- the past is memories that are colored by emotions, therefore not reality, and the future is fantasy., therefore not reality.* IF she meant that Jim was no longer an Engineer & had a career because he was trapped in the town, and therefore no longer had his career, she would’ve said the opposite, that he was “still speaking in the *past* tense”. Using the word “still” means that he’s talking as if he was STILL in the present like he used to be, but is no longer. I think she’s referring to not being in reality, as “present” is right now, not past or future. UNLESS she thinks they’re in the past or future, but doesn’t refer to it as the present because she knows it’s the past or future - but if that was the case, and if she views time linearly like everyone else, she would’ve said “PAST TENSE”.
Just finished the show and found your videos, very well done. Your research if extremely impressive, and your theories I believe are mostly spot on and very well thought out. However, the theory that they are dead I’m pretty sure is 100% false. First they discuss it in the series and pass it off as not true. Second, they take the time to make “missing” posters as part of the promotional material. Why have that if they were in car accidents? The posters make no mention of accidents. Going on with other clues I think belies the most rational reason why they aren’t dead. The very idea of a sci-fi show using “they were dead the whole time” is so pastiche that a green light never would of been given as it would be universally hated by fans and critics. Also as this is by the same producers as lost, they made a big point in that show to state that “what happened on the island, really happened” and they weren’t all dead when it was going on, when fan backlash became a operant. I see no way that they would decide to make a series where everyone was already dead knowing full well how it would be received and the backlash. Once again great videos, I hope this show blows up and you get the attention you deserve for your efforts.
What you think about the moving trees? What Victor was saying... what kind of theory you have about that? maybe is because the town is getting smaller day by day?
The show explains that animals wander in from the forest. One character tended animals as their occupation. The colony house has a garden that was mentioned in one episode. But yes, how are they replenishing their food? It would take a significant effort to feed that many people.
6:44 / 9:27 holy shit I did not thought about this! CRAP, what about Donna and her sister? Why do you think they got stuck? Also Donna says ""that's right everyone sees the three". Good analysis!
Seems like you could drive and pinpoint the point of the road that starts to loop and mark it, maybe there is something special there? Everyone should work together more and brainstorm together more there.
Great information! I hadn't really looked at the poster, but the shape also looks like a pyramid with what appears to be a blue light or beam shooting up to a dome. Also, perhaps the monsters are phantazoids affected by the plasma beam hence all the car batteries being gone and electricity is weird on this plane.
I like the show but I find it so strange that they have not tried to gather any intel on the enemy. Even setting a spike pit or a cage. Even if it is able to escape you’ve just learned more about them. And if you can trap one you can test what they are weak against. Or trapping it til morning to see if they simply don’t come out at night or if they are damaged by the son or if they somehow cease to exist during the day.
I wonder why nobody has knapped out some stone arrowheads and reproduced the runestone etchings on them. May not work, but ya never know until you try.
I have a question, when the family came across the fallen tree did they turn around? Or did they go around it? I haven't figured it out despite watching the entire series.
Wow, great analysis. I also noticed the nordic symbols (obvious and implied), which makes me wonder how is that mythology playing in the US? at first I thought it was indian or native mythology, Nordic inside the US seems a bit weird.
That’s a good question! It may be a matter of convenience for the show’s creators. Alternatively, we know that Nordic Paganism has been in the US since at least the 50s. If we assume the mythology is real, then it should apply globally and for everybody. Maybe this is also happening with people from other countries and we’ll later find out.
@@FromLand The first number we saw on the wall with dates was 1506 i think, that means that if the talisman's were there already, it's not possible that it is nordic.
What if this is all an RPG, like D&D, not really going by logic (it's just how we do things) like in a game console. If you look at that symbol Jade keeps seeing as a sphere ,and take away the straight line, I swear it looks like the Xbox sphere. Also, wouldn't it be interesting if the writers were actually reading theories online to come up with the ending most would be satisfied with. Lots of good imagination and theories out here. 😉👍
as an avid watcher of LOST back in the day, checking out theory sites, podcasts etc, i hope these Lost alums will not just introduce mystery for the sake of it and then not have an answer for it.
If I lived in that town. I'd set a trap for one of the monsters. Maybe a deep pit they fall in. I know it would be hard trapping them. But maybe you could trap them in a box with a talisman or something. And then carefully let them out at high noon to see if they die from sun exposure, or if it just causes them a lot of pain. Or maybe they just have to sleep during that time and they'd just sleep. Though if they just sleep, then I'd carefully try and kill them like saw their head off or something. obviously you'd have to build a contraption where you can do this from a distance. I'd probably build a small building close with a talisman inside so I could go inside quickly if it tries to come after me and doesn't die from the sun. After learning they sleep in caves, I'd send people into the woods during the day to search for caves to try and identify each entrance and mark it.
I just had an epiphany about the Hawaiian girl they keep drawing our attention to. I think the Hawaiian girls in the show are pointing to the Hawaiian Goddess Pele. A Volcano Goddess. I think the disaster/monster in the end will be a volcanic eruption. And if you look up Pele's stories, one of them is that she was forced to flee from her family, mainly her sister, the Hawaiian water goddess IN CANOES. I think that's the monster in the cave drawing that Tabitha and Victor saw. Tabitha (Tabita) is a fire goddess. Just saying. It's probably happened before. That's how the caves were formed and Tabitha also wondered where that spring water is coming from. The flood will cool the lava.
I figured something really bizzare that no one pays attention yet. S1E1 jade family passes 2 times where the road crosses the rail road. First time you can see the light poles and a white box and a sleeper at the crossing point. But at the second time they all disappeared!!!! But when they turn around and cross for the third time, the sleeper shows again but still no sign of light poles or white box, is the sleeper a tool for switching the road to reality????? In season 2 episode 2 we could see a map victor drew, hanging on container it shows a double pointed arrow and a separate roade ends to a circle!!! It made me think the lighthouse is a 3d high tech simulation device. That put real objects on real ground!!!
I swear, if we get to the end of this series and these writers once again say, "Uhh.. PURGATORY. Yeah, they're all dead and in Purgatory", I will lose my shht. I'm already on the fence about getting into season 2 after finding out its the same people from Lost. I think we should all be careful about how much energy we put into deciphering clues and making theories about a show being ran by people who have a history of not putting as much effort into creating a cohesive story that makes sense. Sorry.. binging the first season over two days and then finding out who was in control of the story was such a gut punch.
They don't take the form of dead loved ones. They all have their distinct human look that doesn't change. They also don't need to be invited. They only need there to be no talisman.
Correct. That wasn’t known by then. On the last part though, even if there’s a talisman, if someone opens the a window or entrance, they can come in. The space protected by the talismans needs to be fully enclosed.
And the strongest question is who is replied for the call on the radio he was a man and he sound comfortable.. may b its an experiment And why there is monsters with limitations and rules why they sleep with there original faces so may b its a part of the experiment and why there is a talisman to improve something and why there is a limit for the forest and from where the electricity come from

Yes. After episode 3 the evidence contradicts the theory that they are currently dead. At the same time, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that they were about to die right before getting trapped in the town and that the town takes people who were close to death for some purpose.
If they were dead, dying could be symbolic of acknowledging they’re actually dead. However, the evidence introduced after episode 3 contradicts the theory that they may be dead, but not that they were in the process of or about to die.

It may be that he didn’t actually go through with it, but since he was so close to do it, he was pulled by the town which in a way gave him another purpose or chance to take a new path in life.
@@FromLand of all the channels with theories, this one is the one I’m agreeing with the most. It is like a place where they aren’t dead and they aren’t alive either… like schrödinger’s box they are both dead and alive at the same time
then how people age in there? and also priest specified to Tabitha that when they got into accident, they already were inside the ,,zone,, so i don't think that they died. they are alive
My son and I were thinking the same exact thing
the only thing that hurts this purgatory theory is children like the girl who died in 1st episode, Ethan and specially Victor.
@@FromLand Nice, can't wait to see your ideas about the chess symbolism!
I don’t believe they will go with the everyone dead theme either because of their connection with lost, it would be too much. I don’t know where they are going but I hope it is unexpected and fun and exciting. I love this show and don’t mind waiting for the answers as long as it’s entertaining along the way.
Yeah, seems like the human eating monsters are also trapped in whatever this is.
And she opened it anyways
Yet In the last episode Boyd wife appeared as herself
Its like where in Dreams, a person may not look like themselves, but somehow, you still know exactly who it was.
Great Symbolism on this show. I love it.
Exactly what I’ve been looking for. We’ll done!
Thank you :)
But why would the sheriff still try to get them all home. If he knows they are all dead?
Ty
The theory has evolved a lot ever since I posted this analysis :). Feel free to watch the newer videos.
I love this show is it monsters is it demons is it purgatory is it aliens whatever it is it's f---ing cool
Haha, aliens for the win! :D
@@FromLand lol hahaha
Also People who stuck here have seen someone close to them die in their presence but was helpless
1. Thomas- Mathews and tabitha's child
2. The boy who asked father khatri for help
3. Fatima's dad
They live with grief, and the place feeds off of grief and creates it
Great analysis, gave me some things to think about!
*There is no past or future- the past is memories that are colored by emotions, therefore not reality, and the future is fantasy., therefore not reality.*
IF she meant that Jim was no longer an Engineer & had a career because he was trapped in the town, and therefore no longer had his career, she would’ve said the opposite, that he was “still speaking in the *past* tense”.
OUTSTANDING ANALYSIS!! I'm a new subscriber. QUESTION / Does the theme song have any clues to the mysteries of what the show is about?
WOW WHAT A REVIEW!!!!
I went over that in my new video for episode #4. I think the trees are getting closer every time someone in the town dies (like a game of siege).
I think eventually the forest covers the entire town and everyone dies and then the forest returns to normal and the cycle starts again.
What i'm curious about is how do they replenish their food supplies?
And bullets
The show explains that animals wander in from the forest. One character tended animals as their occupation. The colony house has a garden that was mentioned in one episode. But yes, how are they replenishing their food? It would take a significant effort to feed that many people.
@@BradyRay_333 I can believe them replenishing food. But how do they still have bullets?
6:44 / 9:27 holy shit I did not thought about this! CRAP, what about Donna and her sister? Why do you think they got stuck?
Also Donna says ""that's right everyone sees the three". Good analysis!
Thanks! We'll maybe find out more very soon about the background of the other characters.
Donna also mentions that she and her sister came across the tree while on a hunting trip
Seems like you could drive and pinpoint the point of the road that starts to loop and mark it, maybe there is something special there? Everyone should work together more and brainstorm together more there.
Great video
I think you are on to something, it does seem every person at the town I am aware of was distracted driving when they encountered the tree.
I already watched first season of the movie and after 10 episodes like to know when next season begins ? It's very interesting 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
According to Epix, season 2 is said to air sometime in late 2023 (next year).
I keep expecting them to make a cage trap and catch one of the monsters.
They’re too strong for that from what I’ve seen
@@uzumakivybez6703 yeah, I also think that would probably piss off whoever is running the “game”
@@LocalDegenn Facts bro it’s definitely a simulation or a game or something ran by some sadistic SOB’s
I wonder why nobody has knapped out some stone arrowheads and reproduced the runestone etchings on them. May not work, but ya never know until you try.
Thanks for this analysis. Very interesting
Kinda reminds me of Silent Hill while I watch it. The diner, the walking creatures.
Woah awesome analysis!! I love hearing everyone’s theories 😁😁
THIS IS EXCELLENT ANALYSIS 🙂
I have a question, when the family came across the fallen tree did they turn around? Or did they go around it? I haven't figured it out despite watching the entire series.
They turned around, but this time the road led them into the town.
Well it is now believed Leif Erickson discovered America. He was Noric!
@@FromLand The first number we saw on the wall with dates was 1506 i think, that means that if the talisman's were there already, it's not possible that it is nordic.
7:57 she just means he won't go back to his old life and the sheriff reprimenda her for being harsh
Julie character got me hooked. . 😏
I figured it out on ep 3. Im just gonna say all the characters are important
Why is the show called "From?" What does that mean?
Isn´t too soon to do another Lost?
Good points
I’d assume that this would prolly piss off the “game masters” and would cause them to speed up the “extinction event” where everyone dies
@@LocalDegenn But that's you assuming to know their intentions. They may want or not care if you destroy the monsters.
I wondered if anyone ever tried to lift the tree?
What happens if you happen to have a chainsaw when you come upon the tree?
or if you are driving a forklift xD.
A chain and 4 wheel drive may do it.
The crows would be heard saying "fuuuuu..." once the chainsaw is turned on.
I like your channel
Hmmm so then if this is not like Lost then can it be a la Cabin in the Woods or Inception? LOL
why arent you doing any new videos??
Short hiatus due to work but I’ll start releasing videos on regular schedule as soon as season 2 comes out :).
Has anyone thought to cut or move the tree? Or can no one from the town can get back to the fallen tree? If they explained it I missed the it.
It seems that they only see the fallen tree once. After that, they just see the looping road that leads them back to town.
@@FromLand sounds reasonable 👍
Hey, anyone knw when season 2 gonna come out
An announcement hasn’t been made yet. I’ll make a post as status updates come in.
I watched the lost boys after the show last night ...and I came to believe they are vampires....they have to be invited in...and they live forever
What if this show is like the movie "identity" all of the multiple personalities are being brought in to one town to be "killed"
I haven't seen anyone say that the Ariel view on the cover could be the view that whatever is controlling this has.
They are not dead!!
Bro, you need to start recording again. Season 3 teaser and trailer are out. Some new theories would be nice.
This is the greatest fucking show I've ever seen. 🤩
I just hope they don't fuck it up eventually.....
They don’t eat people. They just rip people apart they never eat them
The place they are in could be purgatory
thanks for the fucken synopsis
Great analysis. Do you have another channel here? Your voice sounds awfully familiar.
Thanks! Just this channel (for now).
And the strongest question is
who is replied for the call on the radio he was a man and he sound comfortable.. may b its an experiment
And why there is monsters with limitations and rules why they sleep with there original faces so may b its a part of the experiment and why there is a talisman to improve something and why there is a limit for the forest and from where the electricity come from
Great video ! What was the From director’s Instagram page
Thanks! The show's Instagram page is @FromOnEpix. I don't know Griffin's handle (the creator), but the handle for one of the top exec producers of the show is @jackbenderart. Jack Bender also worked on Game of Thrones and Lost.
Why did anyone think to go back and move the tree in the beginning?
cause that appears to be the most convenient way to avoid that tree considering you have to go really fast in order to get through that or have a risky chance of making the RV fall over by going to the sides
But they covered that everyone being dead thing in the show. They were in the town before they got into the car accident. So no they're not dead.
Yes. After episode 3 the evidence contradicts the theory that they are currently dead. At the same time, that doesn’t rule out the possibility that they were about to die right before getting trapped in the town and that the town takes people who were close to death for some purpose.
Seems like people get stuck there when they are suffering in their real life or will be imminently…divorce, illness, etc?
how can you die after dieing is it trees all the way down
If they were dead, dying could be symbolic of acknowledging they’re actually dead. However, the evidence introduced after episode 3 contradicts the theory that they may be dead, but not that they were in the process of or about to die.
@@FromLand maybe they were saved jade comes to mind ovbious drunk driver really drunk get saved by from place also i noticed that during the start in the rv he was doing the movie talkign thing in the car not looking at the road possibly leading to accident and that accpecting the darkness within they get to go home lamo this was ment for my other comment

Yeah I hope it's not some limbo place for dead people. And just here? What about other dead people around the world. But....if the check clears I'll do the work.
It’s just the production team of Lost, but a different writer/creator.
@@FromLand Gotcha. Still some influence.
Symbolism?
No you are wrong they are not all dead because Victor was there since he was a little boy and if you did you’re not gonna grow into an old man are you going to stay at the age and with you guys back to the town
Why don’t they try and kill one , fire would be my first idea lol
Except they had ALREADY seen the tree AND done several laps BEFORE getting into an accident
Yep. I don’t think they’re dead based on the later episodes, but the subject of mortality is definitely a key theme in the show.
Ah, the ones who die are supposed to be dead?, that's why the girl had to kill the guy?
I was thinking that maybe the ones that are killed by Sara were meant to play an important role in the town, and the voices that speak to Sara have some sort of knowledge of the future.
Purgatory or Hell.
If they pulled a lost all over again I'll be very disappointed
